Thankfully you can switch the double click back to being turbo mode just like every other light they make. Also happy they switched to a glass lens on the ultra
UV is great for finding golfballs and amber
To use the og interface... 2 presses for turbo.. lock it out 10 presses or more it will flash and the interface will switch to 2 presses for turbo and 3 presses for the strobe. Which is better because that what all the other Olights interface is
Looks like micro arc oxidation. It's three times harder than hard anodization, which is Mil-spec.
Could it be Cerakote?
@@cblack1863no, cerakote is nothing but a thinner and tougher paint. But it’s still pretty much paint
That’s the natural color of the oal with bead blasting
@4:06 I wonder how many were (in their heads) hearing it in AvE's voice?? LOL And @6:00 I wish Osmo would make a finish as durable as this puppy. Damn. Impressed.
"Focus you ..."
@@bige7322 EXACTLY!!! LOL
Doc, Curious, Are you a mechanic? Lucky you have tons of awesome tools! Love the videos! My favorite of all the tool videos!!! God Bless, Signed, Old USAF Aircraft Mechanic!
I'm amazed at how scratch proof it is
I really like these lights, but I'm not going to buy anything with a proprietary charger. 😢
It magnetic and easy to use
@@gtiguy1992able I'm aware, but I absolutely do not want another device which requires its own special snowflake charging cable. USB-C should be universal.
I felt the same way until I stacked coupons and got the Arkfeld Ultra for $80 shipped, with free engraving. Hard to pass up at that price.
@@HelplessTeno i paid 67 for the arkfelf ultra and 79 for the seeker 4 pro in a bundle
Proprietary and/or built in batteries... BOO HISS, Boo Hiss, boo hiss.
they are still LED's, but instead of plastic lenses it is that mircoperf. very cool. The AF pro also allows light+laser. I bought my AF pro because of you, best EDC light ever!
Great!
But can tbe battery be replaced?
not really, nearly everything is glued. there is a reason why the light cost so low
No
Yep, that’s a deal breaker for me. For me it’s hard to beat an 18650 light. My favorite light I’ve ever had is my current one. Surefire EDC2-DFT Turbo. Takes an 18650 that can be recharged on my bank charger by my night stand, a USB port on the battery itself, or I can pop in 2 cr123s. So many options and so much power in one simple and durable light.
Sealed but rechargeable so no need to replace the batteries😂 all my olights that have rechargeable batteries have never needed replaced, even sealed one, if they do they are covered under warranty anyways
@@gtiguy1992able you completely missed the point of my comment lol
I've had a few Olights, but they've failed me about a year later. All I have left is a Baton II and a Gober. The Baton II stays on turbo for 2 seconds and drops down. The 2 others have become paperweights. I went over to Fenix and have been happy so far, they have an amazing warranty too. I want to like Olight but they just have let me down a few times.
I do like the Olight Gober on my dog harness, it works great.
Thanks for your videos!
olight has lifetime warranty. reach out you should just have them replace the battery or whatever
I just got mine in the mail today. Arkfeld is definitely my favorite light. I’m assuming the ultra will be a good upgrade. Never bought the pro
I liked the scale...could you please share the brand/model?
amzn.to/4d7KyKV
Have they changed the accessibility of the on/off button?
My only complaint with the previous version is that I’d unknowingly turn it on when it was in my pocket, even in “safe” mode (or whatever it’s called).
Yes hold down for 6 seconds locks it out
I park mine on the laser setting for carry. But it would not hurt my feelings at all if there was a fourth click of total off.
Hey Doc, between this Olight Arkfeld Ultra and the Rovyvon E30 , which would you recommend? I like the hybrid feature and power of the E30 though.
I think you answered your own question. If dual fuel is desired then the choice is obvious. In my vid I mentioned doing the runtime math. Given the power of these small lights, I am now more apt to carry a second light rather than another battery.
I have many Rovyvon and Olight torches. They are both great products. I would tip slightly to the Olight side because I find them to have better materials, fit & finish, and UI (user interface), and because Olight's customer service is one of the best I've ever dealt with.
That being said, Rovyvon makes great torches, and their "dual fuel" options are great (I've carried an E3 Pro on my keychain for years).
My recommendation would be: get BOTH! The Arkfeld Ultra and Rovyvon E30 are both bangers, you won't be disappointed with either.
I have got the Ark Pro, daily care for work for sometime now. Great little light. Runtime not really a bother for me as I just leave it on mag charger when I leave for the day. UV light comes in handy for inspecting random machines and looking for odd fluorescing spots. The laser and flashlight on to point out spots in dark areas. Gotten it covered many times in machining coolant and metal dust. Still going strong.
@@matthewhebbert9712 I’m a dang tool junky and might end up going way in the end…lol!
@@lastbesttool when I look back on what I just said, I sure did…lol! Thanks
Is this light too heavy to clip to the he bill of your ball cap?
I hate how they release a new Arkfeld and I always seem to want it more than the one I have. I have the Winter titanium model and the Pro Racing model. This one looks like it belongs in Master Chief's pocket and I have a feeling it would last longer in my HVAC work than the soft aluminum Pro model I have now. I swear if I buy one of these and they come out with a Halo edition later on, I'm never buying another Olight again.
I really want to see olight delve more in to inspection lights particular to automotive. I feel like they could easily be competitive against offerings from the likes of streamlight.
Wow, Olight does cover their non removable batteries for Life in their lifetime warranty:
If you purchased an Olight® product from the USA after January 1st, 2023, the local service centers will honor your LIFETIME WARRANTY for your purchase. If your Olight product (including its structure, built-in battery, LED, or lens) ever experiences any issues, we promise to take care of it. If we are unable to repair your product, we will promptly replace it with a product in perfect working condition, which will be of equal or better physical condition. If your purchase is a limited or discontinued edition of Olight product, we will repair or replace it with another Olight product of the same or higher value."
Is that a Cerakote finish on the green one?
No it’s the natural color of oal with bead blasting
HRC65 huh?
Olight has the worst light quality. 70 CRI and cool white. 😂
If you have ever owned a good flashlight with a good emitter you cannot take Olight serious.
Then why did you click the video ?
@@bulkhungry Look at my comment. It provides factual additional info about the flashlight discussed in this video. I urge viewers to not be fooled by marketing claims about fancy aluminium alloys, but research about light emitters and light quality instead. I personally care about the LIGHT in flashLIGHT. The reason why I clicked the video does not matter at all. Maybe there was some hope that Olight would start to care about light quality, but looking into the specs hidden in the user manual PDF left me disappointed again.
@@jonasv328 You don't listen very well .
Again , then why did you click the video ?
That rambling dissertation never addressed the original query .
The only honest response should be :
"To publicly trash something I don't like and will never buy ."
Good day , sir .
@@bulkhungry Talking about actual flaws is not publicly trashing. It is just information for other viewers.
Why do you feel the urge to attack me due to my opinion about a flashlight concerning the specification?
@@jonasv328 @jonasv328 still haven't answered my original question .
Calling your previous message rambling wasn't an attack, but an observation.
It's not normal to watch videos of products you don't buy , from manufacturers you don't like and then proceed to point out "flaws" .
"Worst light quality .... can't take Olight seriously ."
Ok , fine . Millions don't agree , or Olight wouldn't be as successful as they are.
Maybe your wisdom will save them all from themselves , and O-hell , and everyone will thank you .
But otherwise , for the third time (a critique of your reading comprehension skills is not an attack , merely an observation) , why did you click the video of a product you dislike ?
And yes , your reason matters.
You should never play with dogs and the laser. Also, why should I upgrade to the ultra if I have the Pro? I am an Olight fan, but enough is enough. 😮
It’s a personal choice really. Only difference is 100 lumens probably won’t notice it, the bigger clip, the lens is glass instead of plastic is about it I believe and the new and stronger material
Bloody Vandalism!
3 lumens per gram for more than two hours, not as good as the last olight arkfeld but pretty respectable compared to any of their competitors
7:15 - OTHER tool lights. Gotcha ya!
No replaceable battery and proprietary charger if thats the kind of future you want then more power to you but for me if a company tells me "Screw you you can't replace the battery and you have to use our proprietary charger " then its a no purchase to me. Theres a good reason why aaa, aa, cr123, and 18650 lights will always be the better option and olights nonsense of proprietary battery voltages too they can get bent for that anti consumer bullshit but hey people keep supporting olight when they can clearly use standard voltage, usb-c but they want you in their walled garden...
Not the future the eu has passed a law that going forward all "gadgets" phones included will have to have user replacable batteries without the use of specialised tools. So unless they going to make two versions of everything for eu and rest of world the future looks promising
