- Menteebot can navigate complex environments by combining a 3D model of the world with a dynamic obstacle map. On the first day in a new location, Menteebot generates the 3D model by following a person who shows the robot around. This demonstration also showcases turning in place to keep the person at the center of its field of view. This is important since Menteebots are mentored by their human colleagues. The video also features the LLM OS in action as well as various types of gait.
I love how his default waiting for instructions stance is "Shaggy" from scooby-doo

This robot walks with the most upright posture I've seen in any humanoid robot. All the rest walk like if they are crouched. Ten thumbs up just for that.

Love the big red Emergency Shutdown button on the back. Good idea to just slightly imbed it so as to reduce chances of accidental activation. Having one shows they're thinking of having this along side people and it's an important feature. As much as we expect these things to work flawlessly, all tech has a chance to have "moments" where things don't go well.
You get it wrong. That is actually the "engage kill mode" button.

You're getting something wrong here. You lose your slave status and are replaced by the robot.

The gentle, emotive tone of a young man contrasts with the image of the robot named Menteebot, whose amusing feet are reminiscent of Frankenstein's, and the headless torso does not convey a sense of security. I am aware that the design will undergo evolution, and although the torso is excellent, changing the voice to a classic sci-fi robotic pitch would be more fitting. At least at this stage!

I've always loved everything about him. Currently I would simply deploy him to be my body double, to keep me on track with my own tasks. Hand him a trash bag so when I return from taking the trash out I could ask "What was I going to do next!?"...."Mam you were doing to put this bag in the bin"...... "Okay yeah ... thanks Buddy" 😂

Interesting 🙂 1. Make embodied and other '4E' interaction tests. Ask the robot about its body, pointing, actions, etc. also with a human interrogator body reference. The more simple fundamental understanding Manteebot has, the more it can build on that by learning 😀 I want to do a PhD on this..
2. Perhaps the voice could align with the modest interaction agility performance 🙂

This is something a modern vacume that costs $400 can do, minus walking.
Many of those commands were quite imprecise, as vernacular speech usually is. How was Mentee's response determined (how many degrees to turn, how many steps to take per command, etc) - by a general-purpose chatbot engine, or were the responses hardcoded to a specific verbal input?

this is really freaking awsome, but the processing time is very slow, im guessing you dont run basic commands like that on device, if it is onhouse, why is it so darn slow?
