    • @InsolentVillager
      @InsolentVillager 11 місяців тому

      He said nothing about lean protein. In fact, the one study about all the different types of fat illustrated that animal fat is best. The myth pushed by vegetarian documentaries, etc, about blue zone/Mediterranean diets is that those people don't consume large amounts of animal fat and protein. Loads of comments on loads of channels pushing that bs have people from those regions crying foul because they actually live there.

    This was a great video Thomas. I totally agree with everything said. I personally do not agree with longevity coming from consistent caloric restriction. As you noted - the longevity came from excluding processed food. Heart attacks and cancer (except from tobacco) were not common before the Industrial Revolution. HFCS, highly processed oils, and even sugar and tobacco weren’t that readily available and therefore not used. Good and water were nutrient and mineral dense. IMO longevity is likely achieved through avoidance of accidents, disease, toxins, and excess stressors, while getting good nutritious clean food, air, water and staying fit. Thanks again Thomas.

      Victorian Food colorings were amazing, lethal chemicals were used for colouring, especially to make the sweets attractive to children, eg: mercury sulphide (red), lead chromate (yellow), copper sulphate and good old arsenic (blue) and copper arsenite (green). Sugar was bulked out with plaster of Paris and limestone.

    I eat way more now at age 63 than I did my entire adult life! do you know why? because I didnt know I had low thyroid, or actually, I had very high stress levels which blocked my thyroid hormones from working. after I had my second child, I had a big baby yet I I didnt lose 1 lb after the birth, and never lost the 40 lbs I had put on either, and exercising made me GAIN weight, until I was 268 lbs until age 51. at that time, menopause set in and I was very very sick. my stress levels went through the roof! went to so many doctors, all said its just meno, eat less, exercise more...didnt work. finally found a hormone specialist, she put me on BHRT as well as natural thyroid meds. well, let me tell you, I lost a lb a week without effort, and all the weight was gone in less than a year! I'm 63 now. I focus on nutrition, nothing I eat comes from a box or a can (well maybe canned tomatoes or chick peas) but I cook everything from scratch. I eat one or two pretty big meals. eg: today I had coffee with lots of cream. now I'm gonna ride my spin bike for 30 mins or so. then I will eat a big sandwich, with 2 slices of sourdough rye, leftover roast beef we had Sunday, cheddar cheese, mustard, and I do use butter on both slices of bread. I'll have an orange and maybe a banana or an apple too. then I wont be hungry again until dinner,(if I am, I will have a cup of tea when hubby comes home from work, and eat a couple of homemade choco peanut butter cookies or drink a big glass of milk.) tonight we are having fried fish and veggie rice, which has broccoli onion carrots peas and whatever else I find in the fridge. the whole thing drizzled in good EVOO, sea salt, and hot sauce for my plate. before bed I have to take my hormone pills so I have a small yogourt and a banana usually. its working for me. I have desserts and eat potato chips several times a week, but I have small amounts. I also eat handfuls of walnuts or almonds if Im out shopping, I always carry food with me!

      Depends on the amount of calories, macros, and micros you are able to get from your eating window compared to daily expenditure and nutrient needs both short and long term. In other words, the more active, stressed, and leaner you get - the stricter the requirements become for an effective OMAD.

    8:18 but again and again.....to look at it as a human just eating more veggies has better all cause mortality outcomes. This is mind boggling like the low meat eaters having better all cause mortality rates shows meat is unhealthy. I say this for years and years, if a person eats less meat as an American(not carnivore or keto just SAD)they are a human that tries to eat healthier. They smoke and drink less and eat more at home meals. Same is true of people who eat more veggies and fruits as they are more akin to be eating some avocado and rice etc with the vegetables and fruit. The very fact that they eat more veggies and fruits means they are very likely eating less candy and chips.
