    Im a ghanaian and hands down when it comes to Afrobeats Nigeria( omo Naija) is just second to none.The list of their superstars ist just incredible.
    Wizz kid,Tiwa Sawage,Yemi Alade,Davido,Tekno,Burnaboy,Ckay,Fireboy,Joe boy,Asake,Pato Ranking,Rugalo,Iyanya,Kizz Daniel,P sqaure,Runtown, Olamide,Zlatan, etc etc this is just massive. And all of them produce videos with over millions of views on UA-cam.
    This is just remarkable. Give praise n Respect where is due no matter what.

      Some of the rest of them were born or even raised in the US and UK. A Nigerian accent is not faked sometimes. It depends on the upbringing of the Artist. Don't forget we have a huge diaspora population, but the culture sticks to them wherever they are.

    Correction... Yoruba is spoken primarily in the "Southwestern" part of Nigeria..not "Central Nigeria" as is mentioned in this video. However, Yoruba is everywhere..worldwide...

      Well, it’s no surprise, I’m yet to see a very well educated Yoruba person who doesn’t speak or even understands a word or two from Yoruba.
      Yorubas generally aren’t bashful of speaking their language loudly & proudly ANYWHERE! Be it America, European or Asia that they find themselves.
      Although a other tribes normally make fun of that……But we still don’t care!
      Running 🏃🏾‍♀️ to continue to teach my kids. We don’t make noise for nothing!

    3:20 says everything. The interviewer asks Asake about the lyrics, not realizing it's not about the lyrics!
    Asake replies, "I don't even know what they are saying, I just like HOW they sound. That's what the song is about. It's just about connecting with who you are."
    I'm a white guy from the suburbs who doesn't understand a LICK of Yoruba, but I don't need to. Asake's music touches my soul.
    So blessed to have seen him live in Brooklyn, NY only a few days ago.

    Finally, these guys have admitted using Fuji in their music. A lot of them are inspired by traditional YOruba music like Fuji, Apala, Juju, Waka etc. Thats why the Yoruba dominates the music scene, it's in the rhythm and blood.

    Asake’s MMWTV album is the most authentic Afrobeat project out of Africa in d last 10 years in my opinion. Break out star in d making.
