Yes but in some cancers, BRCA is mutated so that pathway doesn't work either. Hence the cancer cells can't repair their DNA and die off. PARP inhibitors are only worth trying in people with BRCA mutated cancer cells.

PARP pathways = the base excision repair (BER) pathway and the nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway in response to single-stranded DNA breaks
