Oscar no left hand after that stroke running on autopilot. When I met Oscar in Brisbane Australia in the 70's, I was a bassist in a trio adoring this wonderful genius man. He was in no mood that day for a radio interview. Still love him... [Been trying to learn piano from that long ago]
Oscar has been my musical hero since 1962 [I was 19 years old when I discovered him.] and his expertise in playing the piano with creativity and emotion remains unmatched to this very day. Upon sharing my admiration for Oscar with Monty Alexander, Monty replied " Oscar is at the top of the mountain; he makes no mistakes". Shame to any body who does not appreciate the genius of the jazz piano.
I wish I could play 1/10th the piano of Peterson in this clip! He's ripping it up! Seriously, if you didn't watch the video would you notice he was old and his left hand didn't work right? He plays more with one hand than most people do with two. A true musician. Every bit of his playing is class.

Oscar was one of our great talents of all time!!! it is a sad commentary that these rappers and hip-hop artists have gotten more recognition. in fact, if one would ask any of our younger generation how they feel about Oscar's music, they would respond with a shrug of their shoulders, as they never even heard of him, let alone heard his music.
Toca solo con la mano derecha. La izquierda quedó afectada por un accidente cerebro vascular que sufrió, creo que en el 93. La interpretación que puede lograr es increíble. Definitivamente fué un gran pianista
Bless him. This performance was after his stroke and he's still rocking with only his right hand fully functional. Wow. this would be a great sound for someone with (2) functional hands! Who's that on drums?
I was to concert with Oscar in Oslo - I Think it was also in 2004 - with NHØP and Ulf and was it Bobby on drums ? , and it was a great concert, but also a little bit sad. Oscar played very well, but his mind was quicker than his fingers. He was a little bit behind the tempo and NHØP and Ulf often tried to take over, but all of us could hear, that Oscar was past his best years. A great concert because we all loved Oscar and still do !
@Andreeeiiii Seems like Oscar is a little behind the tempo but He still rocks.Only at some parts when he tried to go crazy on the keyboard. Go listen to him play this when he was younger and you will see what im talking about. He's still great.
The comments are fair, Peterson is a little behind on time at times and the hands arn't as fluid around the keys. However, this is post stroke and his playing still beats just about any pianist out there. This just goes to show what a monster this guy was at the keys, when he plays at 50% his talent he's still amazing.

what they think is music is not even music.
Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson, two of the greatest jazz pianists of the 20th century, END OFF!
Hello my friend . Nice music . Have a nice day

To be fair his right hand isn’t what I’d consider fully functional. Getting old ain’t for the faint of heart.
Simply ace.
That piano solo is stunning!
Oscar, i love your piano forever!!!!!!
One genius worldwide of the music composed this masterpiece. His name is Duke Ellington!
The Genius of Oscar Peterson ...playing like that after a Stroke.
