Even at $600+, I can't fathom paying that price, when I can go out and buy other fantastic bottles for half the pour price of this. 2023 TH is the best rye I've had. I was fortunate and scored 2 bottles of it--my first BTAC anything. I paid 200 for one and 250 for the other, but I'm not mad at those prices. I never thought I'd see one for less the 700. Now if I could just find a Michters Barrel Strength Rye, my #2 favorite Rye. lol
Was just at my local bar in central florida,,they just got this in the other day. I may pay for the 2 oz pour this weekend. I like the pine needle smell on my ryes. Good , thorough review. I hope I find one soon.
THH several years ago made me realize how good ryes could be! I'm very much a rye fan and I love how much they can vary between different mashbills, distilleries, etc, and how different they morph from a couple years in to 4, 6, 8 etc years. My local Sagamore has also been interesting to watch develop. Thanks for spreading the rye love!

I've had a pour Thomas h handy a few years ago. I don't know how buff trace gets so much flavor and viscosity from just 6 years of aging. Easily one of the best ryes I've had
Great review! I got to try last years THH and enjoyed it thoroughly, and love that this years has that clove and long finish! If you had one of the Knob Creek Rye Cask Strength, that would be a good comparison as well. Cheers.
I'd definitely buy this for retail. Secondary. Pretty hard to pay for a bottle I've never tried. My 2 favorite Ryes right now are EHT SR and the other because of how different it is is a PG Rye Bourbon Junkies pick which is so different. I'd imagine this is closest to the Handy you're talking about. Cheers!
Hey David. Rusty picked a bottle up of this at that last Alabama lottery. He sent me an 8 ounce sample! He reviewed it and thought it was just okay and probably would not buy it again. I had a pour on Saturday and thought it was okay, but you know I am not a big rye guy. 🥃

@@BourbonRealTalk well, here’s how I see it: seeing that there’s a built in profit margin in the SRPs of liquor between 15-30+%, and if they’re adding a $40 on top then they’re actually taking advantage of the the fact it’s btac or any allocation and someone will gladly pay for it specially with the market. Now don’t get me wrong I would gladly pay the $40 on top if I found it but doesn’t negate that they’re increasing the price because of what it is and not what it costs GG liquors. I’ve been lucky at Spec’s with my allocation but haven’t found the bottles you guys do yet like y’all I always try to share with the guys/gals wherever I find bottles by bringing samples on my next visit. Thanks for sharing guys!
We just hardly ever see any BTAC here in DE. I’ve seen one GTS on the shelf once, at $600. My hope is that secondary will calm down and make these a bit more attainable in the future

Great video! I started drinking ryes late this year after only drinking bourbon for years. I have been missing out!
I go through phases. I will say we did some more recording and the ryes of the year are in general better tasting than the bourbons of the year.

I got a Michter BS when I got a Fort Nelson before they switched to bourbon. I had a pour over the weekend and it was as good as I remembered.

My first rye never tasted was the THH couple years ago. Hands down was amazing. Now I’m definitely more Rye adventurous
Rye is a bolder flavor some people can't handle, but if your palate likes it there is a lot to explore.

Tried the BTAC lineup for the first time ever on NYD and man THH is a BANGER
It is solid. Usually I prefer GTS and WLW. I didn't try the WLW this year, but I think the THH tastes better than the GTS today.

Most people eye the WLW or GTS, but this is the BTAC that I’ve been wanting to get my hands on.
I usually prefer the GTS and WLW, but this year I think the THH tastes better than the GTS.
Until Booker’s Rye returns, I’ll have to seek out bar pours of THH…thanks for the review!
Check out Old Overholt 10 Year. It is as close to Booker's Rye as you can get.

I’m a Kentucky rye guy so don’t fancy the 95/5 stuff but I believe THH would fall into that sweet spot
