I've been gone about 28 years now but even though I knew this town like the back of my hand, I hardly recognise it at all, just a few landmarks and that's it!
I did a lot of my growing up in Ayr in the late 60s early 70s, not much has changed a few buildings gone but it's still the same yet it isn't, somethings missing it's like a different place. Maybe changing it into a one way wasn't a good idea, it now lacks the hustle and bustle it once had.
Being demolished and flats are being built , there is still a tower standing for some reason maybe due to mobile masts on the roof to be decommissioned.
I enjoyed this! It’s good to see familiar places from a new perspective!
Beautiful town love the place like to live there sometime
I left in 87, I remember quite a few spots on the main street. Great to see it so many years later, thanks.
Miss Ayr and the High St. Born there in 51. Fish and chips while headed to the beach. Thank You for this video.

Great video! 👌 (what’s going on between the two high rise buildings?)
I think they are being demolished

Ayr Toon Cena, wasn't he a Brazilian Grand Prix driver? (Sorry, old one I know).
The old yins are the best 👌
