Trying to understand the math. 50 lbs of nitrogen gave 6 to seven inches of grass height. 200 lbs gave 12 inches. So a 400% increase in nitrogen gave a 200% of the grass. Does it make sense to apply 4 times the fertilizer for double grass height? Is there more protein in the taller grass (per pound of forage)? If fertilizer was free, I would definitely use more. Am I missing the point?

Maybe-- depends on prices. If I want to double my cows, am I better off spending $60 per acre on more fertilizer or renting twice as much land? I think grazers normally wind up in the range of say 40-80 lbs per year (depends on your rain and bermuda type). 200 lbs and over is probably going to be for making hay. Grazing animals recycle a good bit of the N back into the land with urine and manure.
So many variables-- best thing is to just do your own little experiment on your place.

Greg_YT Thank you for the comment. I am getting ready to put in grass in the spring and still have a lot to learn. I am dealing with 95 acres and an area with limited rainfall, and am just starting out. It’s not my primary job. I am just trying to learn how to do it right so we might be able to make a little money and do something I have always wanted to do.

@@osuforagesystems8477 for north texas would you recommend for grass feeding cattle grazing? Tipton 85 or jiggs or something else?
