Hi Charlie, could you please explain to me what this means? I’m trying to decide what electronic drums to buy and wondering if this is a good choice.
@@khaledzurikat7190 you can hear especially on the fast tom fills that it's playing the same sound twice in a row and it sounds very unnatural - that's what I mean.
Most modules seem to have this problem still, but software like Superior Drummer or Slate Drums (there are demos on this channel) have had it solved for over 10 years.
If I were looking to buy for mainly home use, I'd spend less on the drums and keep some money for a laptop and software - the sound is just better in every way.

Yeah I specifically remember a few of the Roland kits having real sized toms and snare drums? What happened?
@@rexross5189 that’s the 50KV2 with the bigger floor tom. The 50K2 is meant for those who want a more compact rack like myself, I want to be able to jump between drum set for tracking drums and play synths and track it all on the DAW
Hey Philip, you might get a custom kit configuration from drum-tec, for example with an 13" ATV exs pad instead of the 10" PDX-100.
Or you might even go for a 13" drum-tec diabolo or ATV aDrums stand tom (depending on your budget) ;) kind regards!

great vid and thank you; am researching this set and have a couple questions about the 14-inch VH-14D digital hi-hat. 1) Can this hi-hat be mounted on a remote stand? Probably mounted with hardware on the stand, but would the controller still work? 2) this digital hi-hat has a LOT of people complaining since it first came out. I read where the most recent new production of them appear to work better. What is your current view regarding reliability? Thank you

i dont know but my touch choke is not working its only working on ride
Have you checked the trigger settings? You have to really press the edge sensor on the crashes, they don't have a touch choke function as the digital ride. Kind regards!

Toms still sound like a machine gun and also the hi hat sound is really artificial... The only way that this thing will sound more natural is by using it with Superior Drummer 3... The snare is brilliant though...
Listening to this with my eyes closed. I think the hi-hat actually sounds pretty amazing. The only part that didn't sound "quite right" to my ears was when multiple successive notes were played with the hats open. Otherwise, would've fooled me.
I think the bass drum, ride and snare a pretty amazing too. Not sure why Roland can't quite seem to get tom sounds "right", but they're still pretty good. Better than my TD-8 and R-5 at least.

Anyone watching or listening to this and can find a negative or something not right, for me, would be an owner of another drum company! OK....now I'll watch more than the first minute of this....LOL

The main difference is the toms and the rack. Newer model toms and the rack hides the wires. and the kv2 has the new bigger bass. Same module and digital snare, hi hat and ride.

I'm sure it feels AMAZING. But it sounds like a Casio keyboard from the 80s.

@@drumtecTV Love that you're making kits that sound much better than the stock kits! But for a $2800+ module, it should AMAZING right out of the box. The stock hi-hat sounds awful. The Snare and Toms still has the "machine gun" sound when playing quickly at the same velocity. I can't believe that a company who is a "leader" in electronic drums has not added round robin technology into their extremely overpriced modules. I'd rather go with the Pearl Mimic Pro. PLUS, you can actually create your own Round Robin samples with Pearl Mimic Pro's new software.

Not related to this particular kit, but somehow Roland meshheads look much whiter in UA-cam and rather gray-ish in reality. I even started to suspect I got a fake kit :-))
Video lighting makes the mesh heads look brighter :) kind regards!
The machine gun Toms are a deal breaker for me. They still sound synthetic and unnatural. With today's technology, that's a real shame.
