- I recently became the proud owner of an ASM Hydrasynth Deluxe. Finally my Polyphonic aftertouch dream is complete. Not only is it a fantastic keyboard to play my Novation Peak. The Hydra itself has a fantastic sound engine. Here's an improvisation I played with their powers combined. I also use my custom SE80 midi controller again. Thus turning my Peak into a budget Yamaha CS80.
I like this improv because these Synths blend well. And I was more or less successful in utilising microtuning as a musical tool which is nice 😀
My opinion of the Hydrasynth: Buy one while they're making them. An absolute beast of a machine that will satisfy the most demanding tweaker.
If you dread listening to 25 minutes of noodling. Feel free to skip to the 20 minute mark for a good demonstration of the Hydra+Peak sound.

Yea. I've always liked it. But the original had too few keys. The Deluxe version is just right with its huge PolyAT keyboard. I really love it. I got it in March but I had little time to learn it. I got lots of doodles but this one is the first worth uploading.
It's always a quite humbling experience to see and hear you move into The Zone! You've passed the atonal test with excellence. Challenge fullfilled. And then some!
Thx. I'm very proud of this one. TBH... I can't believe I did it. I think this is what Vangelis means when he says he's just a channel, because I could never play this as a performance even with a lot of practice.
I really thought you where starting with that darn Blade Runner theme. Luckily good taste prevailed. Skrie at his best even while moving a bit out of his comfort zone. Very well done!
Heheh. :) Yea... that Blade Runner theme is always on the lure to jump at you when you're not careful. I avoided it this time. But many good improvs were lost because of accidental Blade Runner Theme.
