Honestly, I’ve always thought Ness was underrated. Not quite viable like Samus or Yoshi, but definitely better than low tier. His aerials are all great, his kill moves are very powerful, and his only real problem is his pea-sized grab. Even his recovery is not as bad as people think because you can start it off really far off stage if you know what you are doing, and it has one of the highest priority hitboxes in the game. He’s definitely not quite viable, but I’d personally stick him on similar levels as Link and DK, instead of the likes of Zelda and Kirby.
when mario or doc cape ness while he is in that thunder launch thing, he can go in the stage. The menu that comes up is just to take control of the cpu to make him cape
dash attack at 0 consistently kills with the right distance from the ledge, can't remember if you can actually survive it with DI. Since specific hitboxes of Ness's dash attack send in very disadvantageous directions for the opponent.
Specific set up to kill at 0, I dont remember if it works on any stage or just yoshis. But if someone rolls to the edge its over for them if you space your DA correctly.
I dont have the patience or skill to choreograph both characters. Maybe in the future. For now the CPU usually gives me something reasonable to work with, but I curate what the cpu does to prevent it from doing something dramatically stupid, usually.

The recovery is garbage and super short in this game.
It can also easily be contested by sheer range. You dont get a priority hitbox, if yours is out of reach and the enemy one's is hitting you.
