Duel worthy? I have been wondering about going a bit further. Hear me out, this is crazy. It was many years ago I was injured and had to use a cane as I recovered. I thought if I was going to carry such a thing I wanted it to be made for me. My size, my style, multi-functional. I found a company to make me a walking implement wrought in solid, clear Lexan. It is made of 1.25" stock and in the shape of a regular crook'd cane but the "hook" part is a little wider to accommodate a (hypothetical) human neck and the curved end is fashioned into a somewhat rounded wedge-point. It's a 3 foot long clear staff with the durability and impact of a PR-24 nightstick, it terrifies me and it also helps me walk sometimes. What is neat is: even with the rubber end, it casts god-rays on the ground and picks up sunset colors as I limp along. I wonder if anyone has put something like this as a blade in a beefed-out metal hilt saber with some LED's to see if they could make an "admittedly not as bright but ultimately more legitimate weapon that could probably beat the life out someone but at least doesn't cut people like an actual laser-sword"...tm... ?.. ...I feel we can figure out a better name for that. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TLDR: Lightsaber prop/toy/awesome thing to have + 1.25" stock clear Lexan blade Is it an actual bludgeoning weapon? @@indigothepacifist1617 Well. In truth that post was the result of being drunk and thinking about nerd-stuff, which is a tradition of mine. From personal experience, Ultrasabers heavy grade blades are incredibly durable. I have been dueling with it extensively for a little unter a year and I've only got minor dents and scratches. I read a post somewhere about Escrima sticks. There are 1" diameter polycarbonate versions that are much thicker-wall than the blades available from saber companies. I don't suppose they would 'glow' very nicely but would certainly hold up to dueling. The hilt would have to be quite sturdy though. DISCLAIMER: I never tried them so proceed with caution.

My buddy let me use one his uncle had and told me to be careful with it, since it cost over $100 and was basically a hilt with a florescent light bulb attached and I just wondered what was the point of a lightsaber you couldn’t duel with and that didn’t even retract.
I am just getting into owning lightsabers, but I was wondering if Ultrasabers Blades with sound would be fine for dueling. I know that their stunt line doesn't include it but would everything be fine inside? Is it possible to add a chassis to Ultrasabers sabers?

Heh. We've broken many blades whilr duelling. Usually the first blades that come with the lightsabers break since they're probably not duelling grade. But we have broken duelling blades before, our duelling gets a lot more intense than it should.

With the way my Model Iota from Padawan Outpost rattles I don't think it'd do well in aggressive dueling, which I honestly wouldn't get involved in anyway. There's a tension screw on either side holding it down and in contact with the LED thing but the blade sort of shakes when you swing it in the direction opposite to the sides where the screws are. It is polycarbonate and 2mm thick but I don't know if it could take a real beating.

What is the lightsaber on the far right the light is very different and I'm confused
What are some ways you can protect the internal electronics if your lightsaber doesn't have a chassis?
I have no hands-on experience with this but id imagine any vibration damping or cushioning foam with a thin layer of something stiffer outside it would go a long way to keeping the electronics protected from impacts.
So is it physically impossible to have a thin-necked (ex: ROTJ Luke) Lightsaber that is duel worthy?
It probably wouldn't be impossible, but the materials the hilt is made of would have to be notably stronger to not be liable to breaking off.
Very few thin necks are duel worthy, most people just dont duel with them
I watched this then realized it was before galaxys edge so the blade is permanently attached for the Disney saber and was like “Huh?”
I just wanna know if I can film with one and itl5look the way it does in the movies.
Is there any ripper blade you can duel with?
