Went to their live concert in Amsterdam yesterday and afterwards they showed up at the bar we were at. They were SO nice and just chilled with everyone! The drummer bought me a beer and I think that’s really cool :’)
Reply to Linda F: I could listen to Allah Las nearly everyday. Great to "meet" another AL fan. I find True Widow also has some good chill-out music. Please be safe in these uncertain times. Prayers & mental hug for you 2020 & beyond.(EDIT) Covid-19 tried to kill me in March. Took 3 weeks recovery, prayer, aspirin, fluids & rest at home. Relax, recharge, pamper yourself & don't give up. Attitude is half of the healing process.
I've become a big fan of this group. I'm in my 60's now, and they remind me of a combination of the Animals, Byrds, 13th Floor Elevators, The Seeds and Chocolate Watch Band from the 60's. Tight rhythms, simple but solid tunes.
Guitar in 1st song reminds me "It's my life" The Animals. Virtually all songs (and guitar riffs) smells like clothes from old wardrobe. BTW - I'm now 69 and it's (almost) OK.
alll never understand why there isn't a award show for all these youtube sensations, wonderful bands, you just don't hear this on the main radio stations today's music sucks, these guys are fantastic..
Because Radio in general is gone! Stations are going bankrupt and many former rock stations that were instrumental in playing new bands are shutting down!
Today's radio stations just SUCK! Here in Los Angeles we had KROQ, when KROQ was an independent station they were awesome then they got bought. Today that station is just a shell of it's former self, all commercialized, playlists and unbearable to listen to.
One thing that makes Allah las such a great band is their tight Rhythm section. And I mean tight. Reminds me of CCR in the way that they're so very well stable. Love these guys
@@ronniecompton5479 Was turned on BJTM from the Documentary "Dig" with the Danny warhols. Love all that Psychedelic 2 wave rock stuff. The Cult were another band that had a Psychedelic vibe. At least on the Love album.🍄 The Allah las have alot of "The Doors" sound going on.
Saw these guys and talked with them after the show. The kindest band to ever reach out to its fans, thanks for the memories that your music has brought to the lives of my friends and family.
Sacred sands has the feeling to the be played at multiple occasions, but one of my recent ones was having my first new year at my first apartment, right when 12 struck right before going into 2020. The shrooms had kicked in and sacred sands felt so universal, I felt like a dog in a park, all the fireworks popping off around us.
Such a throw back. I heard one of their songs on a Distinguished Gentleman's Ride promotional video and thought it was an old 60's tune I'd somehow missed.
Harlen Helen try The Everywheres, Cool Ghouls and Magic Castles, you might like them, especially The Everywheres. These dudes sound pretty good. "someone disappeared" is a good song to start. Let me know what you think!
+Harlen Helen I guarantee you've heard of the growlers, but if not, check them out. Also check out Mr Elevator and the Brain Hotel, they're rad as shit
I ain't gonna lie my 1 year old nephew had my phone and clicked on this song which I don't know about, and he even left it on your comment 💜 seems like a sign I totally agree with you that would be nice to do💯
I bought your record 3 months back...and I have to say that I'm collecting LP's for 10 years now and there are only a few records, which I can listen completely to....it's simple...It's california...surf...blues...folk...love.....nice....thank you for this...If you're around Hamburg/Germany once let me know... peace paul
Love these guys! Nice to hear garage rock is alive and well. I kind of like the fact that these guys are not super-slick and polished; just having a good time playing their songs. Thanks for posting!
It doesn't get any better than this: solid playlist, multitalented band & KEXP. Excellent post! EDIT: Sounding GOOD in 2020. My apology for double post/my phone does this a lot. Yet, if any band deserves a double post, it's these guys.
I regret not seeing these a year or two ago in Dublin. None of my friends were fans and I didn't want to go alone. Now they're all fans and want to see them play. For all those unsure about doing something along, if you masturbate, then there's no shame in doing anything else on your own. Especially if it's going to see a great show
Playing this in 2024 and it's pure gold
these guys have me feeling like i’m sat on a yacht in the ocean when in reality i’m stuck doing homework
The audio engineer (Kevin Suggs) deserves credit for how well these guys sound.
Hell yes, it sounds amazing.
You're absolutely right! Tell Me What's On Your Mind sounds way better live than the studio recording
Absolutely! KEXP needs to interview the entire sound crew, do a behind the scenes peek at how they do the magic! Do it KEXP, we all want to know!
Legit this sounds infinitely better than their studio albums. The records sound so flat by comparison. Glad I heard this first!
your definately his cousin
it's never late to find such a gem

Closed my eyes and all my anxiety was gone. Covid 19, your days are numbered. Thanks guys.

Thank you Robin Garrison. I doing fine now. Hope your felling well. What a horrible thing covid is to battle. I will check out Widow. Stay safe.
Check out the growlers

the Seeds ! You've nailed it !
Yes...these guys take me back to the 60s. Love it
and the remains
Guitar in 1st song reminds me "It's my life" The Animals. Virtually all songs (and guitar riffs) smells like clothes from old wardrobe. BTW - I'm now 69 and it's (almost) OK.
...with a touch of Jefferson Airplane as well
Still replaying this in 2022! Best performance ever!
Same :-)

You cant give awards to real art.
Kenneth Lauer I like that sentence

@@kennethlauer4735 well said;. you hit it right on the money.
So good, so 60`s. Simple , poetic & melodious.
Discovering this in 2021... Precious!!!
i discovered this band thanks to my daughter, and though im old, i enjoy their music with the youth left in my heart, love it!
kexp's sound engineers at it again... with the gold standard that is
So pure and so simple...this group sounds so vintage.
Love it
sacred sands is the pure quality
Can you imagine sitting down one day and writing a Sacred fucking Sands?
It's just so pure and flowing, oh my god
been coming back to this for years and years. since when did 2013 feel old??? jeez
allah las and old school KEXP.... perfection.
One thing that makes Allah las such a great band is their tight Rhythm section. And I mean tight. Reminds me of CCR in the way that they're so very well stable. Love these guys
ayyeee jason lmao wassup bruh
Strongly agree with u. As it reminds me of CCR

The version just before catamaran is so damn killer!!! Need a release...
Sacred sands has crazy sound and chord arrangement
I couldn't agree more
Yep. Outta sight !
I love this sound. It's Stones/Beatles 1964 all over again but made new. It's fresh. It's a sound that will always please my ears. Good on 'em.
I listern to thier album atleast 3 times a week since 2 years.
jesus this is just incredible. such pure, dank, cali music, one of the only good things about america.
I wanna live in Cali and smoke herb to this 😓
Con loro un tuffo negli anni sessanta che roba ragazzi! Saluti dall' Italia ciao!
24:48 is a straight BOP! Great intro for Catamaran.
This Band is AMAZING ! They have got a Brian jonestown massacre Vibe. Love this stuff.🤘
Brian Jonestown isn't given enough credit for keeping this genre alive

This is the best band and music from America. Well done guys - swing from the heart) All the best to you and new songs✌️
Their sound is just magic. One of the best band ever 😎
Have you heard of the 1960’s?

No wonder. The dudes look so calm, relaxed and friendly. Not pretentious at all.
The soundtrack of the '60s in 2013. I dig it.
With KEXP, any room can sound as good as a studio!
Ce live est fantastique ! Ce groupe joue une musique intemporelle et la prise de son est ici absolument parfaite !!
My favorite KEXP performance.
Amazing vibes, as if they were not trying to play to anyone but themselves. Loved it (:
absolutly fanastic!!!songs long time goes in my ears 😊❤❤
I still listen to this first album all the time. Great for road trips.
In my opinion the best live take of this band so far! :)
Since 2013 listening the same album, great guy!
Guys, it sounds like 60s music and I've been a total fan of it for almost 10 years now! 🎼🎶🤪🎸
Que delicia de som. Minha descoberta de 2020. Brazil aqui. Pra ver, nem tudo é tragédia. ❤
só em 2023 :(
amazing folks got that thang again. that thang that had gone with the wind. now that thang is here again. thanks folks
I'm moving to California. Gonna get me a twelve string guitar and hang out with these guys.
years pass by but this still so fresh
60´s one more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( 60´s foreverrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Pedrum’s solo that starts at 23:38 blows my mind every time
Best band I heard in the last 15 years or so. Been listening to their album almost every day for weeks. 🎸😎
You should try The Frights they are more surf punk but a great band that’s newer.
Found these guys yesterday, fantastic finding more and more songs of theirs.
so glad i stumbled upon this guys.. my god!
*upon THESE guys

This production is 10/10. Perfect, thanks!
Fantastic band and one of the hottest in The Netherlands at this moment. Can't wait for the next album!
24:26 I am completely in love. god knows how much I love allah las
Harnessing the best of the Chocolate Watch Band and the Warlocks.... The Allah-La's are what we all need now. Grooooooove.
Me siento flotando en el mar con esta banda, LOS AMO! 💛🌊🌻

there's easier ways of telling us you're gay brother..
Such a throw back. I heard one of their songs on a Distinguished Gentleman's Ride promotional video and thought it was an old 60's tune I'd somehow missed.
I've been looking for a band that could sound similar to Mystic Braves. I know these guys probably came first, but thank fuck I've found them.
Harlen Helen try The Everywheres, Cool Ghouls and Magic Castles, you might like them, especially The Everywheres. These dudes sound pretty good. "someone disappeared" is a good song to start. Let me know what you think!
Ooooh, I am really digging "Someone Disappeared." I will definitely check out more from these guys and the others that you suggested. Thank you! :D
Harlen Helen hey that's cool. You're welcome :)
+Harlen Helen I don't think they're similar to MB ahueioaea
Actually, they aren't hehe
+Harlen Helen I guarantee you've heard of the growlers, but if not, check them out. Also check out Mr Elevator and the Brain Hotel, they're rad as shit
These guys are incredible live; just saw them in there recent tour and was perfection
why are people so angry, everybody should just lay down on a sunny field and smile, peace

Catalina best song
Gianluca Passeroni I prefer Sacred Sands.
Now I wanna see Allah Las in a bike shop.
These guys are very steady and their sound is theirs, not a studio trick.
This is too good for words.
their sound is so dirty clean... if it makes sense... amazing, love at first listen
Dirty clean!!! 🐾🧼 🤭🤭🤭
They've got magic.
I agree. They seem to have that indefinable "it" factor. They are, as a group of musicians, very very good.
Agreed.

Buena música saludos desde guanajuato México
I like this band !!! Very much !!!!
I've never been to California but I can imagine this to it's soundtrack
world class..
Great Concert, Thanks For Sharing

So true haha. Plus you won't exactly end up in a mosh pit with these guys, I imagine that the atmosphere at their shows is pretty chilled.
+Zakaria Meddings I seen play a NYE show and they were awesome and it was chill. If you go to a growlers show you will end up in a shoving match lol.
+Joanna Luna when was that? I really want them to come to London but it doesn't look like thats gonna happen, oh well.
+Zakaria Meddings I seen the Allah-Las NYE 2014 in San Francisco
True
I've been to 3 concerts by myself. My friends let me down at the last minute; but that didn't stopped me, and I had a blast.
