Hi, nice setup. While you said that you dont like the throttle for your application how would you rate it as a standalone device? Any other gripes/problems besides positioning and the man rng knob?
The Winwing is a great throttle with minor issues. It would be excellent for anyone from the casual desktop flyer to those who have more intricate pits like my old Next Level Racing setup. But for a replica 1:1 scale pit, it does not fit, nor is it a proper replica. I am waiting for the availability of a Simgears TQS which is supposed to work on a desk or be mounted within a replica pit such as mine. But the Winwing is a fantastic product for 99% of flyers.
@@GDViperWorks thank you very much, since i dont have any extra button Boxes i will go for ww first and then maybe switch once i have the room to get a more intricate setup. What are the minor flaws in your opinion? I know of the rng knob but i have a 3d printer
The radar tilt is also in the wrong position. Most wouldn't notice and it doesn't affect the throttles use. It does have all the high use buttons and switches and that is very valuable to 99%. A full HOTAS setup with the WW combat and gear panels make a very capable setup that minimizes mouse clicks. Better yet is to add a Simgears ICP and some MFDs and you have 95% of your combat functions at your finger tips.
@@GDViperWorks yeah, my priority would be mfds first and then a physical icp. Before that i will probably try an app. So the flaws are just the slew and rng knob? I have heard from one person that the comm switch is bad and when transmitting while changing thrust it presses the switch down instead of continuing transmitting but i find that hard to believe
@@FabianSkornia Simgears will be releasing a "deskpit" shortly. It will likely incorporate screens with the MFD bezels much like the Winwing Hornet deskpit. This type of product is long overdue. Having to mate a screen with TM's MFDs is a pain. Why they never jumped on the obvious of building them with screens is a head scratcher. So the cottage industries of enthusiast builders have had to make these items. But that is now changing. The Winwing's manual range is more than a knob type issue. It is also very finicky in DCS. Sometimes zooming in my pod actually zooms out. It is very inconsistent in its performance.
Unfortunately no. I do t have the time and there are plenty of videos already on UA-cam about how to do it. Especially from people far more knowledgeable about it than me.
To be frank, if I kept track, it wouldn't wind up as realistic as is the goal. It would take the fun out of it too. That isn't to say I don't hunt for the best prices on components. Owning the right software and tools to make my own panels, knobs, other accessories; while expensive, actually saves me a ton of money.
@@GDViperWorks I’m thinking of doing something of a similar style? If you could at least give me an estimate I would greatly appreciate it. You also did a very good job with it. Any tips and tricks that you could share? Are you using trackir or VR? What is the cockpit structure made out of?

Awesome! That looks so good!
Outstanding works so far! Can't wait to see how TQS be installed on your pit.
This is incredible. A friend and I are hoping to build our own pit and are in New England as well (Boston). Would love to come see this in person!
I live in the Boston area and have a half assembled one haha
Fantastic 👏Congratulations
Nice set-up 😀

If anyone has a lead on metal switchguards, I'd love to hear about it. (Not those junk plastic ones).
How much did this all cost you total? Asking for a friend of course…
