- I'm back again with another massive, overgrown yard transformation. In the last episode I did the front of this property, and I'm back to finish it all off. This one has everything from mowing to power washing (must keep the power washing fans happy). It also has some small repairs to a gate and fence, which is a nice touch. All up, I spent around 11 hours on this job and went to the landfill 3 times, all for nothing. Please like, comment and subscribe if you haven't already. This is part 2 of 2.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

Awesome transformation! Lot of cleanup should've done by the neighbours whose trees are ruining the fence. Hope her landlord replaces it soon. It's a big lawn, but now hopefully much easier to maintain. All the best!
The landlord will not pay to replace the fence since the damage was caused by the neighbor's bushes or trees which need to be removed.
Great yard work George and the pressure washing was such a nice addition! This woman must be happy over the moon. You transferred her yards into clean crisp need some lawn chairs to sit and enjoy areas! The work you did trimming those over the fence bushes and trees was huge. Those neighbors shouldn’t be allowed to let growth go on.
I smiled when you fixed the gate and fence area. Such a nice extra for her. That’s the things you do that make your channel extra enjoyable.
You are by far the best lawn makeover person I’ve seen. I watch several and you do perfection work, plus all your added notes you place on your videos make for enjoyment.
One thing I find interesting is the clotheslines and the paved walkway to them. In USA clotheslines are a thing of the past and even when we had them, there was never a paved path to them. A cultural difference that I like to see.

I think the part I enjoy the most, is when you do the second mowing. It is so obvious you are cutting the grass shorter, but it makes the property have a finished look to it. I really like your videos without music. Happy Christmas to you from the southernmost tip of Texas, USA.

Such a fantastic transformation (front and back). It was very nice of you to fix her clothes line and fence. The icing on the cake was the power washing. It's a shame that the neighbors trees has ruined the fence. The tenant didn't have ONE 🌲in her yard, hopefully the neighbor will pay for the fence! Can't wait for the next video. I so wanted you to go over the fence and cut down those vines and limbs. That would have been three more trips to the landfill. The corner used as a brush pile was maddening. Job half done by someone who needs lessons from George on how to do it right! This makeover is absolutely epic, George. You outdid yourself!

Very nice video Mr. George! 100% better. Yes, that grass was strange stuff, maybe fine fescue or zoysia in there? I could tell you were having trouble cutting it. We planted "No-Mow" grass at one of our houses, very small area. It gets long, clumpy, lumpy and "swishy" kind of wavey looking. Normally you don't mow it, hence the "No-Mow" name. 😊 Enjoyed this video, as always!

You made me chuckle when you called the grass in back "strange." That grass looks similar to the type of grass we have here in the states. Which to me looks normal. The grass that is indigenous to your country that you usually cut looks strange and untamed to a lot of us over here. 🤭

I think it's called play dead grass George as I noticed every time the lawn mower got close to cutting it down, the grass seemed to flatten itself out so it couldn't be cut. LOL.

That backyard is a mess! George to the rescue! 😁 Wow that grass is tall! Gate not working...no problem...George goes above and beyond...oh, and fixed the fence! Great job trimming the overgrowth. It was a simple but complex job. The neighbors should take a hint and trim the trees along their fence line. They didn't see the POV of your customer, or didn't care. The brick houses look well constructed, btw. I enjoyed the little repair jobs. You are a George (... Jack) of all trades.
