CARTA: Examining the Uniqueness of Our Neanderthal Genes

  • The human genome contains segments of DNA with non-human origins. This introgressed genetic material is remnants of mating events between early modern humans and their archaic contemporaries (e.g., Neanderthals and Denisovans). In this talk, Andrew Schork will review the evidence for such genetic material, its consequences on phenotypic diversity in modern humans, and discuss if this process - archaic introgression - is typical among other great ape species. I have a question and I don't know if it's dumb, but here it goes... If mating occurs, and the offspring is fertile, then why do we say that they are different species? Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that both neanderthals and sapiens are only variations of a single species?

    I’ve been wondering for a while if neurodivergence has something to do with Neanderthal parts of our genome. It explains so much, like the double empathy problem, the persistence of autism as a condition because neurodiversity is proposed by evolutionary psychiatry as a benefit for a given population, and the sensory processing differences between autistic and allistic people. Has anyone looked at this as a research topic? Some say that being autistic feels like being from another planet, but perhaps it is because we are actually partially descended from a different human species✌️💕🌻

    • @abiolalapite2704
      @abiolalapite2704 6 місяців тому +4

      It's unlikely that anything of the sort is true, considering that the same conditions are also to be found in Africans who have minimal Neanderthal introgression in their DNA.

      @@buttercxpdraws8101And the evidence for your claim is, that „autists feel like they are from a different planet“ ? His objection was waaaay more coherent than your assumptions. But if you want to- feel free to feel like a Neanderthal. You are aiding in the proof of why they likely went extinct.

      @@buttercxpdraws8101you seem to be attributing these neurodiverse issues to Neanderthal DNA. He stated it appears in People from Africa which have very low amounts of Neanderthal DNA. Some new research show people of color having autism at a higher rate. Just my opinion, but double empathy might be more attributable to ethnic/cultural differences rather than Neanderthal admixture.

    Can Andrew - or anyone else - explain how the Annunaki/Nephilim model ties into this Evolutionary one?

    • @mario97br
      @mario97br 5 місяців тому +9

      Yes. People, mostly scientists, find bones and other biological remains, date them, analyze them and compare them to known physical evidence. If something is found, it can be categorized in the tree of life, that’s all known lifeforms and how they relate and descent from each other. So far no Annunaki/Nephilim have been found (except in some books, in the same manner as dragons, aliens, time travelers and so on), so it’s not possible to tie them in the bio-/paläoscientific models.

    The story of Adam and Eve is the story of the evolution of language and perspiration. Language allows us to discern right from wrong and good from evil. Adam’s nakedness was the loss of fur and the development of sweat. Eve’s curse of painful child birth was the result of the larger brain. Eve wasn’t one person, she was all of women kind up to that point in evolution. A day isn’t a twenty four hour period. It’s one/seventh of the total period of time of evolution. The chosen people were the humanoids who developed language. The lost tribes of Israel were those who went extinct which I believe included the Neanderthals.

      @@DogAmongMenDay is a old-germanic based word. The modern German is Tag for it. Daiye, deus, dios or however you want to write it, is the latinized/romanizied version of old Greek Zeus. These words have nothing in common, except similar sounds. It’s like saying, „common = come on“.

      If you see something, that is bad, do you „formulate“ out in your mind „this is bad“ and use this as a base to know, wether this is bad? Don’t people usually just get a feeling of „this is bad“, before they are able to grasp the situation and put it into words? Wouldn’t the feeling preceed the words in this case? Can a baby have negative emotions and discern good from bad? Or do you impose psychological non-existence to everything that is not able of clear speech?
