Honestly, I didn't have that much hope RTD could _do anything_ by the time Jodie Whitaker was out. Jodie had already ruined the show by completely shattering 50 years of lore, so either RTD had to retcon it (which was what should've happened when Tennant and Tate were brought back) which could only ever win back a small portion of the fanbase, or he'd have to work with it. RTD decided to work with it, and to declare war on the fans while he was at it. Before him were two choices: bring happiness to the fans who felt betrayed, or just tank the show and burn it to the ground just to get in a final jab at those fans. He chose the latter. That should tell you everything you need to know about the people behind modern TV and movie studios.
IMO the episode was fun and interesting, you're watching a review from a channel that basically does nothing but shit on the show for being inclusive. hell, even when he's not talking about such "woke" scenes (see devina mccall and Ruby in the debut of the goblins) he still has to crack a remark about "the checkboxes" bc everything is just an outlet for him to say something bigoted. I want the Dr Who of the Seventies & Early Eighties Again, but with proper VFX. It was Gung Ho with Violence, Horror, Explosions, Fighting and Rayguns. The Doctor used Martial Arts or Shot Dead the baddies. Themes included Genocide, Assassination, War, Disease, Elite Military Groups, Mad Scientists and Invasion. Genesis of the Daleks Frankly had more in Common with a Gun Range. Resolution of Stories nearly always included Mass Destruction. THAT was Dr Who , NOT the Current Vile Bucket of Woke Vomit. Always and forever Thank You, BowlesTrek, for reviewing what used to be Doctor Who.
Surely Chibnall should also share some of the blame for this tho? Whittaker didn’t write any of the script (afaik that is)
RTD could have saved it. He deliberately decided to put the final nail in the coffin. That makes him worse in my eyes.

@@thego-o-dstuff1036 If she was eaten as a baby, then the Doctor wouldn't have met her, nor known her.
