The diameter or thickness of Zeus' lightning bolts feel... less godly, honestly. It looks so repressed. Like, show us some Big Ass Lightning Beam that's meant to take on Darkseid.

12:25 the way I see it is she wasn't just trying to stop a bomb. She was trying to stop innocent people getting killed by a 4 block radius explosion. That wall getting destroyed is nothing and didn't hurt anyone but the terrorist leader. Also works as a way to measure how powerful that move is.

to me "your letting them kill martha" was a reminder of the helplessness he had as a child in not being able to do anything, finding out it was his mothers name allowed Bruce to connect with the fact that in a dire moment Superman was worried about another life more than his own, saw an altruistic nature in him and a chance to face a fear/nightmare scenario in "saving Martha"
The Martha Scene was actually Clark manipulating Bruce. Clark could have killed Bruce at any time and said so. He was sandbagging the whole time, because if you look at how long he was affected by the gas, it was already out of his system when Bruce stood over him with the spear. We later saw Supes fly with the spear and stab Doomsday with it. That means that Clark had enough power to stop Bruce while Bruce was standing over him and chose not to. He used Martha's name to trigger Bruce. Anybody else would have said, "Save my mother, you're letting them kill her." Clark showed his intelligence by using Bruce's childhood trauma to turn him back into the hero. Lois supplied a more noble answer and fans have run with it, but Clark had been investigating Batman and overheard Bruce and Alfred on the radio so knew that Bruce was Batman and even called him that when they faced off and he tried to warn him about Lex. Clark knew that Bruce had demons that needed to be exorcised before he could return to the light. So Clark let Bruce beat on him because Clark could take it. Then, when Bruce was the point of no return, Clark triggered his trauma, shocking Bruce out of his rage.
first, congratulations on your marriage, i'm super happy for you both. second, i'm much more a Marvel fan, but Snyder's cut of this movie is one of the most breathtaking cinematic experiences i've witnessed in my 39 years on this planet. i didn't care for most of the DC films, and wasn't even interested in seeing this at first, but i found myself bored with several hours to kill one day and gave it a shot. it blew me away, and i'll never forgive Joss Whedon for what he did to this movie (not to mention all the other things i won't forgive him for). anyway, like i said, congrats again and i hope you enjoy your honeymoon!

You can use zippo lighter fluid to remove the residue from the PROMO sticker, just don’t use too much of it. Gently peel the sticker and use a small amount of lighter fluid as needed, and the residue will come right off with a little wiping. I used to be in the second hand action figure market, and this would be what we used to take price sticker residue off packaging to keep it in great shape.
I'm glad Holden clarified this was made before the wedding. But real talk, if you get married and then immediately come home to react to Justice League? That's real real love, lol.
1st: Congratulations on the wedding. 2nd: I prefer the Zack Snyder version of Justice League over the original theatrical release. This one fills the plotholes so nicely and showcases the reasoning for each of the founding members joining/forming the League.
This movie perfectly embodies how DC depicts their heroes. Unlike Marvel, who usually depicts their heroes as random nobodies just trying to do the right thing while living their own lives, DC depicts their heroes as legends or gods among men. In this movie, we essentially see the heroes ascend into godhood as they prove themselves worthy of protecting the world from Darkseid's inevitable invasion. And I can't wait to see Shazam, Green Lantern, Blue Beetle, Supergirl and Zatanna join the team as well.

They should have had individual movies first, of course, but I think should have left out all the back story info for the others in this. It ruins the opportunity for those origin stories to have an impact in the future individual movies. I can understand newer Spidermans and Batmans not having to have origin stories in reboots but we've never had legit movie origins for Cyborg and Flash.

@@borisb8735 Origin stories aren't an absolute necessity as I stated, but there are a ton of people who have no clue who some of these characters are and therefore have no attachment to them in advance. Clearly having an individual, standalone movie for the major superheroes is the best strategy. I never read comic books and had no clue who Cyborg was or what his powers were prior to this movie. The Hulk, on the other hand, pretty much everyone knows at least what he's about. Captain America is an essential story that had to be told because it's the origin of the Avengers. If you didn't have Thor's original movie, then you would have to rewrite a lot of the Avengers to help him fit in. Even then, you're still going to have to set up worlds like Thor's even if he didn't get a standalone prior to the Avengers.
Don't know if it was intentional or not but when the Spartans in 300 yell they say "HA-OOH!" But the Amazon's yell it, its in reverse "HOO-AH!" thought it was pretty cool and wondered how no one ever noticed
FUN FACT: At 21:16 that metallic spider-insect Steppenwolf uses on the Atlantians head was supposed to be a nod to starro the conqueror. Maybe if we would have kept getting this Snyder verse going his sequels would have maybe had starro be a villain down the line… of course we know now how it turns out, starro was used in The Suicide Squad anyways but very different and not a metallic spider.
I always wonder how people would react to the two movies. I usually like seeing the theatrical cut first because it's the bad one then Snyder cut because then it goes from bad feeling to good feeling. It will be interesting to see if her long term enjoyment of this movie is effected by having to end on the theatrical cut.
Crazy to think that this was supposed to be out before Infinity War, at least like a 3 hour version of this. But it also seems like this could have been split into two movies like it was supposed to be when it began production.
And someone who isn't a huge fan of CW shows as a genre, I definitely enjoyed the first three or four seasons of the Flash series. I would definitely suggest it.
Touching on why the Snyderverse got cancelled: You're correct, WB doesn't know what they're doing with these characters, and frankly never have. But to elaborate (as to my understanding): back in 2016-2017 there was a lot of backlash against the tone of the franchise which WB interpreted as the reason why the films weren't making as much money as they wanted. So they brought in Joss Whedon to "fix" Justice League, and had so much confidence in the director of The Avengers they started either cancelling or reworking everything Zack Snyder had planned out. But then Justice League flopped at the box office, and WB decided to cut their losses. They coasted on what was left of Snyder's plans (namely Aquaman and Shazam) while putting together a completely new plan for the franchise. WB never intended to release Snyder's Justice League, so the fact we did get it is a small miracle but only served to give us fans false hope and a glimpse of what could have been.
WB never had a plan in the first place. They were chasing Marvel from the word go and rushed everything. If they had taken their time building the DCEU from the start instead of trying to do crossovers with their second film then they would have had a chance. It was stupid of them to already have Batman and Superman in a film together before Batman was established with his own film in the DCEU. Same with Wonder Woman, etc.
@@alucard624 I don't think every character needs their own film, like I think Batman wouldn't need one because we know his story so instead we could just see him in a smaller capacity in another film and then have him gather the team like he does here. And Aquaman and Flash could have stayed having their films post JL because JL gives us a nice little look into their worlds and then we get to explore that more in their solo films. Especially since its not like every character had their own film before the first Avengers. Like I think the DCEU should have gone MOS> MOS 2 > BVS (would have made the world losing Superman feel more impactful if we had more than 1 film with him) > Wonder Woman > Justice League then you throw in Aquaman, Flash, Shazam, Wonder Woman 2. etc. Then you show the heroes forming connections (like keep that Shazam post credits scene for example). Also for Justice League I'd have them fight a villain like Starro in the first one and then Felix Faust or something in the 2nd (use WW films as a way to introduce him) then have your Steppenwolf and then Darkseid Justice League film's. And during these time you could fill out the League roster more and more with stuff like an actual accurate Birds of Prey film, Green Arrow, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern, Hawkman or Hawkgirl projects.

The fact that the theatrical version didn't even come close to Victory/Cyborgs story as in ZS version, just shows how messed up and robbed we were back in 2017... The scene where he watches and helps the mother hit so hard Also 31:27, when they start talking about "turning smoke back to a house"/ressurecting Superman and the music builds up....i got chills!
Jen: To put it into perspective, Thanos is a literal joke compared to Darkseid. There was a Marvel/DC crossover where the two fought and it wasn't even close. Also you should definitely watch the CW shows: Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. They're VERY good.
Hey Holden, small life hack, don’t remember where I saw it but to get that sticker off and it’s residue, you can use the clear packaging tape and rub it against the sticker and then pull it off. Can’t remember if the brand matters but it should take that sticker and it’s residue off without damaging the cover
didnt really care too much for either cut, they both had their good bits and bad whedon version had more humor in it, with exception of that one scene actually helped humanize the characters the snyder version lengthened the action scenes, which made some of them too long and brought out some of the flaws in the special effects, especially in the amazon scene the use of music was crappy in snyder cut, I mean really, can Wonder Woman not fight without her theme song or does it ALWAYS have to play all in all just kinda MEH for me, at least I can still watch the GOOD Justice League in animation:P
It's been so long since I have watched this cut that I forgot about the constant Wonder Woman theme being played over and over and over. That and the fact that there was probably 20 full minutes of the movie that was in slo-mo was aggravating AF.
The music in this film is one of the best scores to a comic book movie ever. ESPECIALLY The Flash theme and the main theme. There were no scenes in Josstice League that humanised the characters in any way that was superior to anything in this film. You need you’re brain checked.

I know some people love everything Zack Snyder does and I don't want to launch stupid knee-jerk reaction from snyder fans. You love his movies, good for you ! Enjoy them. Personally, I think he is a good director for commercials, he makes pretty images with lots of slow motion but the depth of his movies is very shallow. And his approach to more serious topics through the lens of super-hero movies, shows imo a lack of understanding of those topics. Being dark and edgy does not mean being profound and it does not constitute "having a message or something to say". That being said, I still think that this version is (slightly) better than the theater release version.

The Snyder Cut is far superior in MOST respects, it gives vastly better character arcs to Flash and Cyborg and supporting characters like Silas Stone and Ryan Choi, improves Steppenwolf's look, and gives more depth to Darkseid's story. But ironically, it doesn't handle Superman as well as the theatrical cut. And Steppenwolf's obsession with Wonder Woman was just weird.

Plus it's the Kryptonian, had to sideline him for basically the entire movie when he's playing ping pong with Steppenwolf

The speech from his father as he makes the decision to return was excellent, but donning the black suit was completely incongruous as none of the narrative supported it- the reasons just weren't there. He should have come back in the classic blue and red, as the symbol of hope we know Superman to be.

But that is because it reflects the uncertainty and confusion of a father figure to Clark who is unsure of his son’s destiny and power. But in Zack’s Justice League, we hear Jonathan speak again. Only this time it’s different. This time it is almost an apology as he speaks a hopeful plea along with Jor El. Both his fathers now are together in his heart, united in their message. What Jonathan spoke to Clark sounded unsure and uncertain at first. But the bright and hopeful inspiration similar to Jor El’s was always there, it simply required a change of perspective to really hear it. Clark finds that perspective after being brought back, and if you watch the scene with Lois coming out to see Clark in the field at sunset, you will notice the massive smile on his face and the way he speaks. It is different. It is familiar to us when everything we saw beforehand was not. This is the first scene of the real Superman. He has finally reached that point. The origin is finally complete. In Justice League, we see the culmination of what we had been waiting for. That was always Zack’s intention. For us to see and experience everything Clark has to go through before he becomes the real Superman we all know and love. That is the reason he appears so much more hopeful and optimistic. He is finally the hero that inspires people and does so with a kind smile and a lovable attitude. Are you seriously trying to tell me Whedon’s cut did a better job in taking such a beautiful scene as the one where he finally remembers everything, kisses Lois in the field and embraces her and his mother, and turning it into a fucking joke about “death felt weird”?! Are you seriously trying to claim that Josstice League didn’t shit on what was clearly an emotional and moving payoff for three movies of buildup in favour of a series of stupid one dimensional jokes and empty one liners. And you think THAT gave more personal development?! You think THAT was more effective?! Please seek professional help.
This version is basically the same just with slight differences and "extra" scenes. Compared to the first version this one feels like it wastes so much time. Some of these extra scenes feel comletely pointless and only makes the movie alot longer. Some of the extra scenes are cool though (e.g. Flashes scenes). The use of slow motion in the movie was horrible, it felt like there was a slow motion scene every 10 minutes. In my opinion, this version is just a bad, just with a few cool scenes.
I understand the gripe of slow motion but certain scenes would look very strange and feel weightless of it wasn’t used( e.g. Amazon’s swinging the hammers, Wonder Woman analyzing the room of terrorists, The Flash saving the world)
As someone who buys a lot of retro games, with 75000 stickers on them, my advice on that sticker is to use Goo Gone and a q-tip. Apply a thin layer, wait 2 minutes, peel the sticker slowly. Apply more Goo Gone if it's still not entirely loose.

17:12 honestly glass is usually fine since in time the sand and salt water will wear it down. Hence sea glass that appears and ppl collecting them. Plastic is the issue with it basically almost impossible to degrade/wear it down unless it’s specifically made to dissolve later in salt water. Issue is anything can consume or tie to it even if dissolving down.
I finally got around to watching the snider cut so now I can finally watch this reaction. I was super surprised that she didn't know who The Flash was. He's someone that even if you don't know comics you at least have heard of the character.

12:25 the way I see it is she wasn't just trying to stop a bomb. She was trying to stop innocent people getting killed by a 4 block radius explosion. That wall getting destroyed is nothing and didn't hurt anyone but the terrorist leader. Also works as a way to measure how powerful that move is.

to me "your letting them kill martha" was a reminder of the helplessness he had as a child in not being able to do anything, finding out it was his mothers name allowed Bruce to connect with the fact that in a dire moment Superman was worried about another life more than his own, saw an altruistic nature in him and a chance to face a fear/nightmare scenario in "saving Martha"
The Martha Scene was actually Clark manipulating Bruce. Clark could have killed Bruce at any time and said so. He was sandbagging the whole time, because if you look at how long he was affected by the gas, it was already out of his system when Bruce stood over him with the spear. We later saw Supes fly with the spear and stab Doomsday with it. That means that Clark had enough power to stop Bruce while Bruce was standing over him and chose not to. He used Martha's name to trigger Bruce. Anybody else would have said, "Save my mother, you're letting them kill her." Clark showed his intelligence by using Bruce's childhood trauma to turn him back into the hero. Lois supplied a more noble answer and fans have run with it, but Clark had been investigating Batman and overheard Bruce and Alfred on the radio so knew that Bruce was Batman and even called him that when they faced off and he tried to warn him about Lex. Clark knew that Bruce had demons that needed to be exorcised before he could return to the light. So Clark let Bruce beat on him because Clark could take it. Then, when Bruce was the point of no return, Clark triggered his trauma, shocking Bruce out of his rage.

second, i'm much more a Marvel fan, but Snyder's cut of this movie is one of the most breathtaking cinematic experiences i've witnessed in my 39 years on this planet. i didn't care for most of the DC films, and wasn't even interested in seeing this at first, but i found myself bored with several hours to kill one day and gave it a shot. it blew me away, and i'll never forgive Joss Whedon for what he did to this movie (not to mention all the other things i won't forgive him for).

You can use zippo lighter fluid to remove the residue from the PROMO sticker, just don’t use too much of it. Gently peel the sticker and use a small amount of lighter fluid as needed, and the residue will come right off with a little wiping. I used to be in the second hand action figure market, and this would be what we used to take price sticker residue off packaging to keep it in great shape.

This movie perfectly embodies how DC depicts their heroes. Unlike Marvel, who usually depicts their heroes as random nobodies just trying to do the right thing while living their own lives, DC depicts their heroes as legends or gods among men. In this movie, we essentially see the heroes ascend into godhood as they prove themselves worthy of protecting the world from Darkseid's inevitable invasion. And I can't wait to see Shazam, Green Lantern, Blue Beetle, Supergirl and Zatanna join the team as well.

In case Jen asks, the reason they had so much in depth character stories first was because none of them had an origin movie first.
They should have had individual movies first, of course, but I think should have left out all the back story info for the others in this. It ruins the opportunity for those origin stories to have an impact in the future individual movies. I can understand newer Spidermans and Batmans not having to have origin stories in reboots but we've never had legit movie origins for Cyborg and Flash.

@@borisb8735 Origin stories aren't an absolute necessity as I stated, but there are a ton of people who have no clue who some of these characters are and therefore have no attachment to them in advance. Clearly having an individual, standalone movie for the major superheroes is the best strategy. I never read comic books and had no clue who Cyborg was or what his powers were prior to this movie. The Hulk, on the other hand, pretty much everyone knows at least what he's about.
Captain America is an essential story that had to be told because it's the origin of the Avengers. If you didn't have Thor's original movie, then you would have to rewrite a lot of the Avengers to help him fit in. Even then, you're still going to have to set up worlds like Thor's even if he didn't get a standalone prior to the Avengers.
Don't know if it was intentional or not but when the Spartans in 300 yell they say "HA-OOH!" But the Amazon's yell it, its in reverse "HOO-AH!" thought it was pretty cool and wondered how no one ever noticed

FUN FACT: At 21:16 that metallic spider-insect Steppenwolf uses on the Atlantians head was supposed to be a nod to starro the conqueror. Maybe if we would have kept getting this Snyder verse going his sequels would have maybe had starro be a villain down the line… of course we know now how it turns out, starro was used in The Suicide Squad anyways but very different and not a metallic spider.
I always wonder how people would react to the two movies. I usually like seeing the theatrical cut first because it's the bad one then Snyder cut because then it goes from bad feeling to good feeling. It will be interesting to see if her long term enjoyment of this movie is effected by having to end on the theatrical cut.
Crazy to think that this was supposed to be out before Infinity War, at least like a 3 hour version of this. But it also seems like this could have been split into two movies like it was supposed to be when it began production.
And someone who isn't a huge fan of CW shows as a genre, I definitely enjoyed the first three or four seasons of the Flash series. I would definitely suggest it.

Touching on why the Snyderverse got cancelled: You're correct, WB doesn't know what they're doing with these characters, and frankly never have.
But to elaborate (as to my understanding): back in 2016-2017 there was a lot of backlash against the tone of the franchise which WB interpreted as the reason why the films weren't making as much money as they wanted. So they brought in Joss Whedon to "fix" Justice League, and had so much confidence in the director of The Avengers they started either cancelling or reworking everything Zack Snyder had planned out. But then Justice League flopped at the box office, and WB decided to cut their losses. They coasted on what was left of Snyder's plans (namely Aquaman and Shazam) while putting together a completely new plan for the franchise. WB never intended to release Snyder's Justice League, so the fact we did get it is a small miracle but only served to give us fans false hope and a glimpse of what could have been.
i like how they thought cutting 30 mins of bvs was a good idea and somehow that wasn't the reason why people didn't fully understand the plot
WB never had a plan in the first place. They were chasing Marvel from the word go and rushed everything. If they had taken their time building the DCEU from the start instead of trying to do crossovers with their second film then they would have had a chance. It was stupid of them to already have Batman and Superman in a film together before Batman was established with his own film in the DCEU. Same with Wonder Woman, etc.
@@alucard624 I don't think every character needs their own film, like I think Batman wouldn't need one because we know his story so instead we could just see him in a smaller capacity in another film and then have him gather the team like he does here. And Aquaman and Flash could have stayed having their films post JL because JL gives us a nice little look into their worlds and then we get to explore that more in their solo films. Especially since its not like every character had their own film before the first Avengers. Like I think the DCEU should have gone MOS> MOS 2 > BVS (would have made the world losing Superman feel more impactful if we had more than 1 film with him) > Wonder Woman > Justice League then you throw in Aquaman, Flash, Shazam, Wonder Woman 2. etc. Then you show the heroes forming connections (like keep that Shazam post credits scene for example). Also for Justice League I'd have them fight a villain like Starro in the first one and then Felix Faust or something in the 2nd (use WW films as a way to introduce him) then have your Steppenwolf and then Darkseid Justice League film's. And during these time you could fill out the League roster more and more with stuff like an actual accurate Birds of Prey film, Green Arrow, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern, Hawkman or Hawkgirl projects.

Hey Holden, small life hack, don’t remember where I saw it but to get that sticker off and it’s residue, you can use the clear packaging tape and rub it against the sticker and then pull it off.
Can’t remember if the brand matters but it should take that sticker and it’s residue off without damaging the cover
didnt really care too much for either cut, they both had their good bits and bad
whedon version had more humor in it, with exception of that one scene actually helped humanize the characters
the snyder version lengthened the action scenes, which made some of them too long and brought out some of the flaws in the special effects, especially in the amazon scene
the use of music was crappy in snyder cut, I mean really, can Wonder Woman not fight without her theme song or does it ALWAYS have to play

It's been so long since I have watched this cut that I forgot about the constant Wonder Woman theme being played over and over and over. That and the fact that there was probably 20 full minutes of the movie that was in slo-mo was aggravating AF.
The music in this film is one of the best scores to a comic book movie ever. ESPECIALLY The Flash theme and the main theme. There were no scenes in Josstice League that humanised the characters in any way that was superior to anything in this film. You need you’re brain checked.

I know some people love everything Zack Snyder does and I don't want to launch stupid knee-jerk reaction from snyder fans. You love his movies, good for you ! Enjoy them. Personally, I think he is a good director for commercials, he makes pretty images with lots of slow motion but the depth of his movies is very shallow. And his approach to more serious topics through the lens of super-hero movies, shows imo a lack of understanding of those topics. Being dark and edgy does not mean being profound and it does not constitute "having a message or something to say".
That being said, I still think that this version is (slightly) better than the theater release version.

The Snyder Cut is far superior in MOST respects, it gives vastly better character arcs to Flash and Cyborg and supporting characters like Silas Stone and Ryan Choi, improves Steppenwolf's look, and gives more depth to Darkseid's story. But ironically, it doesn't handle Superman as well as the theatrical cut. And Steppenwolf's obsession with Wonder Woman was just weird.

i'll give you a tip, don't just take clark from this film, take his character development from man of steel with snapping Zod's neck, to losing faith in humanity in BVS to becoming superman. Plus it's the Kryptonian, had to sideline him for basically the entire movie when he's playing ping pong with Steppenwolf

The speech from his father as he makes the decision to return was excellent, but donning the black suit was completely incongruous as none of the narrative supported it- the reasons just weren't there. He should have come back in the classic blue and red, as the symbol of hope we know Superman to be.

But that is because it reflects the uncertainty and confusion of a father figure to Clark who is unsure of his son’s destiny and power. But in Zack’s Justice League, we hear Jonathan speak again. Only this time it’s different. This time it is almost an apology as he speaks a hopeful plea along with Jor El. Both his fathers now are together in his heart, united in their message. What Jonathan spoke to Clark sounded unsure and uncertain at first. But the bright and hopeful inspiration similar to Jor El’s was always there, it simply required a change of perspective to really hear it. Clark finds that perspective after being brought back, and if you watch the scene with Lois coming out to see Clark in the field at sunset, you will notice the massive smile on his face and the way he speaks. It is different. It is familiar to us when everything we saw beforehand was not.
This is the first scene of the real Superman. He has finally reached that point. The origin is finally complete.
In Justice League, we see the culmination of what we had been waiting for. That was always Zack’s intention. For us to see and experience everything Clark has to go through before he becomes the real Superman we all know and love. That is the reason he appears so much more hopeful and optimistic. He is finally the hero that inspires people and does so with a kind smile and a lovable attitude. Are you seriously trying to tell me Whedon’s cut did a better job in taking such a beautiful scene as the one where he finally remembers everything, kisses Lois in the field and embraces her and his mother, and turning it into a fucking joke about “death felt weird”?! Are you seriously trying to claim that Josstice League didn’t shit on what was clearly an emotional and moving payoff for three movies of buildup in favour of a series of stupid one dimensional jokes and empty one liners. And you think THAT gave more personal development?! You think THAT was more effective?! Please seek professional help.

Facts!!!
This version is basically the same just with slight differences and "extra" scenes. Compared to the first version this one feels like it wastes so much time.
Some of these extra scenes feel comletely pointless and only makes the movie alot longer.
Some of the extra scenes are cool though (e.g. Flashes scenes).
The use of slow motion in the movie was horrible, it felt like there was a slow motion scene every 10 minutes.
In my opinion, this version is just a bad, just with a few cool scenes.

As someone who buys a lot of retro games, with 75000 stickers on them, my advice on that sticker is to use Goo Gone and a q-tip. Apply a thin layer, wait 2 minutes, peel the sticker slowly. Apply more Goo Gone if it's still not entirely loose.

17:12 honestly glass is usually fine since in time the sand and salt water will wear it down. Hence sea glass that appears and ppl collecting them.
Plastic is the issue with it basically almost impossible to degrade/wear it down unless it’s specifically made to dissolve later in salt water. Issue is anything can consume or tie to it even if dissolving down.
