i know his athleticism is insane from a numbers perspective but he doesn't look agile or explosive on the field and only gets anywhere when there's just a lot of space in front of him. i'm certain the 49ers only drafted him due to his performance at the combine because he does not pass the eye test at all.
We have CMC, Mitchell and Mason - all good RBs - not to mention Deebo. Is he a Juice backup? A RB pick feels like a wasted opportunity for this team.

For whatever there reasoning, underdog excluded him from all pre draft boards. They included him in one tournament "rookies and sophomore" which seemed to fill up in like 3 days so if you missed it, there's been no other such draft.

hes got the best rb coach in the league now, it should help him...long with now being able to learn from people that are good at his weaknesses
Who's that RB coach you mentioned?? I thought the Niners just had CMC & he makes them great, not that there was any great RB coaching involved.
@@Haleywouldbooby turner, hes been a shanahan rb coach since his dad was in denver if not before. hes been a rb coach his whole career, hes followed kyle also.....his list of rbs who have coached so many nobodies
@@imwithyou38 So he coached Terrell Davis?? That was one of the greatest RB seasons I have seen when he went for 2k yards AND won the SB!. Ridiculous! He hit 1,000 7 games in.. Truly special.

the niners position coaches are some of the best in the league.....shanahn is football royalty before he even became a HC....his close friends that could followed him to the 49ers, forester was blackballed from the industry becasue he got caught doing coke and taking to strippers at work and at the time he was the number 1 paid oline coach what i heard. kyle gave him a job until he understood the system and gave him the job. kris K wanted to follow kyle his first year he went to the niners but bears said no and left 2 years later. hes pumped out so many hc's its kinda ridiculous

Question Houston took J. Jordan late in the draft. He was able to hold off Guerendo at Louisville to an extent. Do you see anything in Jordan to get me excited about him? I’m certainly excited for Guerendo sooooo maybe?
Prototypical Shanahan RB pick (I know scouts have more to do with it)... makes me think we haven't had speed like this at RB since Mostert. If he stays healthier, can you imagine if we split the load 70/30 with McCaffrey? He has a ways to break into the line up with Mitchell and Mason in front of him for now. Not sure if he will do special teams or what the FO has in mind but I like the measurables at this pick. Didn't know he was also good at pass pro as well. Nice insurance plan as both CMC and Mitchell are injury prone. CMC showing more durability the last two years but at RB you never know. I've seen us get down to the 3rd string real fast before. Not sure who we'll keep though. Best. Go Niners!

It's possible this guy could be a true stud somewhere, but he could also be another Sean Tucker. (ton of potential but can't break out on the depth chart) He has to get semi-decent draft capital and land somewhere he has a chance to break out, and then he has to be obviously better than the guys ahead of him. I love the athletic profile though.
when you consider how good the 49ers OL is at run blocking, Guerendo could have a great career with the 49ers when you look at his size and speed. the 49ers now have 3 or 4 very good running backs...CMC, Mason, Mitchell and Guerendo.
I am PISSED the 49ers got him! Talk about the rich getting richer.. The Bucs got Bucky Irving so I am not THAT pissed, but I had Guerendo a little higher based on projection, but Irving's contact balance is next level for sure and by far the best in the class. To do that at 5' 9", 192lbs? 136 missed tackles over the last 2yrs?? Broken tackles GALORE! I think it should translate to the NFL, but damn that pass blocking is BAD for Irving.. The 49ers got a good one imo though. See you in the NFC Championship!
Now to see how the 49ers use him. I really like Elijah Mitchell but this guy is going to make things interesting as well, especially since CMC is getting older and can't play forever.
Don't sleep on Schrader either.. He's a beast and a perfect young RB to be groomed alongside CMC. He's also already the better just pure runner over Isaac. Guerendo has elite potential though if he continues to improve his vision especially as his measurables are obviously insane and he still has very low usage compared to his experience. I always liked Elijah as well but he's nearly impossible to count on being healthy for too long of a stretch so he's gone regardless soon. One thing is certain though, there's going to be some insane competition all throughout this Roster and a bunch of very tough decisions on who to cut.

Athleticism matters less for wrs. There is very clear athletic thresholds rbs must pass if they are ever going to be a successful
