    Guys: I do not understand the UI complaints. Everything about 2's controls was built to be in tune with the joy-con button layouts. From the outside looking in it may seem intimidating, but it's actually pretty intuitive. Plus, if you don't like your screen being cluttered, there is some customization you can do through the settings menu. I'm sure that xc3 will have these options as well.

    This is my most hyped Nintendo Switch game by far.
    Probably the game I've been most excited for ever. I loved XCX as the first one in the series I ever played, then went back to play XC1 and loved it even more. Then XC2 came out and I knew I'd get it, but this game is somethign else for me. XC2 cemented it as my favourite series of all time, and seeing certain plot details hinted at in this is utterly insane to me

    I’ve never found the Xenoblade UIs cluttered, honestly. They always dole things out pretty slowly (frustratingly so, in some people’s opinion) so it’s never confusing as long as you pay attention to the tutorials that pop up every once in a while.
    Actually using the info on screen and pulling crazy things off always feels incredibly rewarding.

    I would argue that the UI isn't cluttered at all. They made a very wise decision to make all of the ui elements translucent so it doesn't even really get in the way of seeing the gameplay.
    I'd also argue that Elden Ring, for example, was too sparse. UI needs to find a balance and at least here we have all the information we need. From what I can see, every bit of that UI is needed to properly play the game

    • @ShadowSkyX
      @ShadowSkyX 2 роки тому

      The only thing that seems redundant to me, as least to my limited understanding, is the oriborous symbol ticking at the same pace of mio and noah's fusion meter. They both even say caution when equally close to full at the same time. I kind of hope they tweaked the UI since this version because there are ways to simplify it a little more without losing coherency and clean up the space a bit. They definitely need to push the art buttons more to the side, put the chain attack symbol higher in the top right corner and change how "chain attack" looks and bend it around the symbol. Just moving that up alone will free up some room for the bottom right. I like the oriborous symbol they have but I think I'd prefer it on the right side of the character(s) hp, exp bar and the purple bar, assuming the overheat meter and oriborous symbol were conveying the same thing.
      I did appreciate seeing what role each character was doing mid battle though and overall aestetic. I expect there will be some cool down between the two modes/weapons and that it will vary by person.

    • @golfer435
      @golfer435 2 роки тому

      @@ShadowSkyX From what I've seen from certain UA-cam breakdown of the combat that we have seen, I am fairly sure that those 2 mo not show the same thing. While we don't know the ins and outs of the interlink system yet, we do know that the meter that shows up in the top left during an interlink fusion is essentially a time limit. If it fills all the way up then the fusion into the Oroborous will be canceled.
      Ask for the interlink meter, my guess is that it's probably a resource specifically designed for use during ouroboros form. I say this because there are certain attacks in ouroboros fotm that have modifiers that are tied to interlink level.
      And yeah the could probably move the chain attack meter up a touch, but it's really hard to say why it's there right now as there could totally be another mechanic or ui element later that needs that space in the top right

      @jacobmonks3722 2 роки тому +1

      The art style of XC2 doesn't bother me, I like the typical anime aesthetic and the environments are very vibrant. My only issue with how the game looks is the over abundance of sexualised character designs throughout the cast and the borderline creepy way some of them are presented or talked about. Tora is especially egregious on that front, which is such a shame because Poppi is a great character, and the concept of someone creating an artificial person who can develop emotions and empathy to bond with is intriguing. But the only personality trait Tora has is that he's a sheltered nerd obsessed with maid outfits (which brings into question why does Tora have a kink that relates to characters that are not his own species?) Almost every female character either has large assets or is exposing a lot of skin, or both. I don't have a problem with that by itself, but it can be distracting from the story they are trying to tell, which is not helped by the fact that the camera likes to view some very curious angles. It just makes the game hard to take seriously at times, and I think it would have been better off without such design choices.
      Disclaimer, I do still like XC2 overall so don't take this as hating on the game. I just want it to be better, and thus far it looks like XC3 is going in that direction.

    Nice video overall but I think you should bring people that actually played the games and knows some of the franchise story and lore and gameplay to comment on a new release… sometimes it seems like you don’t care much about it (not having at least the name of protagonist not memorised but al least written down) and it looks bad for a Nintendo channel. Yeah this is not Mario, Zelda or Pokemon but come on, it not an unknown or new seres either… the fans deserve a better job preparing this, is a massive release for us. The UI complaints is either form trolls or people that didn’t play the old games. The elements on the battle screen are all necessary to follow and make the strategy in combat. And also many of the UI details can be turned off in the older games (the text naming the Art and its effect on XC2), so it can be assumed it’ll be similar this time.

    ever since XB3 was announced i picked up XB1 and XB2, trust me you need to play them (not because of the lore) because those games are truly amazing. Felix, you should definitely finish Xenoblade 1 before starting 2. Alex probably doesn't know since he hasn't finished 2 himself, but there are some very significant moments near the end of 2 that will leave a much bigger impact on you if you've played through the entirety of 1 first. And I imagine knowledge of those events at the end of both games will play a major role in the story of 3.
    If you are worried about not being able to finish both in time for the release of 3 (especially now that it's releasing earlier than expected), I would recommend still playing both games to the end, but perhaps start skipping sidequests. Though in Xenoblade 2 there are special sidequests called "Blade Quests" that further develop the stories about the Blades, so I would still recommend doing those.

    I think something worth bearing in mind is that Monolith soft did a huge amount of work for Nintendo on ‘Breath of the Wild’ and it’s likely Nintendo realising that ‘xenoblade 3’ was basically done and that the lions share of the developers were needed on ‘Breath of the Wild 2’ so choose to release this early.
    Remember Nintendo had ‘Xenoblade 2’ and ‘Breath of the wild’ come out within 9 months of one another and I expect that will happen again.
    I’d put a fair bit on Nintendo releasing the second breath of the wild 02/12/22 👍🏻

      @@tomsimmons7673You don’t even understand how Nintendo develop their first party games do you?
      They have multiple teams in house called EPD 1-10 with an 11th for sound and a couple more esoteric/secret ones. They also have the SPD department for more hardware related development.
      Nintendo regularly pull teams from all in house teams and from their stable studios such as the Gamefreak, HAL laboratory, Monolithsoft and others.
      Several designers and programmers from the Xenoblade teams have been involved with multiple other projects as they have proprietary middleware Nintendo uses in almost all of their games.
      For example monolith literally built the world of BOTW and then focused on debugging the collision detection to make it a real physical place. This was something they had done when they built the first Xenoblade and largely why that game was so impressive as an open world.
      So, for clarity, your points are both moot. Nintendo brought this game forward and my reasoning to them realising BOTW2 this year on an accelerated timeframe is sound. Not saying definite, just a well thought out guess. Secondly regardless of how many people work at Monolith Nintendo’s development culture and part of the agreement monolith signed all the way back in the nineties necessitate the sharing of developers and teams and with Xenoblade 3 finished Nintendo will 100% pull dev’s onto other projects more than likely BOTW2 due to the aforementioned entangled history. This isn’t up for debate, this is how Nintendo develop games.
      Maybe next time you leave an inane comment it won’t be @ a former games journalist and now consultant in the industry 😂

It enhances the story and world of the main game while giving depth to certain major characters from the main game, so it’s definitely worth playing.
