What makes her voice so unique is that she could sing anything from Jazz, Contemporary, 50-60's classics, R & B, it didn't matter. Were she alive today to know how important her music became to people and the fame she has, she would be embarrassed by it all. She lived life in a simple way, but when she picked up her guitar, sat in front of a mike, opened her mouth and the music reached your ears, she was in a world of pure beauty and pure special. We have had special entertainers who have graced us with some of the best songs going, and now Eva is with them, and I would almost imagine, she's giving them lessons on how to pour your soul into the music.
You are so right, Bill Pate. Your imagination is spot on. Just wait! :-) /\
She was one the greatest of all time and i play her songs on trumpet all the time!
Eva Cassidy was beyond category-a unique talent. RIP.
Absolutely gorgeous voice. Goosebumps.
Eva sings this song as if it was written for her voice. I listen to this song when I'm feeling down or when I'm cleaning my home. She nails the vocals. But I'm not surprised because of her vocally rich palette. She could sing the names in the phone book and it would still sound fantastic.
🔥🔥👌 God damn what singer
What a voice! 🔥
She could make the old Mitch turtle dance I swear!!! TY for sharing!!! 😍🌹
What a fantastic singer. RIP you were great.
*Eva Cassidy forever in my memory! From Russia with love!*

Awesome cover by Eva Cassidy! She just knew how she wanted to sing her songs!
Beautifully sung by Eva 😇
She has a gorgeous voice and also reminds me of Alison Krauss
Sad loss to music.. All the good ones die young.. But what legend lives on go and rock on and what a session.
When I get to heaven I want to hear Eva Cassidy and Dusty Springfield sing this for us all in choir robes redesigned for style and elegance by Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballe.
DanBdx68 - Thrilled to have Janis Joplin aboard. Perhaps members of the choir can take turns fronting the rest of us by presenting their best work.
Bobbie Gentry sang it too. Did a good job of it too. From the Mississippi Delta where this song came from. Remember her?
Well that just rocks.
Great version ☺
Love this gal.❤😊

Who are you? You are amazing. I’m sorry I don’t know you. I was looking for who sung son of a preacher man the best. You blew it out of the water. It’s a song that is sexy but from a woman’s heart. I’m a ol small town boy that traveled well. You hit everything you was supposed to do in my eyes. Really good.
Awesome song ❤
Well done.
Billy Ray was the preacher's son and when his daddy would visit he'd come along
When they gathered around and started talking
That's when Billy would take me walking
Out through the backyard we'd go walking
Then he'd look into my eyes
Lord knows to my surprise
The only one who could ever teach me was the son of a preacher man
Only boy who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was he was oh you know he was
Being good isn't always easy no matter how hard I try
When he started sweet talking to me
Tell me everything is alright he'd kiss and tell me everything is alright
Can I get away again tonight?
The only one who could ever teach me was the son of a preacher man
The only boy who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was he was oh you know he was
Oh
The only one who could ever teach me was the son of a preacher man
Only boy who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was he was oh you know he was
How well I remember the look that was in his eyes
Stealing kisses from me on the sly
Taking time to make time telling me that he's all mine
Learning from each other's knowing
Looking to see how much we're growing
And the only one who could ever teach me was the son of a preacher man
Only boy who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was he was oh you know he was
The only one who could ever teach me was the son of a preacher man
Only boy who could ever reach me was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was he was oh you know he was

Great Song Thank you Baby 💋👀🖤😊
I LOVE YOU...
💜💜💜
What a Fabulous lady, and what a magnificent voice, pity she didn't have a guitarist to match her.
You wouldn’t know a great guitarist if you fell over one - great playing !
@@alanmaxted6215 don't get me wrong she does play the guitar Very well but for 'this' song it just didn't work out.
Oh by the way I enjoy, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes,Gary Clarke Jr, Joe Bonnamassa, John Mayer,Kent Nishimura. All lousy guitarists in your opinion I'm guessing 😉
Hell I don’t know what you look like. Anyway damn girl your voice and picking. I can tell it’s you picking..
Yihaa.
:)
Give her some whiskey.. it could be better.. it's just fake..
There was NO THING fake about Eva Cassidy. Watch the video made by band members.
