Amazing recap. We had -20°C here about 15 years ago but nothing as severe since. In fact, barely below freezing and seldom any snow.
I wonder how you manage to get foid supplies when you're snowed in like that. I guess you keep a stock of necessities to last a week or so.

We've never been snowed in (since I've lived here). That snow outside the window slides off the roof every spring in the back and in the front under the kitchen windows. So it's over 5 feet of snow, but only right under the windows. And lots of houses here have rooves with steeper slants, so the snow never accumulates on top of the roof. They don't have this problem.
Edit: Also, the front door has a stoop in front of it and a small roof over it, so the snow does not slide down in front of the front door, only the back door.
