My mother and I were talking about Queen Elizabeth one day, and I said, “I don’t know how I’ll feel when she passes. She’s been ‘The Queen’ my entire life.” My mother (born in 1955) said, “She’s been ‘The Queen’ MY entire life!”
I’m sure she had her faults (after all, everyone does), but she truly spent her entire life fulfilling the duty that was decided for her decades ago.

The fact that this wonderful lady continued her duties, quite literally, until the day she died at 96, cannot be celebrated enough. There will never be another like her. May God rest her soul, and may her memories be a blessing.

I was an immigrant to Canada from Austria in 1952, I grew up paying homage to the Queen in school, Sunday School and she was in every Government buildings. In school we sang God Save the Queen along with the Lord’s Prayer every day. Needless to say, even though I now live in USA for 40 years, you can not take the Canada out of this gal. I follow the monarchy with love and affection, but have to keep it to myself.

Charles and Diana's marriage was arranged, Andrew and Fergie's was not and both were failures. So, the Queen, in my opinion, should not be blamed, and not for Margaret and Anne's s failures either.

You’re leaving out context though. The marriage was arranged and Charles did not want to marry her, he was already in love with Camilla but the queen rejected their relationship, so I think it is fair to put blame on her for that.

It was only because of Andrew’s endless infidelities that she and Charles later reinitiated their relationship - Andrew, by all accounts, was the love of her life.
So let’s not pretend the Queen had anything to do with that messy ménage à trois: there were three adults in the equation and they were quite capable of conducting their own affairs, totally independently of Her Majesty or anything she might think.
After all, if the Queen had had control over Charles and his relationships - as you so fallaciously suggest - I think it’s fair to say she would have banned him from continuing his affair with Camilla given the harm it was doing to the standing of the monarchy. But she didn’t, because she couldn’t: Charles did as he pleased, as indeed did Camilla; and the Queen was in no way responsible for their actions.

@@ForGodAndTheEmpire I am so glad you explained that. You are right, in your facts and your opinions, IMO. Camilla lived, and strongly pursued Andrew. Charles was a distraction at best. He did really try with Diana, who I did love. But I saw pictures of them on vacation early on, and they did have a good relationship at one time. He tried more than anyone gave him credit for. The Queen did what a monarch would do, tried to keep it together. Diana was simply very young, and overwhelmed. Also remember that Queen Elizabeth was recorded saying that "And I don't like Camilla". Then years later had to publicly and I think privately, finally take Charles feelings into account, and approve Camilla. Queen did make mistakes where all this was concerned but ultimately did the right thing by her family. I think her memory should not be slandered over this. She behaved...like the true Queen that she was. I really enjoyed your post. 😊

@@d8456 The woman who accused him of having sex with her while she was underage accepted a settlement (the money paid her was from personal funds). The Queen fired Prince Andrew from his Royal duties (his job), and stripped him of many of his titles. I agree with you that wealthy people do get a break when it comes to their crimes (this is a world wide problem, because life isn’t fair, and money talks). However, the woman did not have to accept the settlement. She could have waived the settlement in lieu of arrest and a trial, but chose not to (probably because she would have had to prove a lot of things in a trial, as is incumbent on the prosecution). This was her decision, and I think she probably asked for advice from her lawyer(s), and may or may not have taken the advice given her, as happens in all cases. Although the wealthy get a break when it comes to their crimes, the western system of justice is the ONLY system of justice where a man like Andrew has to answer, in any way, for his past actions. The monetary settlement may not be an acceptable penalty to you, but then, you weren’t the one being prostituted, as a child, to older men. The victim is the person who matters the most! The perpetrator(s) matter too, but should never matter more than the victim(s). Finally, the poor, and middle class, people do get a break under the Western Law. In America, child molesters have been getting a break for years by being let out of prison, instead of serving a life sentence. The perpetrators of rape rarely get caught, let alone, serve a life sentence. A lot of criminals go unpunished-poor, middle class, and wealthy. Finally, I don’t think Andrew went unpunished for his actions.
I’m not quite sure what further outcome you expect, but the law was followed.

HRH Queen Elizabeth of England and her Commonwealth’s countries was my Mum’s and my favorite lovely lady. She always wore her hair in The Queen’s same style and was very proud that she had the same hair color. She also had her front room furnished with the same Queen Anne’s furniture. Even though my treasured Mum has passed her influence has helped to mold my life. I love HRH Queen Elizabeth as I know so many do. I miss HRH Queen Elizabeth but I know even Almighty God blessed us with her very special presence in this life.

I’ve always admired and liked the Queen. She has done a fabulous job for being so young when she was given the responsibility of running the Country. So sad that she in her later years had to experience the corruption and scandal of her kids; especially Charles and Andrew.
