    The new current new generation of robot technology is finally starting to get like something I'm interested in purchasing. Still looking for a few other feature however the biggest issue now is mainly the price. I am looking forward to your review.

    S7 rocks! i had sensors failure message last year. bought 15$ cliff sensors set from AE, replaced them (as there's very thorough video on disassembly) and it is still cleaning "hard"! over 1000 hours of usage

    hey, have you seen the 3i s10 ultra that recycles its water and has rolling mop roller that can extend for edge cleaning?

    I saw a video from roborock about a G20 or something that uses the same hardware as the curve but with the slim new navigation system.. Things are starting to look awesome

    Cool design. If they have done it properly this will rely on the cameras more to assist with navigation, which in theory should provide better obstacle avoidance. Interested to see how well it does.

    I have the S8 maxV plus and am very happy with it, but the new stuff being discussed is truly amazing. What would make it perfect is an added to tank to wax my wood floors after it has vacuumed and mopped. Roborock? Are you listening?

    very interesting, although when roborock announces its new model in a month at the most this one will already be outdated.

    Good luck for them - Ecovacs did the same thing to X2 Omni! And everyone knows how X2 Omni performs :)

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  4 дні тому

      Yea I think the X2 is very flawed. Compare that to the Eufy S1 Pro which has front mounted lidar and the difference is night and day.

    How do you get access to these robots way before they hit the market?

  • @CNCAddict

    Hopefully they soon remove the mechanical bumper as well! It's long overdo.

    Things will start to become more interesting when they finally manage to make smaller robots to enter narrow spaces. They are already pretty short in my opinion.

    Curious if blogger has compared the Qrevo Slim to the Qrevo Slim to see if the accessories are fully compatible? (Roller Brush, Side Brush, Filter, Cloth, Dust Bag)

      Sometime in October for the US market.

    Meanwhile Dreame increased the height for the stupid voice assistant with the L40 😅
    But it’s great to see some new innovations and I’m really curious if ToF navigation has any downsides (e.g. mirrors)

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  5 днів тому +1

      Roborock uses their object avoidance to help recognize mirrors so I assume it should be no different here. Lidar on the other robots is essentially a spinning ToF sensor.

    What do you think an estimated price would be, I think 1400

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  5 днів тому

      Depends on the market. Only speculation at this time. My guess is close to the Qrevo Master.

    • @thomas1988de1

      According to Notebookcheck (German website) the retail price will be 1.299,99€ so between qrevo master and edge. But not sure if that's the final price or if there will be any launch promotions.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  5 днів тому +5

      No, not quite. iRobot uses vSLAM to navigate (Cameras) and no ToF sensors. vSLAM is not as accurate as Lidar / ToF.

    • @SpeedFlap
      @SpeedFlap 5 днів тому

      @@jamie.andrews Right. PreciSense / StarView is actually a 3D LiDAR which can do near-range obstacle detection and far-range mapping with the same sensor.
      I'm curious about the performance. In theory it should be able to detect obstacles as short as 1cm height and avoid some instead of climbing on them. It will be a matter of software performance to distinguish between a threshold to climb and a flat obstacle to avoid.
