I’ve used my 26L GR2 and nomadic 30 as a personal item on spirit. They both fit under the seat.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bags, great to hear the nomatic is another option that works in addition to the gr2!

I use a GR2 34L, every tme, even in more stringent foreign countries. Goes right under the seat, even fully packed. I fly every month or 2, international

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience! Great to hear it’s worked so well internationally, I’ve had great experiences with the 26l as a personal item and the 34 as a carry on, will definitely be included in part 2’s list!

I have watched both this and part two of your bag reviews and will say your reviews are the best i have seen...one caveat would be to show each bag interior in a bit more detail and include dimensions and weight of bag

What would be so helpful to know, for both the daily carry and one bag segment, is whether a bag has LOCKABLE ZIPPERS. I’m fine with adding my own locks.
Most reviewers don’t address this. And many manufacturers don’t highlight this feature. Often, you can’t see the zippers in the photos on their website.
I passed on the tb2 Never Check for this reason, even though I otherwise love the bag, especially the gussets. I also passed on the Minaal, with regret, for a few reasons, but would like to point out that Minaal does something that should become industry standard, imo, which is to hide a slim zippered, invisible pocket on the BACK of the bag, the part that presses up against your back. This is a great security feature.
I ended up going with a Travelon backpack, even though it’s not my favorite, because of the lockable zippers, petite size, and slash resistant fabric.
Thank you Danny! Your reviews are always very informative.

Thanks for the comparison. I like the Aer City bag but why is it so heavy? For a carryon it takes up 1.1kg out of a 7-8kg allowance. They have other bags with larger capacity and half the weight. So, I’m baffled.
    Aer City Pack
    Dimensions:
    Length: 18" (46 cm)
    Width: 12" (30 cm)
    Depth: 5" (12.5 cm)
    Volume: 14 L
    Weight: 1.1kg

If I’m going just for personal item on a budget airline, I need to maximize volume. Greenroom 136 rainmaker Large is good for that purpose.

Thanks for the video! Here in Germany the under seat restrictions are always that small, so I really appreciate the video. I can’t bring my city pack pro as a personal item, so I consider getting a smaller backpack

Any carry on or personal item backpack without a HORIZONTAL luggage passthrough strap is an instant rejection from me. Every seasoned traveler understands the importance of being able to put their backpack through a trolley handle with the backpack facing UP like its meant to be. I don't want to have to be running around the airport hauling family and having all kinds of things to deal with whilst trying to wrestle passports, tickets or other important items out of a backpack that's ON ITS SIDE with a vertical passthrough strap. It further just defeats the purpose of having a vertical bottle pocket if you can't have the extra security of actually using it while its standing vertically and have to risk keeping it on its side while you're banging around everywhere running to places.
Aer is notorious for this, its form over function. I've contacted them before and told them how they can change this ideocracy in their next gen backpacks. Just do a little more work as designers and stop being lazy or wanting to be "different" for the sake of being different. And this is coming from a veteran manufacturing and design product manager.

Thank you for watching and great point on this! I’ve noticed it more and more on my trips and it’s one of the things I really factor in when taking both luggage and backpack
