Broccoli spouts and raw cabbage are my GERD fix. I usually whiz up 20 g broccoli sprouts in the blender with some water, sometimes I throw cabbage in there if it has been flaring up. Cabbage juice also works but is more of a hassle to make.

Hi, Andy Morris Art! If you are using iodized salt, your best source of dietary iodine is probably sea vegetables, particularly nori, dulse, or arame. Hello! My name was Clint P, I posted a comment on this UA-cam Q&A 16:04 that got shot down pretty quickly, sorry for the misunderstanding. (Quote in video was from a Q&A on Fuhrman's website.) Big fan of both Mr. G and Fuhrman. Better said, if I have low cholesterol (98 total 40 ldl), does that make me more vulnerable to salt? The reason I asked was because I once had low blood pressure as a WFPB vegan starting out, I wanted to do very low / no salt. I had much much better results removing a couple healthy culprits that lower blood pressure too much for me like vinegar hibiscus tea etc rather than upping salt and water intake like my doctor told me to. At times my head would say sharply quickly OUCH and I've been skeptical ever since. Eventually I felt a day long storm of inflammation in my head, that was the mic drop I was done with salt as a vegan. Before I was vegan, never felt anything like this eating ramen and KFC, even though I believe saturated fat and salt are both pretty terrible. If this is true, wouldn't want another vegan to go through my same experience. My reference to Fuhrman was here ua-cam.com/video/9LB4JCOdBUM/v-deo.html particularly at 2:39. Thanks for answering my question and thanks for everything you do Mr. G!

Appreciate the info doc but you need to look into saturated fats. As a health professional for 17 years now, I once thought they were the enemy. But fair and non biased studies have shown they are perfectly healthy for us, in the absence of excess carbs/sugars/and other processed foods.

    • @towritemichelle210

You mean like staturated Fat triggering CD36 and with it is now suggested for not only cancer occurance but also metastatis (Pascual, 2017) .. Yea sounds really save mister "health professional".. Funny also you making claims as a profesisonal but not knowing you should cite sources when claiming 'studies have shown'... You only seem to be focussed on one element of nutrition like a reductionist instead of taking the entirety of the system in account. Yes exces high glycemic foods like processed carbs and BCAA's lead to problems. But that doesn't mean that is the ONLY reason for bodily disfuction. That is such a rookie mistake and would (I hope) not be made by a health professional of 17 years... Health profession isn't reductionist science.. it is wholistic science and application.
So going to call BS on your claims since you do not meet the professional requirements so convey even the the most general evidence based information.

I have not worked as a health professional, but I have been doing a TON of reading on nutrition by several MD's and PhD's in nutrition. What I have learned is that, yes, saturated fats are not our enemy and are needed for our body to properly absorb and digest certain vitamins. However, they are not an essential fat as our body makes all saturated fats we need. By essential, I mean we do not have to get it from our diet. Do you agree? And what type of a health professional are you? Just curious.
