Thanks so much for this Neal. I learned to make boxes watching various Indian videos but their techniques lack the level of professionalism here. I've never been satisified with how they turn out. This is absolutely fabulous, obviously more time consuming but really makes all the difference, I consider this the master class now!
Thank you. No I don’t have wrinkly paper, but there isn’t enough water in my brush to cause a problem, and the glue itself is no problem. Some papers do have issues regardless, and I don’t use those anymore.
@@NealCox Nothing special. Cardstock and colored paper. The kind that goes for wedding invitations and scrapbooking. Like SINAR SPECTRA Premium Colour, Herlitz, weight about 120-160 g/mp. I am thinking of going for some bookbinding cloth that is backed with paper but is not easy to find good, light colors. Many are almost always out of stock. And when they usually are, they are so expensive...
This board measures 0.08" = 80 Point = 1/12" = 2.0mm, which is what I supply to my students because it's easy enough to cut with a sharp utility knife. However, if that's not an issue, I prefer to use the next size up: 0.098" = 98 Point = 1/10" = 2.5mm, especially as the boxes increase in size.
Thank you for this tutorial this one is the easiest to follow! For me anyway.
I'm glad it's useful for you! Thank you for your comment.
This is so cool. Thank you so much!
So glad you think so!
quite well expained!
Thanks

No problemo. Estoy felíz de ayudar.

Are the sides of the larger tray taller then the smaller tray?
Yes.
Good video! Do you face problems with paper wrinkling because of the excess water in the glue?

@@NealCox You are lucky then :). My paper hates me :) Thank you for your answer.
I’m curious to know what paper you’re using.

muy buen vídeo, me encanto el resultado, pero por favor podrías comentar el tipo de cartón que usas

You’re welcome!
Hello what's the thickness of the board ?
This board measures 0.08" = 80 Point = 1/12" = 2.0mm, which is what I supply to my students because it's easy enough to cut with a sharp utility knife. However, if that's not an issue, I prefer to use the next size up: 0.098" = 98 Point = 1/10" = 2.5mm, especially as the boxes increase in size.
@@NealCox thank you very much
@@aqsanazar5123 you're most welcome
What kind of glue are you using?
I am using a brand of Poly Vinyl Acetate (PVA) called Jade 403. Here's the link where I get it: www.talasonline.com/Jade-403
@@NealCox that’s so much! Great video. I’m going to try making a box!
@@allentate3760 go for it! It’s great fun.
@@NealCox in between times you brush on the glue, what do you do with your brush? Does the glue tend to dry up on the brush?
Yes, it does dry quickly in the brush, so if you are taking time with a non glue task, rinse the glue out with water.
