- This impressive and beautifully kept estate sits just outside Castleton on the far north coast of Scotland. Located one mile from beautiful Dunnet Beach and dramatic cliffs, this is a magical home in the Scottish Highlands.

I never knew how beautiful Scotland was. As a boy, I assumed (you know what that means) it was cold, snowy country, like images of the Highlands. I know better now. Maybe one day I’ll get to visit myself.

2 seconds in and I already want to live in the guard house. Plus it has a tree line driveway flanked with horses. That's my dream! Norman Olsen Im not sure my mom didn't say the exact year but around 1700
It is effectively two houses in one. The older part is the back of the house, covered in pink harling, which was built in the 18th century by the Sinclairs of Olrig. It was bought off the Sinclairs by my great x3 grandfather, whose name was James Smith. His son, also called James Smith, built the front of the house in the 1850s.
