Aw thank you so much for this comment! It’s really kind of you to say - and we appreciate it a ton. This is the exact kind of content that helped us grow our business so we’re just there grateful to be able to share and give back a little bit of what we’ve learned
One of the very few YT channels where I would feel confident hitting the "like" button before even watching the video. Thanks for the continued help/content.
Yes on the listings when you do a search! Or they reposh an item and you have no idea if what condition is NOW. Or they only have a couple pictures. So many titles have no size in it.
Obsessed with your knowledge. So helpful. I struggle with keywords for all the bread and butter items. Like your plain Blouse, Dress shirt and pants. Do you have a video to watch regarding these types of items? Thanks for your time
Hi there! I don’t have any videos out right now regarding plain clothing - our bread and butter items have always actually been style based pieces that may not have great brands but have great styles! For more plain items, I’d still do my best to add any and all keywords that I could to match an aesthetic, or an aesthetic that the piece could be seen in with an outfit in that aesthetic.
@@TrashPandasThrift Video request/challenge - Hold up 50 items and on the spot list 3 keywords you believe will increase seo. I have a roladex of 20, I bet you have 200+ top of mind.
Love your videos! What if a brand tag is missing and the item is Not vintage. What is your suggestion? Also, some brands are not listed within the Depop drop down, what Brand do you list? I have listed as “Other” but I don’t feel good about it. Thanks!!
Hey Bethany! I have a question about titles. I sell on Posh where I am curious about using the size in the title, since the size shows on the listing without me needing to take up title space with that information. Do you think it is important since people can filter for their size, as long as I also have it in the listing, that I don't always put the size in the title? Also, are you the one who told me about the Evermore album cover flannel? Because I just found it 😍
Hi!! Haha I’m not sure if it was me or not - maybe!? As far as the listing goes, personally I always put the size even if it is in the listing. There definitely is an argument for and against it, but I’ve personally always done it that way and still have plenty of room for great keywords! (I only wouldn’t put it if I absolutely needed the character space to really sell the item!
Would you suggest placing additional keywords into the theme drop down (ebay). I spent a little time searching keyword sellthrough and ive noticed that words ive searched in the search bar will show results if its in the theme of the item. Even if that word isnt a preset drop down item. Have you experimented with this at all? Thanks
Hi there! Whatever are actually in the theme drop down that apply, I’d use there too. I would still place them in the title and description too though and personally not see the theme as a replacement :)
Hi there! Thanks for watching :) I can’t possibly give you a platform that would be best because it’s HIGHLY dependent on the kinds of items you’re selling, how you’re listing them, your cost of goods, your desired income, and so many more factors. Ebay , Poshmark, depop, mercari, fb marketplace and whatnot are the platforms we’ve had experience with + we also wholesale thrifted clothes to other resellers and thrift stores!
I totally hear you! I personally have always used it in my title - different things will work for different businesses - that’s always been our way of creating listings though and feel like it helps in search.
@@TrashPandasThrift I’m always back and forth for sure! The other one that gets me is “cottage core” does it matter if it’s separate or apart?? I always separate in case someone just searches “cottage”, but wonder if I’m missing “cottagecore” so ridiculous what we have to worry about lol.
Vintage in place of the brand is a great idea. I don't think most folks know the brand name of most vintage unless it's super popular like Coogi. I also wonder if gender is necessary especially if you already have it listed in Womens Tops category. Especially if the brand itself only makes womens clothes. "Keyword vomit" Ha !
Personally, we’ve always added the gender unless we ABSOLUTELY needed the space to sell an item and had some amazing keywords that we knew would! There’s definitely debate around it, it’s just the way we do it and the way eBay recommends too.
Hi! It would highly depend on the piece itself - it’ll depend on the materials, cut, utility, etc. Some examples could be (HIGHLY depend on the piece) classic, timeless, capsule, minimalist, etc.
@@TrashPandasThrift thank you! I’ve been using those… just trying to think of others as well. They don’t sound as spiffy in the titles as whimsygoth or fairy core. Ha
Do you currently have any videos where you show different aesthetic names with clothing. I think my Keywording is my issue. New Subscriber so I am not sure of your content.
I couldn’t say anything about your store or titles without seeing them - my opinion is always if what I’m doing is working though, then I’m a lot less concerned with what others are doing! (So if what you’re doing is working and your items are selling for the amount you want in the time frame you want, that’s great!)
Hi! I personally have always used it - and in the example shown in the video, eBay also recommends it in the title (and other platforms I believe in the past have said similar things)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! What is your opinion on including style name, if known, in the title. If you had to choose between style name or more keywords which would you choose?
Hi there! If the style name adds value, then absolutely! If not, then I wouldn’t add it and I’d use more keywords. I would however make sure to include it in the description of course!
Question, you mentioned in here about not using punctuation. Do you think abbreviations work? i.e. VTG? I've noticed that when I go to search one of my listings, eBay unless it is perfect says item not found. Is there a workaround for this?
Are you searching in your active listings? There’s a different search algorithm for finding items in your own inventory vs. how buyers are given search results.

Vtg vs. Vintage. What your opinion on these? Thanks!
Hi! If I really need the character space, I’ll use VTG, but if I have the room I’ll prioritize using the full “vintage”

Regarding the size, I always hate to take up space since that's listed elsewhere in the "item specifics", you still think it's necessary?

Surprised your comment in including gender in the title . Is this necessary if you are classifying in Ebay under men or women’s clothing?
