I had an idea for a challenge that the rehab base reminds me of: if any flatulent dupes show up in the printer then you have to take them, and they are royalty and get set to an all downtime schedule. The rest of your dupes do all the work and ideally the royal dupes get all the best food and amenities.
@@Garueri I'm currently using the magma biome in my 2000 cycle rime map to power the entire base. And turning it all into igneous rock, after which I'll have a huge vacuum area where I will let the volcanoes run and then collect the extra magma with sweepy bots. It's a crazy large build, but it's actually really easy to implement.
Maybe put the downtime after they go to sleep? But then you have to give them enough of a sleep schedule that they can make it back to the base in time to get to bed.
This... these are amazing. My bases are so messy, there are pipes all over the place... Some day if i gather courage i can send one in :), to have some fun of the filthy casual. Although i'm not sure 'casual player' and 'oxygen not included' can sit in a single sentence. Cheers!
I have to wonder which would aggravate you more, Francis: intentionally leaving every fossil tile while coring out the entire rest of the map, or using all the fossil from the map for wallpaper (with the mod obviously) and drywall. Either way I imagine the sheer horror on your face once you hit the overlay and discovered the evil would be hilarious.
Assuming you are trapping them in rooms they need about 18 tiles each to not get cramped which would stifle their reproduction. So you could fit maybe 4 in a room max, compared to what statues give you the tiny amount extra is usually not worth the effort.
@@FrancisJohnYT bit late but radiant bugs give 200 decor over 7 tiles. And since they tend to stick together its really easy to have a decor bomb in the great hall or main staircase. Great hall is 120 tiles, so 12 bugs.
@@FrancisJohnYT The Shipping overlay isn't hard to see anymore, it's the same whiteish colour as regular pipes. But you've got a piont with the automation overlay. Or with the new Ribbon and Pixel Pack if there's some kind of central Info Panel. I surely can't be the only madlad who does something like that...
I'm trying to imagine the amount of geo thermal power you could generate with all of that. Well once you get rid of all the magma surrounding the volcano's first.

Then, by cycle 2000 or so when that was done you could hollow out all the solidified magma and replace it with a hydrogen atmosphere. When the, now liberated, volcanoes start erupting it would probably power it forever.
19:30 The dupes do indeed miss their sleep when they tan, but the buff lasts for 8 cycles... so it's fine :) They'll only sleep on the floor once every 8th cycles.
Do they get any benefit from a partial tan? Maybe you can control how long they spend with some timers and putting the beach chair on top of an airlock
The key is to automate the tanning lights to only be on during set recreation times. Without a light source, dupes will leave the tanning chairs. But you do need to allocate enough recreation time for them to finish a tan if you want them to have the buff.
the hydrogen vent is cooled off like that because no other available material would live up to the ungodly temperature the hydrogen will get to eventually
I can understand if you don't have as much time before doing these to explore the bases, but while actively reviewing them I don't think you should rush. It changes the dynamic in a negative way, and I kind of feel bad for them not getting the same treatment as the earlier bases.
It seems all these types of players are doing is clearing the entire map and following videos for every little thing. Nothing natural, nothing original. The only difference is where/how they space everything. They're all identical otherwise.
