This guy was way much better than Cristiano Ronaldo, Ibrahimovich, R. Fenomeno...etc. Best striker ever.
He had to retire at 28 years young because of a chronical ankle injury. His manager at Milan, Capello, was crying when Marco van Basten said goodbye to the fans at the end.
We Dutchies have been blessed with some class strikers in the past. with van Basten, Bergkamp, van Nistelrooy and van Persie we had some great strikers in the past.

He is officialy chosen to be the 2nd best striker ever behind R9. (3rd would be Gerd Müller) He is on the list of "20 best players of all time" too. But just imagine what he could do if he didn't retire that early with 28. 🤯

add baggio to that list. played with no knees since he was 18 smh and always complained about playing through pain.

BAggio was also one of the 3 or 4 greatest of his position o all times.(Excluding Sergen Yalcın,the Turkish great gifted master but remained local)

@@SooRetroo yep, retired at 28 due to persistent ankle injuries. Never really played full seasons, yet 3 Ballon D'ors. if he played to about 33/34, could've won 5 Ballon D ors!. For me the most complete Striker ever!
Watched a lot of van basten the perfect 9 for me his first touch and dribbling were wonderful
