Glad that they Picked This Too Shall Pass as the Song at the End. It Symbolizes the meaning of Letting Go of the Past and that a New Era of DC is coming.
If you guys wanna see what a good Batman movie with Ben Affleck would’ve been like, react to The Accountant. It’s a great thriller. Also Affleck’s portrayal as a character with autism is pretty good.
I hope they bring Sasha Calle back as Supergirl but if not this was a standout one-time appearance (-_^ ) Never seeing her and Henry Cavill's Superman interact is a true loss for yet another perfect casting of the Kryptonian cousins much like Christopher Reeve and Helen Slater though kinda digitally done dirty here.
The TV series Continuum was premised on time travel. It was eventually revealed that time travel was something like time travel in Flash, where each time you go back you end up on a branched reality, not on your original time line, though history up to that point of your arrival was still the same. She had something of a crisis when she realized that it was impossible for her to get back to the reality she knew. It was a really good series, and I'd love to see someone react to it, but it's probably too obscure to ever make it on anyone's radar.
I’m going to assume the reason they didn’t create a whole new strand of spaghetti when they stopped Bruce and Kara dying is because they only went back a few minutes, compared to Barry going back a decade to save his mom. So the further you go back, the more you change.
Cool info: The costume department knew that the original Keaton Batman costume was very rigid and wasn't very flexible in the neck/head area, so before he showed up for fitting, they redesigned his suit with a more flexible rubber alternative. When he arrived, they told him of the improvement... but he insisted they go back to the original style as he had all the mannerisms all worked out according to the original suit's accommodations.
You're right, terrible PR was what sunk this movie's financial performance BUT while Miller was the biggest part of it no doubt, the state of the DCEU overall, and this was right after the whole mess with Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam, the failure of Shazam 2 as well as the changing of hands with James Gunn, really REALLY hurt this movie. That it was also poised, after so many woes, as the movie meant to reboot the DCEU, I think put a lot of people off.
27:05 it does make sense, because they are going back in time and staying there, not moving forward after changing something. Like flash did in the beginning with his mom. The timeline doesnt change until you move forward after the fact
Haha, I love that Jen wore an Avengers hoodie to watch DC’s The Flash 😂 Holden - what were you spoiled on?? I unwittingly learned of the Nic Cage cameo ☹️
I gota say, even tho Ezra did bad things IRL his acting playing two different characters was really good! Also great seeing all the timelines was amazing! If you get the chance watch Flashpoint the animated movie and you will see a lot of elements in this movie.
Lol Wtf? No, he's insufferable and lame the whole time, all throughout the movie, when I finally watched I was pissed I wasted my time watching it because it was way worse than the people who were hating on it said it was.
Yeah it's a alternate timeline when Barry went back to save his mom. When he returns from the past he returns into a completely new timeline. It's loosely based off the flashpoint paradox. It had it's good moments but for me seeing Keaton again was one of the best parts. I grew up with Keaton I love that he told the costume designer to keep the cowl the way it was in 89 and returns. That was something he created and it wouldn't be his Batman. Also why didn't they used the voice modulator for Affleck Batman like in the others. Anyone could tell who that Batman is.
This movie is so under appreciated I feel like most people just talked smack about it because of Ezra but as far as a super hero movie goes I really enjoyed this one
Honestly production complications aside, I had a good time w this movie. 2/3s of this movie to me is great, the 1st half of the 1st and 3rd act kinda drop the ball, but the entire midsection I loved. Kara and Keaton were amazing to see on the big screen, and I felt like Ezra did a great job of playing two versions of the same character, that also felt like separate people w the separate lives they lived. There was never a moment where I confused the two Barry’s. Zod and especially Faora were super under-utilised (I mean Faora didn’t even speak a word and she was one of the best parts of Man Of Steel) A pretty messy but fitting conclusion to the DCEU, w it centering around Man of Steel given it was also the first movie of this universe. A big mixed bag, not amazing but truly had some good moments.
The best things about this movie was Michael Keaton's Batman and Supergirl. I really do hope we see Sasha Calle as Supergirl again because i think she did a great job! Other than that, I thought the movie was horrible. I knew it wasnt going to happen but I was really really hoping that since the DCEU was gonna be rebooted they would take this opportunity and make it so that Grant Gustin would end up becoming our new Flash because of the timeline being messed up. Wishful thing😅
The mother, father and child did a great job too some of the ideas I like and rough design choices if they wouldn´t look that bad. This as restart of the whole franchise is a critical choice im one who wants to have the mindset of differentiating actor and real life person like I love Pepper Pots (maybe Tonys Charme is rubbing off) not a fan of her as a person but it is an active choice they made
glad u guys enjoyed it! i really enjoyed this movie more than i expected. i’m the last few years even movies i’ve looked forward too & really enjoyed like no way home i haven’t gon back to watch but this movie i’ve seen twice already & i’d watch it again. i honestly hope it gets a sequel despite the ezra mlller drama. i really liked this movie.
I think nwh has a bigger consequence at the end and makes the whole movie make sense, this movie it all happens and he makes a whole new universe and just kills the other Barry and leaves it all behind and ends up making his dad innocent, no impact on anything but making Clooney the Batman instead of Ben affleck
I enjoyed this movie more than i thought i would, I've always loved Michael Keatons Batman and seeing him return was great. Although his call back lines felt a little forced but i know others love them. I wish the old DC tribute cameos were more Flash related but i know there will be more movies and opportunities to do that, even if it wont be in the super near future with the universe reset
hey Holden, i don't know if you have heard of this but Andy Muschietti, the director of this is also directing The Brave and the Bold, the DCU's introduction to Batman. and Superman is being played by David Corenswet
I give it a 5.5 maybe a 6. You guys should watch Flashpoint Paradox although it’s animated, it is great as the comic event and changes. Pretty much what this movie was based on from that premise, and not only Flashpoint rebooted the DC comics to The New 52, but the DCAU…. Highly recommend it and hope others agree.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the flashpoint storyline but I highly recommend watching the DC animated film the flashpoint paradox. It's terrific. Also in The flash TV show, the villain in the fifth season I believe is named Savitar and that's actually a future version of Barry who kept on trying to change the past. His suit was somewhat similar to this Berry with a bunch of metallic spikes.
5:49 e-trade baby. 6:50 he has some kind of armor over his suit so he would be able to slide on the asphalt. I love the whole lasso of truth scene with Batman & the Flash. 9:55 If you’ve seen “Shawshank Redemption” you should recognize the poster on the wall he phases through. 7:57 Billy Crudup was supposed to but filming schedule caused them to have to recast him with Ron Livingston. 16:03 I like how they hide his face until the reveal. I think it makes it better. 17:05 this is the Bruce Wayne that Barry needed to start with. He said things Barry needed to hear. 17:24 it’s what Commissioner Gordon finds on Jokers body in 89. 18:18 fun fact about his suit is they tried to make his suit more flexible and he said it needed to be stiffer cause of how it was in 89 & 92. He had to turn his whole body so this suit had to be the same. 19:30 a Michael Keaton “Batman Beyond” movie. That’s what DC needs to do next. 25:43 as Keaton Batman said that was Barry created a timeline mess like the cooked pasta the timeline was no longer straight. 27:21 unless cause they didn’t go back so far in time they were still in the same universe. 28:48 I like how the red paint falls off his suit as he keeps going back in time showing him changing to evil (in a way). 30:51 I think they decided to do the Superman Returns with Brandon Routh instead. 33:32 Jason Momoa must have had a blast filming this end credit scene.
I was annoyed too by past Barry but I understood why he was like that. Makes sense because that Barry never experienced loss the way present Barry did.
When They Made This Movie When They Were Making The Bat Suit For Michael Keaton They Were Going Make It Where He Can Turn His Head And Actually Can Move But He Told Them Noo Keep It How It Was In The Tim Burton Films
You need to see "The Death of Superman Lives, What Happened?" by Jon Schnepp, who unfortuanetly passed away a few years ago, but this was his dream project and he made it happen. It features Tim Burton, Kevin Smith and producer Jon Peters among many other faces and interviews. It's awesome. You won't regret watching this.
It should be noted that during the last weeks of post-production for The Flash movie, James Gunn got involved and changed many things, especially the ending because he didn't want the Snyderverse to continue and disrupt his version of upcoming DCU movies.
I think timeline wise, I think it works. If his mom dying is the junction point, then we he goes back 5 mins and not back to her, he is in the same timeline. It doesn’t drastically change again til he goes back to say goodbye to his mom. Then we get Clooney.
I wish they had done a end credits scene where Bruce is chatting with Barry and introduced his friend....Terry McGuiness( I know I misspelled it) in full BATMAN BEYOND gear.
You went into this with the right mindset - turn your brain off and enjoy the show. it's not great but if you just look at it for 2.5 hours of entertainment, it does it's job, like a Michael Bay movie. Like you also, I enjoyed everyone that wasn't the flash. I would love a Kara movie, the Nick Cage superman with the Peters Giant spider was fantastic, Michael Keaton Batman....... i don't know the number of times i saw Batman and Batman Returns as a kid. I loved that Michael Keaton was willing to come back and do this, it made the movie for me.
When the other barry died a friend I saw the movie with said "that's a way to kill yourself". Also he actually didn't go back to another universe when he time traveled it just changes the timeline more than it should
Re them going back to save Keaton’s Batman towards the end, and not being in another universe again, I think it was tried to explain that it’s only at critical points/events when something is changed it leads to a different universe, as opposed to slight changes to the timeline. Possibly also because it was just a recent moment so it hadn’t been cemented as a critical point yet so going back only a short time might avoid that issue until he goes back far enough and changes something
Yeah I have to say I kind of loved this movie. I just watched it this weekend, I put it off until it was cheap because of the terrible reviews, but ended up really enjoying it. The CGI was generally bad, but was just "fine" enough for me that it did not pull me out of the movie. Maybe because the movie as a whole was more silly, and not trying to be super real. I thought Miller was excellent, very funny and played both versions of him well. All of the cameos and nods to other universes was very fun. I thought Supergirl very good, she had very limited screen time so hard to say for sure, but I liked the look and feel of the character, I hope they keep her and don't recast or just drop the character. The main thing I did not like, was how they never resolved Supergirl's story. I assume in the new timeline there's a good chance she is still held captive in Russia. I was hoping Barry would at least say he has to check or save her even if he does not do it in this movie. The other thing was I thought "Evil Flash" was too easy to see coming, and was way too easy to resolve. But overall this is one of my top 3 or 4 DCEU movies.
15:32 in the comics apparently when you do a Flashpoint you just being there causes everything to shift and in this universe I'm guessing the can of tomatoes had a big impact on everything.
Holden if you didn't know, Nicholas Cage is a big comic book fan in general. His real name is Nicholas Coppola, as he's the nephew of Director Francis Ford Coppala. He chose the stage name Cage, because he is/was a fan of the Marvel character Luke Cage, that you watched in the Defenders series. Also there is a documentary about the Nicholas Cage/Tim Burton Superman movie. It was made by artist Jon Scnepp, who you may have watched on the Collider UA-cam channel, before he passed away. It's a great documentary that you should be able to find easily, if you want to watch. That Superman movie was in pre production, about to film, when it was cancelled.
Well it makes sense in terms of DC as in flashpoint comics/animation movie when Barry saved his mom he changed the timeline completely events before his moms death were also changed and as thawne explained that a time boom causes ripples of distortion across the timeline whenever you change something hence the ripples change everything in past and future...
As a fan of Ben Affleck Batman, he didn’t use a voice changer like the past movies but his Batman voice was amazing. Much better than Christian Bale in all aspects
I would honestly love to see Holdan and Jen watch The Flash tv show on the channel it’s honestly one of my favorite flash shows as the suit gets more comic accurate as the show goes on.
Re Clooney returning for a cameo, I’m pretty sure they tried to get Bale back but he wasn’t interested. They previewed the movie early and it didn’t show him at all, just had Ezra’s ‘who the f**k is this?’ Like and then cut to credits. It seems this movie had a LOT of delays and reshoots, I think people in charge at WB & DC at the time wanted rid of all Snyder’s versions of the characters and intended to end the movie with Keaton permanently in place as the current Batman so then the now cancelled Batwoman movie that had already been filmed with Keaton in it and also with JK Simmons (reprising his role of Gordon from Justice League) could make sense. When David Zaslov took over WB when the Discovery takeover took place, I think he decided to try and right the ship while saving costs and clearing up the audience confusion from too many different versions, and then James Gunn was put in charge to reboot the DCU, so I think they decided to do a throwaway joke at the end with Clooney. To be honest, it’s a perfect analogy for how sh**ty they’ve treated the franchises and the fans IMO.
I loved this movie actually. I didn’t really have any complaints other than the cgi and I kind of wanted more dark flash but other than that everything else I loved.
2:05 okay, so. The CliffNotes version is: Ezra Miller has been causing people actual headaches off-camera, up to and including barging into people’s hotel rooms and smashing up personal property. There was a statement supposedly put out by them (by which I mean Ezra; Ezra uses they/them pronouns) that was an apology but it felt more like a prepared statement from their agent or publicist or whoever.
Movies hella underrated. As for it being connected to cinematic universes and shit, i couldn't care less. I watch movies to have fun, not because i have to in order to understand later movies. I do acknowledge the movies problems such as: CGI, Last part of the movie was rushed etc As for the ezra drama, i couldn't give a shit. Its Hollywood, theyre all fked up. Its like not watching Tobeys spiderman movies because the guy who plays harry is now controversial
My guess is that either they are re-entering different realities of that moment, or when going back to the past, the other Flash knocked him into another one. He can go back through time without changing anything, but got knocked into an alternate one instead.
31:30 comic books in general, actually. Not only did Nicolas Cage choose his professional name based on Luke Cage, also called Power Man, but he actually has a tattoo of Ghost Rider somewhere on his body.
I get it. The movie is far from perfect. The stylistic choice that everyone hates with the wonky cgi should have been different but Keaton’s Batman, Supergirl, Batffleck, Wonder Woman and some other things for me made it worth the watch. I don’t always need to be so critical of a movie that gives me so much to like. Time travel in movies is always messy but always fun. We definitely need more Calle’s Supergirl.
Happy you both enjoyed the film, it’s a lot of fun especially if you’re in you’re mid 30’s 😂 Keaton Batman and the theme was handled very well, check out the deleted scenes! There very much worth watching! Cheers guys
I'm really jealous. I wish I had said, "Baby shower" to my wife during that disaster scene. You should watch the animated Flashpoint movie and the two Deaths of Superman movies. They were better than the live action. Batman's explanation of ripples through time in the animation made more sense than in this movie.
The george clooney Batman was the first Batman movie i had ever seen in theaters when i was a little kid. That bit at the end with him was so funny lol
Justifyable complaints about the CGI, however the fact that you didnt mention the masterful use of effects to have 2 Ezra Millers acting together for most of the movie just goes to show how good it was.

"They couldn't put a real baby in the microwave" might be my new favourite out of context quote.
I think they were making an accountant 2?
@@MattBlahulee I think they’re still planning on doing it. But with the strikes right now, it’s uncertain when they’ll start shooting.
I am so glad you reminded me how much I liked that movie
I hope they bring Sasha Calle back as Supergirl but if not this was a standout one-time appearance (-_^ )
Never seeing her and Henry Cavill's Superman interact is a true loss for yet another perfect casting of the Kryptonian cousins much like Christopher Reeve and Helen Slater though kinda digitally done dirty here.
Continuum great show, that seem to be predicting our future
I’m just disappointed Gunn changed the ending and post-credits scene.
That was Helen Slater who played the 1980s supergirl. She also played Supergirls adapted mother in the tv show
I’m going to assume the reason they didn’t create a whole new strand of spaghetti when they stopped Bruce and Kara dying is because they only went back a few minutes, compared to Barry going back a decade to save his mom.
So the further you go back, the more you change.
Cool info:
The costume department knew that the original Keaton Batman costume was very rigid and wasn't very flexible in the neck/head area, so before he showed up for fitting, they redesigned his suit with a more flexible rubber alternative.
This film was announced around the same time that the Flash tv show started. It just finished its ninth and last season
27:05 it does make sense, because they are going back in time and staying there, not moving forward after changing something. Like flash did in the beginning with his mom. The timeline doesnt change until you move forward after the fact
Lmfaooo Holden doing the Leo DiCaprio when Keaton said i’m batman, what a legend 😂
Glad that Holden and Jen Enjoyed the Movie! ONE OF THE BEST DC MOVIES!
I Wish that they Kept the Original Ending with Keaton Batman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Superman appearing at the End!
Haha, I love that Jen wore an Avengers hoodie to watch DC’s The Flash 😂 Holden - what were you spoiled on?? I unwittingly learned of the Nic Cage cameo ☹️
I too enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. Best comedy I've seen in years. :)
I saw people say they didnt like it but I really enjoyed it also lol
I gota say, even tho Ezra did bad things IRL his acting playing two different characters was really good! Also great seeing all the timelines was amazing! If you get the chance watch Flashpoint the animated movie and you will see a lot of elements in this movie.
Honestly he's my favorite flash... Feels taboo to say that ik the actor is a piece of shit but on screen he's great
Lol Wtf? No, he's insufferable and lame the whole time, all throughout the movie, when I finally watched I was pissed I wasted my time watching it because it was way worse than the people who were hating on it said it was.
Alot of the controversy turned out to be BS anyway, I enjoyed ezras flash and they're a very well rounded actor
@@draconianemanations2785 keep coping lil bro
@@iiMargwas 🤣 pfft, movie bombed, it's Ezra and shills like you who need a dose of that copium
Zod and especially Faora were super under-utilised (I mean Faora didn’t even speak a word and she was one of the best parts of Man Of Steel)
A pretty messy but fitting conclusion to the DCEU, w it centering around Man of Steel given it was also the first movie of this universe.
The mother, father and child did a great job too
some of the ideas I like and rough design choices if they wouldn´t look that bad.
This as restart of the whole franchise is a critical choice
im one who wants to have the mindset of differentiating actor and real life person
like I love Pepper Pots (maybe Tonys Charme is rubbing off) not a fan of her as a person
but it is an active choice they made
Lol. You think the movie was horrible and want Gustin as the dceu flash? Couldn't disagree more.
@@mrgotitfordalowexactly, CW is CW for a reason lol
@@mrgotitfordalow Then i guess we'll just disagree. I think Grant Gustin did a fantastic job!
@@JamesWiseMagic yea for CW
glad u guys enjoyed it! i really enjoyed this movie more than i expected. i’m the last few years even movies i’ve looked forward too & really enjoyed like no way home i haven’t gon back to watch but this movie i’ve seen twice already & i’d watch it again. i honestly hope it gets a sequel despite the ezra mlller drama. i really liked this movie.
Helen Slater was the actress from the 80's Supergirl. She was in Legend of Billie Jean and City Slickers
She also played Supergirl's mum in the tv show, lol
hey Holden, i don't know if you have heard of this but Andy Muschietti, the director of this is also directing The Brave and the Bold, the DCU's introduction to Batman. and Superman is being played by David Corenswet
That opening sequence with Batman is the Bats I think we need
JEN'S FACE IS PRICELESS!
This movie was awesome. It got torn down by a bunch of people that never saw it.
Jen are you serious? You don't even look like you just had a baby. Way to bounce back girl!
I was annoyed too by past Barry but I understood why he was like that. Makes sense because that Barry never experienced loss the way present Barry did.
After everything Miller has done, it's fitting that his version The Flash has been banished to the Foreververse.
Loved the Avengers shirt while watching The Flash.
I wore a Superman shirt to a Marvel movie last year.
I wish they had done a end credits scene where Bruce is chatting with Barry and introduced his friend....Terry McGuiness( I know I misspelled it) in full BATMAN BEYOND gear.
I don't want that unless they're doing the movie.
But overall this is one of my top 3 or 4 DCEU movies.
congrats on the baby guys! i can’t remember the last time i saw a video from you guys but damn this just took me back like 3 years almost
Lol that baby scene is totally the perfect scene to watch after becoming parents! 🤣😂
(Jens reaction to that got a chuckle out of me;)
They have other kids
15:32 in the comics apparently when you do a Flashpoint you just being there causes everything to shift and in this universe I'm guessing the can of tomatoes had a big impact on everything.
This movies was not as bad as people say, it was genuinely a fun watch.
It's a great day when Holden and Corridor Crew upload Flash content
Fun fact: Nicolas Cage lives Superman so much, his firstborn son is named Kal-El.
Even better, Nick named his second son "Kal-El" after Superman. Now that's a real fan!
I would honestly love to see Holdan and Jen watch The Flash tv show on the channel it’s honestly one of my favorite flash shows as the suit gets more comic accurate as the show goes on.
according to this and ZSJL, going back seconds doesn't change the timeline
27:15 it does make sense cause they haven't changed anything yet. In order for a new timeline to be created you have to change something in the old
“This cinematic universe is going to be dismantled anyways” legit about to watch the movie that dismantles it
You guys should really watch Flashpoint Paradox, and maybe even some of the follow up animated movies. Superior in every way
Re Clooney returning for a cameo, I’m pretty sure they tried to get Bale back but he wasn’t interested.
All three seasons of the CW Flash were pretty good. It's unfortunate they never made any more after the third...
It already sucked by season 3. Savatar was a lame villain and storyline. Admittedly it got much worse than that in later seasons.
You are correct, the 3d-ish time dome effect was made intentionally like as an allegory to the Justice League animated series opening
We need a Micheal Keaton Batman Beyond movie
He was the best part of the movie
In Clooney's defense, he wasn't a bad Batman. He was in a bad Batman movie
It is hilarious how Jen talking about how she is not super eager to watch this DCEU movie, while wearing an Avengers hoodie. 😂
You need to see Flashpoint animated to see how they took bits and pieces to make this Flash movie
Movies hella underrated. As for it being connected to cinematic universes and shit, i couldn't care less. I watch movies to have fun, not because i have to in order to understand later movies.
I do acknowledge the movies problems such as: CGI, Last part of the movie was rushed etc
As for the ezra drama, i couldn't give a shit.
Who else is mad Holden didn’t notice the batwing in the moon shot in 18:41
Despite the rushed CGI on some parts, this movie was actually decent. I watched it multiple times already, it was a very good time
The flash is one of the most OP characters, endless power
Happy you both enjoyed the film, it’s a lot of fun especially if you’re in you’re mid 30’s 😂 Keaton Batman and the theme was handled very well, check out the deleted scenes! There very much worth watching! Cheers guys
I'm really jealous. I wish I had said, "Baby shower" to my wife during that disaster scene.
You should watch the animated Flashpoint movie and the two Deaths of Superman movies. They were better than the live action. Batman's explanation of ripples through time in the animation made more sense than in this movie.
Jenn should've just pointed to her hoodie when Holden asked "how you feeling going into this"
The george clooney Batman was the first Batman movie i had ever seen in theaters when i was a little kid. That bit at the end with him was so funny lol
Bith nic cage and helen spater actually filmed their scenes for this movie, nic cage even had his suit actually made just for this movie
The CGI in the film was absolutely a stylized choice. Its supposed to look like a comic book.
SASHA CALLE WAS GREAT AS SUPERGIRL!
For the cw dc shows grant gustin (flash) and Melissa benoist (supergirl) were both characters on the fox show glee
Justifyable complaints about the CGI, however the fact that you didnt mention the masterful use of effects to have 2 Ezra Millers acting together for most of the movie just goes to show how good it was.
The baby from the last Twilight movie looked more convincing than the babies that Barry saved.
Now you gotta show Jen The Flash TV Show
I like how Jen is wearing a Marvel sweater
