  • West Metro was one of dozens of fire agencies that sent firefighters and engines to assist in Boulder County on the #MarshallFire. We've been asked what it was like on the front line. To answer that, in this video- hear from three West Metro firefighters who were in Division Tango, in a neighborhood in Louisville. See what they saw.

It is so powerful for us to see these images. I'm sure it is painful for those who see their homes burning in the video, for those who were on the wrong sides of the lines. But there are so many lines around town: fences burned where backyards are spared, the whole street burned until one point, where I've just known those are the marks of all the firefighting. Each structure saved was an engine, a team, hosing it down, making a good choice on where it could stop, staying there until the embers stopped flying. Thank you. More videos like this, if possible; we see the aftermath and it is so healing to see the work that saved so much.

The fireman was considerate and turned the loud sirens off. Those sirens are sure annoying!
