    What you do for all of us is truly appreciated, thank you so so much. Not only do you provide us with course content more concisely than our own courses... but you're insightful and engaging. We really appreciate everything you put out to help us students !! :)

      I appreciate that message! Trying my best to make these as high quality as I possibly can, I know its hard to "love" subjects when you feel you have to memoirse so much content, but in making these I hope people can get a sense that these things are intresting beyond just getting a qualification!

    Can we use the term weird in the exam, if we explain it, or is it just an acronym to remember the common types of participants?

    • @PsychBoost
      @PsychBoost  9 місяців тому

    Is there no AO3 for this?

    • @MiloMck
      @MiloMck 7 місяців тому +4

      I believe the Ao3 in this is implemented by applying it to existing psychological research (generally speaking it undermines the findings and reduces the validity of research) for instance research by Milgram,Asch,Zimbardo displayed Beta Bias by not considering how females behaviour may differ and the results generalised to the wider population: an example of gender differences being minimised hence misrepresenting gender differences. Alpha bias is shown in research by Bowlby in his monotropic theory as it over exaggerates the role of the mother etc. AO3 for Culture would include real world examples of how cultures differ Like nudity in Arabic speaking cultures compared to African cultures are very different, Demonstrating the importance of why these Emic constructs should be considered when conducting psychological research. This can also be applied to existing research like Ainsworth's Attachment types: She used an imposed etic construct of what she believed to be a healthy upbringing as though it's a universal concept when it is really just an emic reflection on 'western' child-rearing. This could be a major flaw in her research and the differences in upbringing between cultures may just be the preferred "healthy" child rearing and the reason as to why other cultures showed more children being identified as having an insecure attachment.
      The key is that you should remember that AO3 doesn't have to be research evidence into these theories but application into real world examples and existing research is just as good.
      to note examiners love when you can apply theories to existing research and the implications by not considering these kinds of factors and how it may affect the results. It shows them that you have a good understanding of the content.(This doesn't mean you should disregard research evaluations)
      Hope this helps
