If you like this, check out Zhaoze, a post-rock band from China that use a guqin. I'd say the Guqin is most similar to a cello or violin (from a Western point of view), especially since the guy using it uses a cello bow at times.
It is a very silly adaptation, but the Western audience don't know about the novel or Chinese history so they don't care. However, the portrayal of Zhou Yu is definitely more historically accurate than the novel, which painted him as an antagonist to Zhuge Liang, and unbelievably exaggerated his involvement in the battle of Red Cliff. Liu Bei just waited until the right moment and stole Jing Zhou.
A true connection of their spirits! Thanks for uploading this!
One of my favorite scenes of this movie! Thanks!
01:55 칠현금 곡 광릉산(广陵散) Arranged?
the coolest part is this scene is where they form a military alliance between themselves. Just with the music
《鼓琴训论》
其身必欲正。无得左右倾欹。前后仰合.....不宜飞舞作势轻薄之态。欲要手势花巧 以为好看。莫若推琴而舞。若要声音艳丽以为好听。莫若弃琴而弹筝。
You can really tell a lot about a person by how they play music. This is just two guys having a conversation of the soul.
This song is flowing river~
Of several languages I speak, I thank G_d and Jesus Christ for the gifts of understanding. Thank You Lord for another wonderful day!❤
Very metal.
Even if the instruments are so different, this does at times sound A LOT like a blues-y lap guitar.
well they are both plucking strings
This is beautiful
true origin of the blues right? same pentatonic scales, basically a lapsteel, same use of harmonic notes.
