I'm all for evolving sounds of a band but tbh this and the last album will never top the first two, but that's just me
more psychedelic than bluesy but i still like it
I scrolled through hundreds of comments from the rabble to find this one. Mister Asylum and TBWCW came out my junior and senior year and saved my ass. To present day we have some kind of PSA in this song, preachy af with an alienating "fuck the cool kids" line that mirrors the divisiveness that found us isolated when we went through hard times. And people are eating this sht up and asking for more. the lyrics could've been auto-generated that's how simple and uninspired this album has been.
Tbf to them, most major groups write based off of market trends and do their best to reflect society--i don't actually think this is Highly Suspect anymore, but the influence of the label, sales targets, and branding

Love Highly but the wolf album was their musical high. Lately its more political and feels pushed to be a self help message. Johnny lost his blues. Which im happy for him and the band but it has cost his guitar playing the soul it had.
It's true, I feel the last album and this new one have alot of teen agnst and mediocre lyrics compared to the wolf and mister asylum albums. Those two had raw and awesome energy to them.
