Don’t brick 🧱 it but maybe try some other kind of challenge 😅 what about food processing or something. Not sure maybe there is some kind of museum that might be interested in taking it?
@bootsowen thats what i thought. Being an induction motor, there would be no arcing from the motor, unless it was the angle of the light affecting the lens.
Geri remembers an Acme version on this setup, was there more time is those days? Must be something to do with the universe expanding, but there's still the same amount of time, cheers
I had one of these when I first got married 1971,second hand then. When I had my babies,I did the whites,eg nappies first, then coloureds, then jeans, and last of all husbands overalls.I caught fingers in the mangle more than once, and grateful it had that quick release. The latest babygro’s had just come out,and I don’t know how many I ruined,as the mangle flattened the poppers! 😝🥴 Oh god,I’ll kill myself if I had to go back to that. 😂😂😂
Thanks for the story! I have never used one of these before. Did you run the same water for all of the loads, then a rinse later on? How long did you spend on laundry. We still do cloth nappies, a load every second day on top of all our other laundry, but I can't imagine spending my time stuck beside the machine loading and unloading!
@@bootsowen I had two washing days,I did use the same water for washing, whites first, darks and dirtiest last. I used to mangle over the sink, and rinsed by hand in the sink, then mangled again, before hanging out to dry. I used to leave nappies in soak in a bucket, with Napisan, until washing day. I got used to it,and in some ways it was better than automatic machines we have now,as you could give something delicate a real quick wash,in and out,or something with a stubborn stain, you could take it out give it a scrub, and put it back in. 😄😊

that looks very cool great vid 👍
Thanks
15:26 is it me? Or am i seeing arcing above your watermark owen? Just where the motor is?
I didnt see any, and it is not a brushed motor so if there was any it would be tricky!

Around 1950’s - 1960’s id say

I think there was more time and less stuff. The house that this came from had the essentials, no computer, maybe a tv and radio. Less stress?
@@bootsowen indeed, less (stuff) is more (time), cheers
