    It's a second mixer which has its output directed into one of the line inputs of the main mixer. Actually a really good tip, although of course you are introducing a little extra noise.
    Giving it a slang name is confusing.

    I was kind-of talking to myself I think. You turned the panning knob to the left and you were coming through my right.

    Thanks for all your help man! early this morning I got everything figured out for the most part and actually got some recording done. I'm making a new account and going to upload my drum videos there and If you could, could you check them out and tell me what you think, like sound wise rather than the playing itself.

    Hi, great video! You said it clearly with simplicity :)
    Just a question, If i were to go USB into Cubase, Would I be able to record each mic on a separate track in Cubase ?

    Hey thanks for the help. I recently just bought the behringe xenyx 2222fx mixer and am still trying to get this whole thing worked out on my computer. I don't quite understand the whole mixing part, and trying to record part yet.

    Would you recommend this for a 5 to 6 mic setup for drums? (Kick, snare, high tom, floor tom, 1 to 2 overheads). I'm most likely not going to use it live. It's going to be for mainly home usage.

    Just have fun with it man. Download free audacity software if the super complicated programs are a little overwhelming (which they are) and then it just takes time and practice.

    No, on this exact console you need to run a side car with at least two more pre-amps. The easier solution of course is to buy the next console up, which has eight pre-amps. I like running a side car with a fx bay because then I can seperate which mics need phantom, and whcih don't. as well as which mics need FX and which don't.

    Thanks for the vid, can this unit send a USB output ( to pc) AND XLR output ( to video cam XLR in) at the same time? I'm wanting to record UA-cam vids at same time as recording audio for podcasting, and this would save me a lot of post work .

    Thanks for the Video and explanation.. would you have any suggestion about some interface that does the separated track recording and would have also the possibily of using it as a mixer to playing live (Guitar + Voice + keyboard, for example) ?

  • @drumminman66

    of the behringer line you can plug all seven mics into the xenyx x2222 usb console...it is a step or two higher than the console I reviewed.

    Ahh I see! Thanks so much for the info!!!!
    Hope this isn't asking for too much, But could you recommend a good USB mixer like 12+ tracks that records multi-track?
    Thanks!

    LOL, this man has me rofl-ing. Sorry for the basic nature my man, but with this being an introductory console, I thought an introductory walk through was in order. If I was reviewing a midas, or a digidesign venue, I'm sure I would be speaking on your level.

    Hi, what about computer playback...can you listen playback recordings coming from your laptop through the 1204usb, like Direct monitoring?. Do you seriously think I can use this for voice over...does the mic preamp have clean gain?

  • @drumminman66
    @drumminman66  12 років тому

    @equipsx73 As long as the Xynyx comes with the usb interface, and you have the xlr cables to hook run to the mixer you should be good to go, though yes the usb interface only tracks in as a master track. no sperate tracks without fire wire. If you don't yet have a recording program to use, might I suggest you download Audacity, it is free and extremely user friendly to users new to recording. Feel free to send me more comments or messages if you need further help.

    Hey I have a question. I have the Pyle pro pdkm7 drum mics and I've been looking for a mixer or whatever else you need to record drums. I fairly new at this whole recording stuff so sorry if I sound like a "noob." haha but anyways I was thinking of getting the behringer xenyx 2222fx mixer and I was reading around that it doesn't record separate tracks onto your computer because it's USB or something like that. But let's say I purchased this mixer is there anything else I would need to record? I

    Hi, I find your video really helpful! I just want to know if you can help me, Im looking for a console or mixer, in order to be able to record each channel separately with pro tools, so I understand this model does not work that way, but do you know any console or mixer that could work that way and that are comparably priced?? If you can help me with this I´ll be soooo thankful, because it´s been really hard to find an answer to this need I have. Thanks from Costa Rica

    +CoveredInButter42 It wouldn't have enough inputs if they're all going to be XLR as it only has 4 inputs for XLR devices...

    Hey there,
    I see you are translating to english so I am trying my best to understand what you are asking.
    Are you asking if this console has a compressor? If so, it does not; and I would look for one that does if you are using purely for vocals.

    I have the QX1204USB and the instructions are garbage.... nothing more than quick setup guide. If I'm inputting the sound of my PC into the USB interface, how do I switch Channel 5/6 or 7/8 to the USB input so I can control them with the faders and EQ knobs?
    Do I really have to control the volume on the computer end? There is a giant "USB INTERFACE" logo above the 5/6 and 7/8 channels on the QX1204USB insinuating that you could switch those inputs to the USB interface to control them as part of the mix.

    • @BlueGeckoLaser
      @BlueGeckoLaser 10 років тому

      The "USB INTERFACE" is just a logo where they had space for a sticker.
      There is only compression on the first 4 inputs, 5/6 7/8 have no compressor hence the room for the sticker.
      This is a stereo mixer, so the usb to PC connection is for the stereo mix. 2 channels only. There is no controlling individual channels on this style mixer through a PC/MAC unless you count the left and right channel as adjusting a mix.

  • @drumminman66
    @drumminman66  11 років тому

    Hey there,
    Thanks for watching. Sorry to say that this console would not be able to separate tracks. The RCA out is what sends the audio to the USB interface. RCA does not support enough data to be able to split tracks. However Many other consoles comparably priced can do exactly what you need.
