    I already have a megan racing full catback-but running stock headers- sound is just "OK" and I get drone between 2200-2800. You are right , the biggest sound improvement on these engines are the headers. I have ordered a set of status gruppe headers and cant wait to see how they sound with the megan catback. if its not a good combo - I might put the stock mid section back in

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  5 років тому

      I’m betting it’ll sound great with the full catback system. I’d also wager that your drone will get significantly better or go away completely once the headers are on. The M3 in these videos is extremely loud but has zero drone whatsoever with its setup.

      Greg's Depot The status Gruppe headers really seem to have a unique tone to them. A bit like the Fabspeed if I had to compare. How do you like the B spec tune? We’re running Dinan at the moment.

    • @gregdepot
      @gregdepot 6 років тому

      +BuzzytheBlue likeing the tune so far that said I have not got to drive it a ton yet, but seems to recover so of the low end compared to untuned headers, also throttle response without sport is better and the revamped sport mode is less jarring I remember correctly.
      The cool thing is they are continuing to build on it and i think updates are like $0-20, they now have 6MT launcher control but its swapped for the dyno mode feature. Right now I don’t really want to have to buy a new clutch so ill stick to the dyno mode feature.
      That said I’m happy M3 Clutch prices are reasonable vs the the NSX I had in the past.

    I am currently waiting to install status gruppe headers and I am also running a megan exhaust. Do you recommend going with the ar25 resonated section 1 or doing a high flow cat section 1? I do not want it to be super loud either, so I am leaning towards the resonated section 1 to also eliminate any rasp.

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  6 років тому

      A Rod Honestly if you aren’t concerned with emissions then I’d go with the AR25, I think that will tame it a bit more than the high flow cat will. I’m not sure how much it will do though because we ended up just leaving ours ungodly loud lol.

    Yesterday when I opened the hood at my e46, coolant was everywhere, my mechanic replaced the coolant draining bolt, the one right behind the coolant filler cap. I am so depressed because of that shit... luckily the engine was at idle when this happened, but unfortunately when I checked the exact temperature it was at 217.4 F, do you think I done any harm to the engine. At least after replacing that bleeding screw temperature is normal, but I never had any of this problems before with the cooling system...

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  6 років тому

      KvnS S Absolutely. I’ll work on getting that. In the meantime, it is hilariously loud on the way by. For reference, I live in a wooded area that should in theory mask sound from far away. But I hear this car on the main road about 1.5 miles away from the house lol. I’d say sport bike noise level. But when you short shift and keep your foot out of it it’s fairly tame.

    Noob question, but what exactly do poly bushings do?

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  6 років тому +3

      Petrol Juice No such thing as a noob question. They do the same thing OEM material bushings do, provide a buffer between suspension components and subframes so they aren’t metal on metal where they connect. Stiffer bushings will result in a stiffer overall car, and can tighten the handling somewhat, but too stiff and they can make the car a rattly/crashy riding mess. Poly typically is a bit harder than stock, but still very street-able.

    • @BuzzytheBlue
      @BuzzytheBlue  6 років тому

      Albert Ayars It actually doesn’t, the evolve alpha N tune is the best bet if you’re running catless. But the Dinan tune was available right then so we just threw that on, getting a dyno tune would be my first choice. We are likely adding in high flow cats at the section 1 soon anyway.
