    Great video, & Happy Holidays, guys--sorry I missed the stream!
    Good on Paul's baby for cooperating with their stream--a Festivus miracle!
    So people are meme'ing on their opponents with Forbidden Power? I suppose the SS Bridge is a great screener/lane blocker, then also works as designed, LoL. Then the Horrorghast is an anti-troop version of The Burning Head. Then the Shards of Valagharr could triangulate behind your Portal-Loo/backline to block off set-up's. Primal Energy is more fun & friendly, but it's good to familiarize yourself w/ FP for tournaments.
    Though if it gets too egregious... GW will nail them (& S2D) in the next FAQ.
    I'm excited for the last hurrah of the Castigators, & enjoying that they accidentally(?) used the UW warband version (w/ the gryph-hound token) instead of the normal unit. I got plenty fatcast Libs to screen them with, & 6 fatcast Prosecutors, so it'll look very... 2E...
    I do like the idea of the Field Sgt. buffing 'At the Double' to a run-6-&-charge cmd. ability, though as a Cities guy... I enjoy movement bubbles to help my Officars to keep up with their units.
    If Mrigank is big stonks on Darkshards... shoot, I have 20 Glade Guard available as proxies. Especially if folks are excited to try more infantry with Field Sgt.

    Idk about everybody else but I’m stoked about the Judicator change and point drop. So much easier to run them in my lists.

      Making him an Exemplar is great. Now all he needs is for some heroes to be able to bring unlimited Exemplars in their regiment. Seems like a cool niche for Bastian and Lord-Celestants

    Great video guys as always very happy to hear from you. The problem with field Sargent is at list construction. Many bonus heroes cannot be taken by the heroes you want them to. For example I was trying to build a list to make the lrl hammers move 2” inches and avalenor cannot take a bonus hero. So you are forced to make another different batallion with a hole different hero just to take that bonus hero to get this buff. Seems not very well thought to me.

      @@edumh22 yeah the extra hero tax you need to pay for only +2 move will probably not be worthwhile for many armies.

    What I would love to see in the next Lord's of the Storm video is a good beginner list that is fun and effective. Being a very casual player, it's hard for me to wrap my brain around which way to go

    Field Sergeant is actually really tough for Khorne to access. The only mortal model that can take extra heroes is the mightly lord of khorne, which is a bad scroll. For daemons, the only sergeant option is Skulltaker, who is decent (not great, but decent) - but you don't really want to be making a bloodthirster your general in most cases, and paying 150 for a Herald that's just a bad priest for too many points just to be able to take skulltaker isn't worth it. Probably your best bet is still taking Skulltaker with a bloodthirster and either gambling on it being your 2nd or just making your bloodthirster your general and accepting that makes it easier to kill vs some stuff.
    A bunch of us have been fooling around with lists and most of us have come to the conclusion that unfortunately it probably isn't worth it - wrathmongers for 10 points less just seem like a better choice in most matchups.

      @@assistantref5084 yup... Unless +2 move allows you to charge turn 1, the cost seems to outweigh the benefit

      @@TheStormkeep Yep. Way too many limitations on it. I have no idea why they didn't let you take it on a foot hero that is *leading* a regiment, too. If you want to keep the flavor of it being a sergeant, just say the general can't take it. I.e. "pick a non-FLY INFANTRY hero other than your general. This hero does not have to be in your general's regiment, even if it is your first Honor Guard choice." Fluff solved, and it becomes much more useable. The whole point was clearly to try to buff infantry because it's an underperforming unit type, so why make it so hard to actually get the buff?

      @assistantref5084 I agree that the effect is weak enough that all the restrictions seem unnecessary... it seems like they are experimenting with different mechanics for regiments. Will be interesting to see what they do in the general's handbook next summer!

    FEC is definitely going to be top of the meta. You can get 24 inch feeding frenzy in round 1 now. Morbheg knights with feeding frenzy will mess you up and they can come back. Ushorans rampage is gross.

    A short video showing some of these forbidden power shenanigans would be helpful for newbies like myself. Also curious how the movement formation looks for this reclusian terminos qs draught combo. Thanks.

    Im gonna cross my fingers and hope they dont bring back combat ranges on a weapon by weapon basis because that is part of what originally kept me away was measuring every model to see if they can reach looked very tedious and unfun. Im down for it dropping to 2 inches but at the same time i want the models i bought, painted, and used to actually get to swing if i get them into combat not do tge equivalent of screening themselves out because for whatever reason my like witch aelves or liberators can reach around each other or rotate during combat to allow allies to assist them

      @@Ramza998 the change to make combat range 3" was great for making reinforced units playable, but I think the loss of screening+counterattack tactic has really diminished skill expression and made combat too simple
      In the stream we suggested moving to the 40k style of combat range (e.g. base to base with an enemy, or base to base with a friendly model thats base to base with an enemy) I think that would be a big improvement over the current rules

      Measuring distances soudns far worse than it actually was. In majority of scenarios you would know whenever mdoel can attack or not without measuring (eg, 2 rows of slaverats would always attack because their bases were smaller then 1" ; or the distanse was visibly to long), and otherwise you would just hang ruler above the minis and swiftly eyeball.
      it's actually not much different than how it is nowdays - it is just since all weapons have 3" range instead of varying ranges, so you always use same ruler side and it's easier to eyeball ranges.

    I do not think longtrikes can redeply and cover fire. They can run and shoot or charge, not run and do covering fire, which is a separate rule and clearly states the unit cannot have run to issue it.

      @@gameslord3706 Covering Fire uses the same phrasing as the regular Shoot ability now, so Vanguard Chamber should work

      @@TheStormkeep Incorrect. Their rule goes around the core ruling of not being able to use shoot abilities and run abilities in the same turn. But Covering fire itself cannot be used by an unit that has used a run ability. Just like you cant use covering fire with a unit that is in combat even though they might have "shoot in combat".

      @Jonahhi Check the wording on Shoot and Covering Fire. If Vanguard Chamber works on Shoot, it will work on Covering Fire
      You can't use CF on units in combat because it says to pick a unit that is not in combat

    19:59 Talking about the double turn is quite disappointing. Taking away would make AOS completely different with the same issues that 40k has... so there will be always issues there are no perfect games but i love that you have the opportunity to turn loss games into wins by playing into something like a double. In 40k if the oppo is in front then there is no return... if you love chess maybe this is for you but I like the unknown part. By the way, I played the last years on tournament and I never lost to the double turn. Not sure where you guys face the issue... maybe you play too greedy...

      @@Strade8 Yeah, covering fire tells you to resolve shooting attacks, rather than use shoot ability, so Run and shoot doesn't get around it

      @@warhammergamesclub1) there is a F.A.Q that says explicitly that you can cover fire after redeploy. Is that not valid anymore? Why is still there? (Commands 4.0)
      2) I don't understand why the "resolve attacks" should nullify run & shoot. Covering fire is a shoot ability, and run&shoot says you can use shoot ability even if you run.

      @@Strade8 I think the newer one takes prescident, thats general concensus. It just got left in error. Run and shoot lets you use a shoot ability after running. Covering fire does not tell you to use shoot ability, rather just resolve shooting attacks (very different). So run/shoot doesn't work

    All this faff with the double turn is unnecessary if they just restricted the double turn to only starting from BR3. If everyone had two turns before someone gets three, you don't need to do all this complicated weighing and balancing.
    It's always been the BR1-BR2 double that is problematic. They need to just admit there is no way to balance a game where someone can take the two most important turns in the game (bottom of BR1 and top of BR2) in a row.

      @@TheStormkeep I don't disagree personally, it wouldn't bother me if it went away. But a lot of people seem to really enjoy it, and it's been a part of the game since the beginning so I think the chances of it going away completely are very, very low.
      I think limiting it to BR3 removes the potential for an early double to the end the game while preserving the mechanic. I certainly think it's cleaner than all these "you're the undog and get X bonus unless Y, but if it's Tuesday then Z, except that sometimes it isn't" stipulations that just end up making the game even more complicated and prone to unintended consequences.
      You shouldn't need a flow chart to know what the impact of taking a turn is on the mechanics of the game.

      @@assistantref5084 I was once a Double Turn Enjoyer in first edition but I think every attempt at making the game more competitive and balanced - and arguably making the game better - has unfortunately made the double turn a worse mechanic. I think they will continue adding bandaid fixes like this underdog change throughout this edition, but will eventually come to the conclusion that the double turn needs to be removed in 5th.
