One of the most original groups in music ever, and great musicians!
I can’t believe I first heard this song and the Breakfast In America album in 1979! I’m 58 now, and time has just flown by….
Their song that I keep pitching to reactors is 'Even in the quietest moments', my favorite STP song, very soulful and takes you on an inward journey!
It’s a masterpiece if you’re in a chill mood. I would also add School and Child of Vision as a must listen to.
Check out Goodbye Stranger...my personal favorite Supertramp song
Was gonna say the same, that song is a masterpiece!!!❤
also take the long way home
My favorite SuperTramp song, and they have A LOT of great songs!
Hey! You read my mind and stated my thoughts. Verbatim. Impressive.
This album was huge when it came out
That's Doug Helliwell On Sax, Tasha..He played all..Tenor, Alto, Baritone, Clairnet and Flute, Also pitched in on keys and back-up vocals as well. All the sax players I met over the years as a musician knew who he was and loved him. I can't give Supertramp enough props for the beauty and creativity of their sound--It was so ear-catching different from all the other bands!
“Breakfast in America” is a BRILLIANT album, all the way through. One of the very best releases of the ‘70’s.
Throw a dart at any track, and be filled with musical joy. ❤
The jyrics in this one are so smart, and fit together so well; definitely one of their best. I also like 'Breakfast In America' (and no, it's not just because they employed a tuba), and my favorite has to be 'Take The Long Way Home,' which is extremely evocative for me: I can clearly picture the protagonist walking alone from lamplight-to-lamplight in a deserted park on a windy, drizzly October night.
Stop! You had me at "Tuba".
@@maybedrinkin3241 All bands using tubas get bonus points. If you want an even better one, listen to 'Done Too Soon' by Neil Diamond. Fire.
Bloody Well Right has some good sax too!
Goodbye Stranger, is my favorite Supertramp song.
Reminds me too much of my best friend that I lost over a decade back. At the same time, it grounds me. Peace, Love!!
"Please tell me who I am". Magical youth to logical adult. I think you need to be the logical adult when necessary and also keep that magic of exploring new things. I have an uncle that is 82 and still has that curiosity about things. I believe that is a big part of why he is doing so well. We all are still that kid we were inside. Great song and album. Long live the sax and brass instruments in general.
Yay! One of my favorite groups!
Fantastic musicians
Breakfast In America! Classic album 👌🏾
This song is great and Supertramp have so many damn good tracks. I highly recommend "Goodbye Stranger". It's a phenomenal song.
You guys are going to love” bloody well right”!❤
As an older person, who knows the UK, this song talks about the British upper class and how they send their children away to boarding school. Any personality and independence they have are soon hammered out of them to make them fit into the little square conservative box that is going to be their British upper-class life.
A la The Wall ? Especially Another Brick In The Wall , Part II .
Conservative box?
You don’t have to be upper class to go to boarding school in the uk. Just have money. Unlike the US, ‘class’ is not money based in the uk. A working class trillionaire lottery winner could never be upper class in the uk.
Makes perfect sense now. Thanks!
I'm 62. Keep your damn politics out of it. It's life. Everyone has questions as they grow.
Bloody nice to hear a bit of Supertramp, and to see you guys enjoying it. Looking forward to 'Bloody well right'.
Even the precision of the drummers, five stroke rolls Nothing but top-notch quality
Top ten greatest albums ever.
Goodbye Stranger
If I could only have a playlist of 100 fave songs, this would have to be on that list.
They sound just like this LIVE
Missed you guys...Still the best at reactions i see👍👍😁😁🎸🎸
One of my favourite musical bands
The saxophonist is from my home town
Hi Tee and Tasha check out from Supertramp it’s Raining Again
I'm 59. I had heard this song a thousand times or more since it came out way back when. In 2017 though, this song (and a couple other things) caused my life to transition; it was as if I had never heard the song before! When it got to the lyric part "please tell me who I am" at the end, I literally had a spiritual experience that was so profound it inspired me to change my name and completely changed my cosmological view of life! Many other things happened in my world and let's just say the most significant of these was an ongoing experience that is represented by my YT channel name (that's a hint). If you're interested you can make to my channel to see my content and you'll find a 2-part documentary I made which describes the whole vibe.
So yeah, this song is kinda a big deal for me. Thanks for posting your reaction! Peace
I read in an article that the singer inspired of his own life when he has 12y and his parents divorced. He had to go to one of his parent and he explain this changing.
Yes hits home
The song is based on his experience of being sent to boarding school.
Goodbye Stranger with one of the best outtros you’ll ever hear.
The rest of the track is pretty damn good too!
Should check out the song “St. Elmo’s Fire” plenty of good Sax 😂
Think this was ‘79 ? What a great album….great memories !
Supertramp is a single word, not two. 😉
A girl I used to work with always called it "The Sexyphone".
Take the Long Way Home is a must. I'd also suggest It's Raining Again, and Goodbye Stranger. As others have also suggested. Great music from a great band.
I'm not sure if yall have heard of Gerry Rafferty Baker street
Long way home, is my favorite.
One of my favorite hi way driving songs lol great reaction! ❤️🙏
Ahhh. I love this song!
For more good sax Steely Dan's FM extended version, Danny Gatton's "Pretty Blue", Pink Floyd's "Shine on You Crazy Diamond"!
🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎷🎷🎷🎸🎸🎸❤❤
Personally I like good sax and violins
One of my favourites!! Also try 'Breakfast in America'. The name of tge album with all the good songs. Also 'Cannonball'. Great stuff from a great 70's band. Keep up the great reviews. ❤
Bonjour, j'adore " Supertramp " 👍
Ohhh hell yeah 🤘🏻
you guys definitely need to check out more SuperTramp awesome band
Oh please please please react to Goodbye Stranger!
I suggest the studio version first although there's a great live performance.
This is still a jam to me and my sister. I was 9 and she was 7.
When music was musical.
Beautiful song... iconic sax solo ❤
Bloody Well Right is a very good song, as is every song on "Crime of the Century." That is a CD I will put in and listen to completely a couple times a year.
This song has an unstoppable energy that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Btw I can't wait to see your genuine reaction to Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song 🤘
Love me sum Supertramp !
Check out the mirror image of this album cover with the air hostess and the view out of an aeroplane window and the twin towers with 9/11 over the top of them and then consider that the album was released in the late 1970’s
❤
Long way home
Check out their live version in Paris. Magical
If you like the sax, try 'Will You' by Hazel O'Connor. The entire second half of the track is sax but do yourself a favour and avoid the video - it's composed of distracting clips from the movie Breaking Glass in which it appears.
And the big question is - had you ever heard this song before?
Love supertramp 🙏🏻🔥❤️🇬🇧xxx
I love Supertramp and I love this album, but why so many people are blown away by this particular song is beyond me. The whole album is great, but I wouldn't even put this track in the top 5. Can anyone explain it to me? Yeah, it's catchy and great music and production, but that's what we've come to expect from every Supertramp song. What am I missing?
there doesn't need to be a reason. Personal preference. I love this song.
I really like it, too. Maybe people like it because it was a big hit, and got a lot of exposure and airplay.
@@kentclark6420 - yeah this album spawned multiple hits but my favorite is still "Child of Vision". I was there, bought the album the minute it came out, played it endlessly for weeks and saw them live during the tour. Maybe it is because it was so overplayed that it fell from my favor?
You're in the minority.
@@doplinger1 Quite possible. The same with me and some of the big ELO hits that were on the radio a lot back then. I like many of their lesser-heard songs more.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🕺🏄🍻
Digging you guy's... Awesome vibe,,,I just subscribed
"It's raining again" is another great song
this song came out in 1979
New sub because you don't cut up the song. HAHA, Sax is good, fire is bad............Frankenstein
You guys should check out the album cover. That lady is the SO Liberty. NY is built in diner dishes and condiments. I have the original iron on t shirt. A little biased I guess...
Mass media industrial complex predicative programming of 9/11 w/ the glass of Masonic ORANGE juice overlaying the Twin Towers....the waitress also in Masonic orange & the Manhattan representation teaming w/ phallus symbology amongst other "harbingers" of their transhumanistic "perfect world".
These various societal altering "seminal moment" events are planned well in advance & orchestrated to perfection by nefarious "penthouse level" operatives.
Saw them in 74-75 Fantastic
While this is one of the best albums in the era (and of all time), a lot of the lyrics are dark.
Do Bob Dylan Shot of Love
If you love good sax then you should react to Hazel O’Connor Will You
Memories ❤
🔥
The sax is crying
EVER LISTEN TO "INXS"???? EXCELLENT SINGING, MUSICIANSHIP,
Crime of the century
Tasha action Jackson reaction...
😂
Do yourself a favor and listen to Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song. React to it, please 🤘
Sax is sexy.
Dude, learn the sax!!! I see your first groopie!!! Just an old mans advice.
school . grooming ppl .
They forgot theological which is the most logical.
Thank goodness they aren't 'Supertrump'.
‘They’ll be calling you a radical a liberal, fanatical a criminal’ Sounds like one of the Presidential candidates 🤔
Dude…when you’re messing on the laptop you’re not listening….just saying
"Goodbye Stranger" is by far their best song in my opinion.
Ok, guys. CHILD OF VISION needs to find a home your eyes. As well as,
DREAMER,
HIDE IN YOUR SHELL
RUDY,
and CANNONBALL.
Keep going and enjoy
