Sprint 8 is amazing. I do it on the treadmill and it’s intense. Feel like im going to die afterwards. That’s how I know it’s working. Also Phil is a great guy. I goto the same gym as him and see him there all the time!!!
Sprint 8 has changed the way I train for the last 6 years. Energy up, biometrics all numbers (blood pressure etc) are strong and allows me to be gentle on my body. Phil is the real deal and so is Sprint8. Best medicine available...naturally. Building muscle at 56 years old! Thanks Phil.
I have done sprint 8 for years and then came covid.... just getting back into it on my Bowflex M9 trainer...took more than a week to be able to even get to 8 sprints... now the building begins. This was an awesome interview and THANK YOU Phil PS READ his Sprint 8 book before you begin!!
I’ve been running for 20 years, and have always worked in 1 min on/off sprinting. I just bought a Matrix with sprint8, have done it once and I’m already hooked.
Thanks for this interview. I now have more appreciation for what this exercise can do when done properly. The frequency of doing Sprint 8 is every other day for the muscle fibers to recover correct? So my question is... is that for all the muscle fibers to recover (slow and fast twitch) or just the faster twitch? Can I do low intensity workouts on the in between days like a walk/light run on a treadmill since it won't affect the fast twitch fibers? I don't want to do too much but would like to maybe do something on the other days without interfering with my Sprint 8 results/recovery. Also, quick question for anyone who has a Matrix elliptical. Does yours shake a bit on low intensity when doing the Sprint 8 intervals? It seems a little clunky but when the resistance kicks in it is smooth again. Just wondering! Thank You!
same principle applied to HIT in weight training...lifting until momentary muscle fatigue...one or two sets per exercise...shorter and less frequent workout durations

I remember seeing him on Dr. Mercola a long time ago. His method has greatly improved my health. Tell Phil thanks.

What's your regime? Are you doing weight training aswell?

Is Sprint 8 considered Zone 5 training?
Can a72 year old male with A-fib do this ?
yes, because your intensity although will feel high ,will be low. I taught a 74 year old this ,he loved it. ah just go up a slight incline.
