You are pretty spot on. The 49ers do not care about pick value and often overdraft for need. There is one thing I want to point out about Guerendo: he is to replace Eli Mitchell (who is barely on the field) and Jordan Mason.
The 49ers have a type, you have to have certain traits that they like. They knew they weren't going to be able to trade up in the 1st and 2nd rd. Pearsall is projected at 47 well you have to reach or risk losing him waiting at pick 63. Jacob Cowing is the only pick where you can say is a large reach. If these players pan out well and help us win the Super Bowl 🏈 you will feel differently.

Pearsall (pronounced pierce-all) plus Cowing gives them a likely backfill for Jennings’ free agency next year and also the option to move on from Deebo next year if he has another mediocre year (and either Pearsall or Cowing prove themselves). It’s worth noting on Cowing that Scot McCloughan (one of the better talent evaluators alive) sees Cowing as being the closest player to DeSean Jackson he’s ever seen. If that winds up being even close to true it’s a crazy steal. Puni has a ton of positional flexibility and gives them a potential replacement for Banks next year or to replace either Burford or McKivitz.
You’re spot on that the Niners have their own weird draft board that tends to look pretty different than the rest of the league. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, but on the whole it’s worked out pretty well so far.

Um...some of the "strangeness" you're seeing is probably because a few of your numbers are WAY off. Pretty sure you had some typos in making your list. There is not a draft board in the world that had Guerendo as high as 66 - he was around the 160s. Likewise, Cowing was generally ranked around the 130s or 140s. Honestly, that 443 for him was so far off it should have gotten your attention just from the absurdity of it - no one taken in the 4th was ranked anywhere near that low.
The absurdity of it was them drafting him over Jerry Rice son.

Cowing was projected to go in the 130s, pretty sure thats a typo from wherever you got the numbers. Other than that great vid always appreciate your analysis.
