ive only played diablo 3 in the series but that was years ago. I started a story marathon recently since i bought D4 from winter sale and ive just reached D3. While i really enjoyed 1 and 2, its the simplicity of 3 as well as the QoL that makes it the most fun game for me right now. They were going to have PvP in D3 but they cut it before launch. They said D3 needed internet due to security reasons. As a result however, Error 37 went rapid among players. The Real money auction proved that Blizzard made pay to win games before they were cool, people didn't like the change in the art style, and many veteran players felt the story didn't come up to par with D2 and was also too easy so many people started going to Path of Exile during that time. For some reason though, I still like D3 despite all of those controversial issues with the game.
For sure, the game Diablo 3 is now is so much different from what it was when it launched. Definitely doesn't invalidate anyone who isn't happy with Diablo 4 right now, but also, it will be a completely different game in a year or two. It's already evolving. I'm really struggling with Diablo IV. it's 15 hours in, level 33, and still in Act I. Everything takes forever, and it feels like a slog to go anywhere. Side quests are just time wasters and the open world feels more like padding that a real improvement. Diablo III was faster, more fun, and more action-packed. You felt powerful, and you could slay out even at lower levels. Diablo IV isn't like that. It feels like work. No power-ups, no speed boosts, no good loot, like the soul has been ripped out of the game. I would recommend Diablo III - the ultimate evil edition, specifically - to everyone who might want to try an ARPG. It's fast, it's fun, and you can pause the game. This is a pure form of Diablo, made before "modern gaming" took hold. Diablo IV... I recommend it to people who need to fill their days like streamers/content creators. It is not casual friendly, and you cannot even pause the game. It's basically the "modern gaming" Diablo complete with a cash shop, grind and more work than fun.
Yeah, they are two very different games, that's for sure! Keep in mind Diablo III has had 12 years to get to the state it's in now and there were definitely a lot of complaints people had about it back in the day. For sure though, if you're not having fun with Diablo IV, it's so nice to have a fall back, right haha? If you're interested, we just released a video about our tips to having fun with Diablo IV from the perspective of the roughly 70% of players that haven't finished the campaign yet!
@@YourFNGamers That's a good point. I loved Diablo III most later on. I liked D3, but didn't love it. Reaper of Souls and the ultimate evil edition are the refinement/expansion that the game needed. I think I played the most Diablo III in 2019-2021, when the game was arguably at its best / most refined state. I'm confident Diablo IV will change/evolve in the next 6-18 months. :)
The gameplay loop is better in D3. Even though the endgame is just running greater rifts, it's faster paced and the loot grind feels more satisfying. It wasn't like this at the start. D3 vanilla was garbage that was worth one playthrough, but the game has improved. I expect the same to happen to D4, but it might take a year until we get close to something as satisfying as blasting through rifts in D3
@@Mylada Well said. I remember D3 without adventure mode... ugh... It's like "so you just beat the campaign; would you like to beat it again one world tier up?". No... no, I don't believe I will. :P Adventure mode and rifts were the fast-paced and fun endgame I still like to this day.
The short answer is no but it's a little bit more complicated than that. Essentially, seasons are a chance to go from zero to hero again on a fresh character. Most of the time, they have a little gimmick to change that experience for people who have done it before, but for many of the seasons, they would add things like some new legendary items or a new type of treasure goblin which are still in the game to this day. So if you create a new seasonal character today, you'll only have access to season 28, but you will be playing in a game that has continued to evolve through each season and has kept many of the things added in previous seasons. I've heard that they plan to rotate back through the non-permanent seasonal gimmicks in future seasons, so in theory, you'll have access to all of those eventually.
I bought this game when it came out played for about a month and stopped Just installed it again and can't put it down! I plan on picking up four after that
Diablo 3's console version was designed specifically for console and Diablo 4 was developed with consoles in mind, so both play wonderfully on console. I've played Diablo 3 on PC as well, but personally prefer it on console. I haven't played Diablo 4 on PC so I can't speak to that, but overall, both games play very well and I have had a ton of fun with them on console. Diablo 3 has the benefit of having had 12 years worth of updates and expansions put into it, while Diablo 4 is the newer and does some different things with the game. I don't think you could go wrong with either, so it really comes down to which one you like the look of and find yourself wanting to play more.
@@YourFNGamers thank you for your response! Times change, when Pros like you and others play on consoles Diablo because the old games from the late 90s that I barely remember were only available for PC. Playing with a controller will be a plus for already "old" chaps like me! Thank you once again :)
Diablo 4 was my first venture into the Diablo series, and it’s been amazing. I went to try Diablo 3 for the story and uninstalled the game after about an hour. It just doesn’t do it for me after D4
It's definitely hard to go back to older entries in any series. I'm the same way with Diablo 2. Diablo 3 was my first game in the series and I can get why people loved D2 back in the day, but after D3, it just doesn't do it for me. Same with other series like Hitman. I played the World of Assassination trilogy first and going back to the remasters of Blood Money and Absolution is rough.
I want to get into Diablo should I get 4 or just get 2 resurrected? I herd 2 is like the Goat of Diablo I've also herd 3 is worse than 2 and 4 is worse than both
In my opinion, there's no bad choice. There's a vocal minority of angsty gamers that gatekeep the Diablo series and love to hate on any game that isn't Diablo 2, but I personally ignore them. Diablo 2 Resurrected is a great game, but it also feels very old, as it did originally come out in 2000. Diablo 3 is a ton of fun and the Diablo game I've played the most, so I think you'd have fun there. Diablo 4 is also great, has a lot of cool features, and is currently getting new content, so it's also a fantastic choice, as it will only get better. Even Diablo Immortal can be fun if you want to try out a free mobile version of Diablo. Just take a look at some trailers and choose the one that looks the coolest to you. Or pick up whatever is on sale and see if you like it!
D3, D2 and all dlcs are £17 GBP on the e-store right now. I am purchasing 🎉 I was into Baldurs Gate bitd but I think recall playing OG Diablo on a PC I soon melted. The Nintendo Switch is such a great format for the og games. A hacked PSP may have a worthy successor. A hacked DS was good butbthe PSP is more versatile. However, still relatively small screen size esp for text. OG PC on the go gameplay is possible on Switch. The screen size and quality is dope. Torchlight and Terraria are bomb. Siberia and Cult Sim are legible. Now if i can hakck it to play PS demon chaos, onimusha, tokyo jungle etc, it would be perfect, almost. Ive bought so many copies of the same damned games on different formats Its a pirate's lide for me Ooh arrgh matey!
My old xbox account disappeared for some odd reason so this will be like playing it for the first time in 2023 lol. It might be time to dust off Bea Arthur the monk in 2023. It still looks fun in the video. I'm not a huge fan of 4 It made me sleepy lol.
First, it depends on if you play on PC or console. I don't believe PC has an offline mode, but all of the console versions do. If you are playing on console then yes, I personally think you will be fine! I enjoyed the story and you will still be enjoying the benefits of years of updates and features from previous seasons. The seasonal characters are more designed for when you want a fresh start and a new tweak to how you play the game, so if you start having that itch, that whole side of things is available to you as well (also offline if you're on console).
yeah i will be playing on my first every XBOX series s console. hehe thank you so much. i just want to experience a game that i will be relax. thanks @@YourFNGamers
Awesome! Diablo 3 is definitely a solid one to start with since it's regularly on sale and has 12 years worth of improvements that have been added. If you have game pass, Diablo 4 is on there, so that's a great option, and even if not, I personally really love it. Diablo 2 is a little rough to get into since it's an old game that's been remastered, but a lot of people love it. All great options!
Been playing this game since day 1, and still not sick of it. Have no intention of getting 4, as it looks like it would feel like a major downgrade, in quality of game.
If you have no nostalgia for Diablo 2, I'd recommend giving Diablo 3 a try as I personally think it's a much more streamlined, modern, and fun experience. If you loved D2 back in the day or just want to try it out and see if you stick with it or bounce off it before playing something with some quality of life improvements, then you might want to start with D2R.
@@YourFNGamers I've been giving D3 more of a try on Necromancer. Just started on Act 2, it does seem like a good "video watching" game where I can mostly turn my brain off and listen to a video. I was able to get D2R and D3(and its expansions) for like $7 a couple months ago. I know it was for the upcoming release of D4 but that's a crazy amount of content for dirt cheap. Thanks as well
This game is at 20 Euros along with d2r. Still debating, i have so many stuff to play that i dont know if i should bite the promotion, or save my money hehe (playing Monster Hunter World atm)
Ahh, definitely a tough decision. Monster Hunter World is my favorite game and basically the only game I played in 2018 so it would definitely be easy to save your money and get so much value out of it, haha!
I was thinking of giving d3 another chance. Ive had my original pre ordered copy sitting in the back of my closet since launch day, when i played it through once, uninstalled it, and never touched it again. Legitimately one of the most profoundly disappointing experiences of my life. Here's to hoping not to relive that pain after a decade of patches and updates
While I can't guarantee that it'll be for you, it is a vastly different game than it was at launch. I also played when it originally came out, beat it, and didn't touch it for awhile. When the console versions came out I picked it back up and tried out the seasonal content and loved it.
Why did you ruin major parts of the story without a spoiler warning. Thanks, it’s not worth playing if I know the end to the main campaign. I get that the villains name is in the title, but what a let down. I just wanted gameplay info👎
Here's the thing, the game is 12 years old and I'm going not going to go out of my way to avoid spoilers because someone on the internet might decide to play that game somewhere down the line. While I understand you may be disappointed, accept some responsibility for your actions. There are chapters in the video labeled as "Story" and "Gameplay" so you chose to not skip the story one. You chose to click on videos without adding "spoiler free" to the search if you're that concerned about it. You chose to look for info on a 12 year old game on the internet. I'm sorry you feel the game is no longer worth playing because a game called "Diablo 3" has you fight Diablo at the end, but I'm not interested in not being allowed to talk about games I love on our UA-cam channel just in case Kiwas11 could play the game one day.
I played some Diablo 2 back in the day before the remaster came out and have played some of the remaster, too. For me personally, I like a lot of the more modern systems and mechanics in Diablo 3 and 4 better, but Diablo 2 is still loved by a ton of people! I'm glad they did the remaster so more people will check it out!
@YourFNGamers it funny that they had to remove the auction house from 3, then they double down and add a straight-up store to 4. It's actually ridiculous and needs to be addressed and removed from the game. It's a huge issue, I guess people are so used to seeing it in warzone and fortnite that it just gets (battle)pass but these systems have no place in a single player oriented game. gaming as a whole is pretty toxic anymore.
The auction house in Diablo 3 where you could sell actual in game items and the in-game cosmetic store in Diablo 4 are so wildly different that it surprises me that you would even compare the two. I can sympathize with the people who want to be able to play solo offline and get frustrated when server issues prevent that, but for me personally, Diablo 4 having an in-game cosmetic store that I can easily ignore and a battle pass that gives bonus cosmetics to people who pay for it have absolutely zero impact on my enjoyment of the gameplay and story. While I want to acknowledge that for you, it sounds like it's hampering your enjoyment of the game, I personally don't find this to be "a huge issue" or making gaming "toxic" and judging from the success of the game it seems like these aren't issues for average gamers, just what I would consider to be a toxic vocal minority that love to leave comments on the internet.
@YourFNGamers lol you doing damage control for blizzard is hilarious. Since you make money from their ip, it doesn't surprise me you have no integrity in regards to the blatant manipulated cosmetics. Lol "so what if they sell armored sets and loot in a game about armored sets and loot right? Just ignore the store" Seems legit. " ignore the store" is the go to phrase for shills ruining gaming in the modern era. Are they selling skill points yet? Guaranteed that will be a thing. Why play the game when you can buy paragon levels with real money? Lol shill much?
@YourFNGamers if they want a cosmetic store, the game should be free to play. Not $70. Blizzard wants their cake and to eat it too. People saying it's good is different from it actually being good. Once the rose tinted glasses come off, most people will realize how screwed they are getting.
Probably that they get to decide what a Diablo game is since they are making it. Sounds like it just wasn't what YOU were looking for in a Diablo game.
I haven't played that one but I have played a bunch of Diablo-style games like Fate, Torchlight, Warhammer 40k Inquisitor, and Warhammer Chaosbane to name a few! There are a ton out there!
Yeah, the bones are the same, but it is a very different game than Diablo 4, haha. It's also changed a lot since it launched, so I'm excited to see how Diablo 4 keeps evolving.
@YourFNGamers tbh after hours of d4 and d3. They're not much different at all infact everything about the game is just renamed and reskinned with a worse ui. I love both games and I'm currently playing d4 everyday but I got to be honest d3 is the better game atm 😅
@@modernlegend_gaminggive it a year and it won’t even be a question they are taking D4 way more seriously than they ever took D3, they made a billion in the first week, the sales are absolutely telling that there’s more demand for Diablo then ever before, this game will take off, I mean the devs so far have been listening and even in the live stream for season 1 said they will be addressing major complaints in seasons 2-3 due to season 1 being already in development when the game out they can’t make drastic changes straight away, but if you look at side by side which game launched with what and you will see quickly there’s no doubt D4 is way better and 2x the more abilities and things to do.
I still can't believe they went from d1 and d2 to this aberration of a game that is supposed to be in the same franchise. that gameplay footage at the beginning is just disgusting.
@@YourFNGamers Objectively speaking - D3 development was created by deceiving the fanbase, and delivering not only an unfinished product - but a completely different one than anticipated - it left millions of people very dissapointed.. I'm sorry your enjoyment exists, because the rest of us get lesser products.
The title of the video asks the question of "Is it Worth Playing In 2023?" not whether it was a "finished game" both of which are inherently subjective. It's a bummer that you were disappointed and decided to blame people who enjoyed the game for your unmet expectations. The game has changed drastically from what it was in 2012, so even if, in your subjective opinion, that version of the game was disappointing, that doesn't discount my subjective opinion that it's a fun game now. Besides, we're about being friendly and inclusive for those that enjoy games and the people who come into UA-cam comments to gatekeep and bring negative energy because their personal opinions aren't really our target audience.

Adventure mode and rifts were the fast-paced and fun endgame I still like to this day.
Question: in 2023, am I able to start a new seasonal character and play all the seasons so far?
@@YourFNGamers that is a great explanation thank you! I will def make a seasonal character then after my first playthrough.
I bought this game when it came out played for about a month and stopped Just installed it again and can't put it down! I plan on picking up four after that
I played it last year and now I'm back, I really like this game
I'm playing Inna monk this season, I dig the ranged ones
Polite question from a no gamer - for Diablo games 3 or 4 what is a better playing expirience on Console for example PS5 or Gaming PC?
I started playing it on Saturday.
Nice! How's it been so far?
@@YourFNGamers it’s been good I went for the monk class and I’m really happy so far
Funny.. I started on Diablo 2 lod and can't stand diablo 3 or 4
I want to get into Diablo should I get 4 or just get 2 resurrected?
I am purchasing 🎉
I was into Baldurs Gate bitd but I think recall playing OG Diablo on a PC I soon melted.
Ive bought so many copies of the same damned games on different formats
Its a pirate's lide for me
Ooh arrgh matey!
My old xbox account disappeared for some odd reason so this will be like playing it for the first time in 2023 lol. It might be time to dust off Bea Arthur the monk in 2023. It still looks fun in the video. I'm not a huge fan of 4 It made me sleepy lol.
Is Diablo 3 on PC still online only? I hope we can play the game without internet.
Yes, I believe you must be online to play Diablo 3 on PC
will i be fine playing it offline and non seasonal chrcter? or i will missed so much fun?
Now when i played d2 now i understand why so much players likepoe now im excited for poe 2 ..not so much on d4 i will play it when price drop
Never played any of them. I'm wanting too
Im thinking if picking up this game on switch. Never plsyed diablo before. But im looking for a fun rpg to play
Nice! Switch is my favorite way to play!
@@YourFNGamers that's good to hear. I can't wait to play it and just spend hundred of hrs on it
I still enjoy D3 but not a lot of people playing it now so mainly soloing which can get boring.
Diablo 3 is one of the best ARPGS ever made! The Monk, Crusader and Necromancer are my favourite characters. They're BEASTLY!
I've been getting a lot of lag lately thought it was my computer turns out the problem is with Blizzards servers
Been playing this game since day 1, and still not sick of it. Have no intention of getting 4, as it looks like it would feel like a major downgrade, in quality of game.
Brothers and Sisters, motivate me to play D2R or D3. I already have them both but havent really gotten into either of them. (Console) 😘
@@YourFNGamers Started recently, 60 hour or so, still fighting the 3 elder dragons in the main quest! So much to do, and a whole DLC yet to discover
maxius was a good sword
Just bought it. Is it worth the money.
I definitely think that it is, but that's my opinion!
I wish PC version had controller support
Yeah, I've played on controller so much that mouse and keyboard feels awkward, haha!
I love it on switch
Can't agree more! I have it on PC, Xbox, and Switch, but my Switch is by far my favorite place to play it!
5:45 Paragon level 625?!?!? DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN
Haha, yeah, I may have played this game a bit!
I had the min required specs to run D4 and it's a lie you can't play it with minimal specs
Oh yeah, I can imagine! It seems like it's a pretty graphically intensive game!
@YourFNGamers I bumped up to 16 gig ram and it solved 99% of all issues I was having
I'm here by autoplay miracle 🤘🙇🤙
Right on! Welcome!
Playing this at 2024
Haha, yep, may have to change that video title, because it's still worth playing in 2024!
Diablo 2 ressurected is better than 3 and 4
I played some Diablo 2 back in the day before the remaster came out and have played some of the remaster, too.
LoL I have 5000 hours on Switch OLED
It's my go to game on Switch! It just works so well!
while D3 is a good game at its core it is a TERRIBLE Diablo game, dont know what they were thinking
Probably that they get to decide what a Diablo game is since they are making it. Sounds like it just wasn't what YOU were looking for in a Diablo game.
Albion online basically copied diablo entirely
I haven't played that one but I have played a bunch of Diablo-style games like Fate, Torchlight, Warhammer 40k Inquisitor, and Warhammer Chaosbane to name a few! There are a ton out there!
Diablo 3 looks ridiculous compared to Diablo 4
Yeah, the bones are the same, but it is a very different game than Diablo 4, haha. It's also changed a lot since it launched, so I'm excited to see how Diablo 4 keeps evolving.
@@YourFNGamers me too, I’m excited for Diablo 4’s future
Diablo 4 sucks lol.....
Eh, I've been enjoying it. To each their own
Easy question, easy answer. Nope.
I guess we differ in opinion then, but that's fine, not every game has to be for everybody.
Diablo 4 was so so so dissapointing
DIABLO 3 ON LOADING CRASHES AND LOCKS YOUR PC UP FACT
I still can't believe they went from d1 and d2 to this aberration of a game that is supposed to be in the same franchise. that gameplay footage at the beginning is just disgusting.
I can't say that I personally minded. Sorry your biases kept you from enjoying a fun game.
No, it’s not, and either is d4.
Neither?
@@YourFNGamers if u get the games for $10, the campaigns are decent to play thru. But no, d3/4 r pretty dead.
