  • For 2019, Acura turns things up a notch with the redesigned and significantly improved 2019 RDX. It's new from the ground up and this sporty RDX A-Spec package is one of the few high feature options. For this luxury suv class, the new RDX with SH-AWD shines in the handling department and the 2.0T paired with the 10-speed transmission provides enough thrust to have fun. I was very impressed with this RDX overall and let me know what you think!

I've had my Tech Pkg 2019 RDX for a month now and absolutely love it. I have the 19 in wheels which I assume give a softer ride than the 20". Push-button shifter..........absolutely love them. My 2016 TLX had it. The new 4 cylinder engine is really responsive & peppy and if you really want to add some zip, put it into Sport +.

I agree about the Remote Start. I’m very disappointed that Acura would do this. You’d think when you spend over 50k for the top trim they’d include it. Since I plan on having this car for a long time I paid for it to be installed. Great review!

Acura might not compete too well in the looks category...some might say, but it sure kicks butt in the performance & quality categories. You MUST physically drive one to appreciate them. I’ve owned a 2012 MDX and had a loaner 2016 RDX for a day, liked them both. I own a 2016 RLX, bought it brand new right off the showroom floor at the dealer. All I can say is “LOOOOVE it” 🤗 wouldn’t trade it for nothing. The sound system is phenomenal 🔊. Good review Nolan.

@@MoNoK15 Motor Trend says the RDX 2.0T is slower than the 2019 QX50 2.0T with it's new engine where the RDX new Accord 2.0T is putting out less.
"...The 268-hp crossover recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a 15.1-second quarter mile at 91.6 mph. That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec."
So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec. Even Consumer Reports's 7.0s 0-60 was also correct. No sub 6-second time for RDX 2.0T.
Out handled by QX50 and XT4 in Motor Trend handling test.
Even the the Buick Envision 2.0T is putting down a faster 27.5s figure-8 time vs 2019 RDX 2.0T at 27.7 in Motor Trend testing. That continues in an Emergency Lane test by CR that has the Envision 2.0T doing 55.5 mph while the RDX 2.0T can only go 52.5 mph. And that is with four less speed compared to the RDX.

Nice review Nolan. I think you are the most thorough reviewer I’ve seen. Not a fan of Acura’s myself. I haven’t been in the new RDX, but Acura’s in general seem to be designed and have an overall quality too close to Honda for me personally. I do like the color combo and the black trim on red seats look sharp. The overall dash design is a bit haphazard for me. The drive mode switch is too big and sticks out too much. One thing I just can’t get used to is the push button transmission. I know it frees up space and all, but it’s just too gimmicky for me. Personally, I’d buy a Lexus. I’d love to see you review the new Soul and Telluride sometime.

What is the advantage of watching what wheels are getting the power? Interesting but distracting. I just want the all wheel drive to work with a minimum of input from me and keep me safe. Often manufactures add switches for sand, snow or mud. I know the car can detect those things. Most all wheel drives are used to get the car off the lawn after washing if not in snow.

I love when reviewers complain about SUV/crossovers not being "sporty" enough, and compared to cars, they pretty much always fall short. Taller body and added weight will equal more roll and sway, so manufacturers must compensate by making the suspension less compliant for the car not to be dangerous to drive. I hope wagons become more popular in North America since they take positives from both ends of the spectrum: the low and sporty properties of a car + cargo capacity of an SUV. Win-win!

Norm T is a troll! CR removed the RDX because of infotainment issues. I have had issues with my RDX but that is a non-issue as Acura OTA updates addressed most bugs. It will continue to get better. Reliability is not the concern. It is a reliable engine shared with the Accord turbocharged engine.

@@Eatshhhushi CR also bought one to test and know what a abomination the 2019 RDX.
The Honda 2.0T has been going into limp home mode in both Accord and RDX with 2.0T. Honda also has a problem with fuel mixing with oil in the 1.5t engine.
You'd think since they are 2nd to last to bring DI and turbo-4 tech to the masses they would have figured how to do it right instead of using Honda-paying beta testers.

Norm T only the CRV had oil dilution not the Honda Accord 1.5T nor 2.0T. There is non on the RDX. I thought I had dilution issue but confirmed by Blackstone Oil Analysis to be false. Too many short trips, long Idle and cold temperatures were the cause of fuel smell. My oil dilution

This has to be one of the worse reviews for this car. Misinformation galore.

      Can you give an example?

      Prime Autotainment
It's not called Asl audio 9:40 it's ELS 3D and one of the best sound systems you can get in any car.
The complaint about the ride being stiff. It's a sports SUV it's compliant not stiff. If you want a softer ride the advance trim has the dampers. So why get on the ride quality as a negative.
Those are the two off the top of my head.

Xavier Mathews I appreciate you taking the time. Forgive me for mixing up one letter...when I wasn’t even talking about the system. At 16:00 you’d hear me say ELS and how many speakers each level gets.
I also said the A-Spec package would be stiffer riding compared to the others. I acknowledged that...it’s not a performance SUV...it’s still a luxury Crowsover with a sportier appearance.
I wouldn’t call this a galore of misinformation

Xavier Mathews I like that guy from Downshift too. He’s on his way up! Sorry man, no intentions of misinformation but thanks for watching anyways!
