I was wondering if you can provide me the version of the firmware updates. What V numbers are your display, controller and battery. Also was it just updated this month? My last updates were in August.
I have the discover 2 and have the option to switch between cadence and torque sensor only on the app. This was an update in August, this is a new video now showing an additional update since August now showing the option available on the display. I can only assume that they sent firmware update this bike as a beta test. I’ve been checking my firmware updates and I have not received any updates since August and still can only switch between cadence and torque sensor on the app. I’m sure they will be rolling this update out to all users once past the testing period. My display is on v056, controller is on v070, and battery on v020. All last updated in August, my app on phone is also up to date.
Velotric sent us a new display that had updated software pre-installed. We recommend reaching out to the company to see if there is a way for existing displays to receive an update.
I have reached out to the company and forwarded my request to the tech area and will reply in the next couple days to find out if this will be a future ota update for all displays.
Unfortunately there is no additional information when this new UI display will be available for upgrade. It was also unclear if it will be available via OTA or would require a new display to display the torque or cadence sensor mode, as well as the ability to change this mode on the display rather than only in the app. I would love to get my hands on one of these displays
Great review on the bike, it is one we are looking at to replace our IGO folding fat tire bikes....if you dont mind revealing the location where those bike trails are, the scenery was stunning
thanks for the update. Sounds like a great bike! One improvement would be rear turn signals. IMO lighting is such huge safety factor that I think a brake light and turn signals should be mandatory on all ebikes. Amie and Aventon seem to leading the way in lighting. I really appreciate the fact that you offer both a excellent video review PLUS a transcript making details more easily accessible.
I have a difficult time choose between the Velotric Discover 2, and the Rad Radster Road. Yes 100nm of torque is awesome, but the Discover weight less. And the computers are tuned differently when it comes to power from stop or from pedaling and throttle.
Ok at 41m06s you show the ability to change between torque and cadence on the display. I thought this was only possible with the app. Please explain how you did this?
The review clearly indicates that the updated screen display allows for adjusting between cadence and torque in the display. You no longer need the app to do it.
Does the feature that adjusts the sensitivity of the motor apply to both PAS and throttle? I'd like to set throttle so its a smooth take off and not jumpy. Also. I like the Summit 1 but would like to have a step thru frame but with some light dirt trail /firetrail capabilities. Is there an offroad tire you can recommend to replace the stock tire on the D2? Thanks for another detailed review.
The riding modes affect throttle power too; PAS 1 in Eco Mode will have the most gradual acceleration, while PAS 5 in Boost Mode will be the quickest. Something like the Schwalbe Wicked Will might be a good option for what you're looking to do!
Nice bike for sure...I love it in red!! I have a Radcity 5 plus...I know this one has a 750watts motor. More power but is this a HUGE improvement in handling. biking etc over my Radcity? it sure looks more stylish!
Thank you for reaching back out!
Of course! Thanks for the question!

Thanks for watching! We're based in St. George, UT, and all of our footage is gathered locally.

Hi @danhall3450 you'll be happy to hear the Discover 2 does have rear turn signals.

@@karma13612curious if it's an updated screen or a firmware beta update? 🤔
@ no clue. Ask the person who created this video.

@@ElectricBikeReporthave you heard if they are pushing a firmware to everyone else? I just received my D2 today and it's still the old screen. Thanks
