This is such a cool format, too bad, the people curating the ban list have pretty much stopped looking at problematic cards, since the last post was back in may.
Yeah I was shocked that hullbreacher wasn't banned. This format looks somehow more degen than commander
@@comet8157 yeah, it's way more degenerate, I can't get people to build decks and get a pod going because someone always ends up trying degenerate combos. The fact that you can run Narset the parter of veils (like in the video) in your command zone and windfall as signature spell says a lot about the lack of curation for the format.
@@LeftyPT I have a pretty decent tolerance for "unfun" cards, but narset + a wheel is so gross. Might as well just insta scoop if it resolves
As you saw in the video,the Narset Wheel deck didn't really have a strong board presence other than counter-wall... I always ask opponents who play this deck "So what's your plan to win?" "How many turns are you going to play fun police before pivoting to trying to end the game?"
@@maharg2645 it's not so much about what it did in this video, it's more about the fact a card like hullbreacher was banned in commander because it's literally unfun, seeing a combo like that in the command zone would lead me to NOT want to play against it.
Something like the elderspell on the command zone shouldn't be allowed either, coming in with a spell to specifically deal with other planeswalkers, it's like having Karakas in Commander.
Shouldn't Crop Rotation be the most valuable card? After all, it was that card that brought Glacial Chasm and the Dark Depths combo.

I'm glad you are doing more oathbreaker videos. I really like this format and I haven't seen a lot of content for it.
A little after oathbreaker was introduced, me and a buddy brewed Oko, Thief of Crowns and Shape Anew. The only artifacts were Possessed Portal and Blightsteel Colossus
Also it's kind of a joke how long Oko was legal. Is he banned yet?

Even though I'm burnt out on magic, and haven't played a game in the last nine months or so, I still enjoy your content. Oathbreaker is an interesting format to me, I just don't know anybody in my area who's even built a deck
As someone who plays cEDH over other formats, the speed at which Oathbreaker became more popular with more "broken" pairings sort of distanced me from it. I had built one or two decks once it was recognized, and got to even play with the actual OB dudes at MagicCon Mpls for a more reasonable game. Though I am not super interested in playing against combinations like the ones in this vid. I personally enjoy OB more casually but I know that's just me.

Did Narset ever win a game? Everyone thinks this deck is a house, but I've never seen it put up numbers.
imo it seems to be a much more "fair" regular control deck the way the archetype operates in 1v1 formats; the low HP enable more aggressive stuff that could just aggro the narset player down and also with everyone having acess to a planeswaker and a spell even when they are hellbent seems to mitigate the hand denial issue.
I personally think that Tezzeret Master of the Bridge/Thoughtcast is a very potent Oathbreaker deck
For 6 manas to cast Tezzeret you probably are alredy death when you cast it.
@@marcelolima70 the thing is though, you only need to activate Tezzeret once to win the game. I have a budget Tezzeret deck and it's pretty insane.

I was impressed with the Elves deck most tbh despite having so much destruction pointed it’s way it still was threatening to win constantly. Had that hate homes elsewhere I think they would have probably won, elves was heavily interacted with while wren and six had such little interaction pointed it’s way.

I've never played oathbreaker, but I brewed up a rakdos super friends list with Jeska and Tevesh Szaat, and because partners each get a signature spell they've got Jeska's will and The Elderspell, so basically the idea is to cast Jeska and use Jeska's Will to see a bunch of cards while gaining a bunch of mana to cast Tevesh and either flood the board with chump blockers, or Elderspell away everyone else's oathbreakers so Tevesh can ult right then and take all the oathbreakers.
