What’s your go-to teleprompter setup? DIY or ready-made? Let me know below! Also, if you have questions about the Elgato Teleprompter, drop them here, I'll answer them... if I can. 😆
Great video and I can especially agree on the advantages compared to a tablet. Been using the prompter for 2 months now in our business studio. The main selling point for me was the possibility to use two prompters simultaneous so the reader can switch seamless between two cameras. As for our setup the system is good but it definitely has some limitations and lacks some features. Maybe it's worth mentioning that we're more than one person in that studio and not a one-man army. So we might have different needs than a streamer. But I see lots of potential and it's not the hardware, it can be totally solved in software. We're also having a stream deck attached so we can easily change speed, font size, jump chapters and many more. Hope they are adding some stuff along the next updates: - You can't copy the whole text out later on, which is really bad if you made some changes and would like to keep track of everything by copying it back to a Word-document which you can hand to the editor. - You can't connect a shared document, like a Word-document from a cloud service, which would also solve issue #1 (that would actually the best thing for us as a small team, so everyone would be able to access the file and the reader would have the most recent text on screen) - No possibility to highlight text by underline or change textsize, or change text color of that very part, only as a whole unfortunately... - No chance to use the software without attaching the prompter via USB, so no chance to prepare anything beforehand - No preview window, which would make it a lot easier without attaching the monitor as well as the point above AND... - a preview window woud give the option to see exactly where the reader is, so someone behind the camera can adjust speed as needed (sometimes it doenst matter how great you prepared a text, some parts need a speed up, while others need to be read slower) - as you're usually limiting the horizontal space so you won't notice the eyes wandering around as much, it would be great to use that space for editorial information. So if you're recording a live video you can give info to fix hair, move somewhere else, or whatever is of importance. As said before, this could be added later on via updates and I hope Elgato will do so, as this is a great piece of equipment, not only for solo streamers but also for all studios using a prompter.
Appreciate you sharing such a detailed perspective! Using the Elgato Teleprompter in a multi-person studio setup sounds like a whole different ballgame compared to my solo workflow. I also noticed the constant USB connection requirement and mentioned it briefly in my video. It definitely limits flexibility quite a bit. Being able to read a local file would already be a massive improvement making editing and correcting scripts far more intuitive. Cloud syncing would be even better but having at least one of these options would simplify the workflow immensely. Using a Stream Deck for precise control sounds like a smart setup. I only explored the voice control side of things but combining both could streamline things further especially for real-time adjustments. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. Hopefully Elgato considers adding features like these in future updates.

Video quality looking good my G 👌
Didnt mess up the lighting situation (or using a hoodie on a side profile light) three times in a row this time! 🥳🤣
