hey civ life can you do civ list of 10 civs best for making wonders and make a separate list for 10 best civs that are really good at building districts
Best science run I ever had was with Victoria. Her extra yields to powered buildings is really underrated. I happened to get the great scientist who gives +4 science to research labs, and because Victoria's kits allows you to easily generate gold and power (ie coal) I was able to instantly purchase a load of +25 science research labs the second I unlocked Chemistry. She will always have high production cities as well so she is definitely a great science option.
"Its hard to pull off a science victory with Babylon." Some dude had a sub t100 science victory with Babylon he posted about on civfanatics. You use the eurekas to plow through the early techs, then pillage your way through the future techs.
Damn those Koreans. I had the perfect game. I conquered another civ very early in the game and I easily had the largest and most economically productive empire. Then after I get my spies up and running around the globe picking up eurekas, I get the notification that they had completed work on the laser station while my spaceport was 15 turns from completion.
Honestly, I find Black Queen Catherine to be my favorite science civ. Now, While she doesn't have any direct bonuses to Science per se, what she DOES have is far more evil: the ability to prevent everyone *else* from winning a science victory! Basically, you do your usual thing of building your empire and setting your infrastructure. And then... you send spies everywhere to catch up on those Eurekas while you build some of the most powerful science win Wonders at a discount like Oxford, Kilwa, and Rhur Valley. Then, if your more advanced rivals are beginning the Space Race, simply send one of your agents there to sabotage the Spaceport, blow up their dams, destroy their Industrial Zones, summon Partisans in those idiots who decided Neighborhoods were a good idea, and overall make their lives a living nightmare while you steadily make baguettes on Mars! This strat is so good it was my first Science victory in this game when I got it. At this time I still had no idea how half of the game worked, built holy sites after the religions were already taken, and couldn't win a Culture victory to save my life. So, I used my Guard Imperiale to curb-stomp a Modern-Era Brazil, defended multiple attacks from Germany with a successful Maginot line, and took my sabotage global as I made sure every spaceport on the map was perpetually in cinders! This may have been the base game and years before New Frontier, but I swear that game was MAGNIFICENT!!! Bonus points if you get Korea because since she gets so much science and her Seowons cannot be adjacent to any district without losing her Rationalism advantage, she is thus incapable of protecting herself with counterspy operations without stationing a whole spy there which leaves the rest of her city indefensible! It's genius I tell you! Pure, diabolical genius!!!
@@xoxaunconcious3374 it was my 3rd/4th game so I was still getting the hang of how things… worked on Prince/King. Once I got better I would try again multiple times to relative success. It is one of my favorite science strays on Deity because Black Queen’s diplo visibility almost neutralizes the AI buff and you can focus of expanding and stabilizing until the Medieval Era and start pumping out the useful Wonders in large, productive cities. Send spies to powerful civs to help you catch up with free eurekas and once the Renaissance/Industrial Era hits conquer your neighbors with Guard Imperials and then turtle/build until you have enough espionage to keep up with any competition for the Space Race while keeping an eye on the map for any spaceports that aren’t on fire and rectify that issue. Once you get the enemy cobs locked out you can then take your spies to space and build a web that spans the stars!
I find culture victory my easiest go to strategy. Perhaps you aren't aware of how theming works with your great works? I always recommend a little bit of mid to late game war in culture victories also, to take out your top rival before becoming peaceful again and getting open border bonuses with the remaining players. Having the same government and religion as other players as well as trade routes i think will also boost tourism.
Currently in a Bull Moose Teddy game and the preserve districts are kinda nutty, just made triangle formations in the middle of cities and the yields you get especially late game when they are sanctuaries is absurd!!!
If you play America and get the Great Engineers that give production to Wonders you can build Eiffel Tower almost instantly. I've never lost a single game doing this strat 🤣
@@Norwayfoeshoe this, beyond me how grown ass people find that shit entertaining in any way. All that they do is make the AI even shittier since they don t know how to use that shit that they ve put in the game.
If you dedicate them to science early the Incas are almost unstoppable. Their raw production output and their ability to get tall fast helps so much. Also because they are an isolation civ the Ai don’t get very angry at you. They also have the start bias near mountains which lets them get easy +3 +4 campuses. They can steam roll through the game by just getting a ton of science early and then using their production to dominate in the space race. And if you get attacked you have the production to build units for defense.
You get bonuses for trading domestically. Unless you’re in desperate need of gold, all trading can be done internally for great production/food bonuses.
I think Spain can be great in a science game. Creating huge cities in different continents will give you an obscene amount of gold and production from trading routes, and the mission is great at giving science, if near a campus. Also their starting bias can be good early on.
Can you do your personal top 5-10 Steam Workshop maps? Maybe one that would suit a naval Civ good, and one that would suit a Mongolian monster. There’s so many maps out there but some creators over-do the resources, or just flat out aren’t good.
this, I m not some murican fan at all( but in a world with jackasses like russia I m glad usa exists) but they always felt meh in civ games when they should feel op since they are legit the most op nation ever on this earth.
So, I totally agree that BM Teddy is at the very least in the top 5, seeing as how a crappy start can more or less have you circling the toilet bowl of death as the vultures close in to pick your corpse clean. But after watching this, I decided to give him a try on an Archipelago map, seeing as how coastlines boost appeal like a Cialis pill for Mr Roosevelt. With a decent land mass that was pure coastline and peppered with mountains, I ended up having one of the most potent Teddy starts I have ever experienced. Nearly every tile has some kind of science and culture bonus which made the whole thing just insanely powerful. I also took the breathtaking appeal pantheon which made the whole island some big booty tile porn. While I did have to build on some of these ridiculous base yield tiles, the appeal was still so ridiculously high that my mines had absolutely no affect on appeal; basically making the one thing that detracts from Teddys ability a non issue. Furthermore, I managed to get some pretty insane adjacencies given the close quarters nature of Archipelagos land masses. Anyways, thanks for the tip brother! Literally had one of the greatest starts ever across all of my games so far. I just wish I had the energy to pull an all-nighter and make the rest of the world bow to my greatness or at the very least burn in my nuclear hellfire. That said, I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Cheers buddy 🤣🤣🤣
Can u make a video on all the ways to gain science? I watch streams and people have way more science than me at given turns despite me having more cities
The main way is through campuses. However, many religious beliefs provide science and can be used as a supplement for campuses early on. For a science victory building all the campus building sis necessary and would usually be a top priority.
I can’t play with a couple of the leaders you mentioned do I have to buy them separately or something because when I go to choose a leader then some of them just don’t show up
Arabia has the highest Science potential. A continent split with mountains and River Goddess (happy Arabia) generates more science than all competitors.
In Science victories i usually don't build a lot of campuses(except for late game) and just use IZs since i literally never get a single great scientist in most of my games and i usually only get one or 2 in the games that i get great scientists in so i just farm engineers since the A.I doesn't build a lot of IZs most of the time

I have won science with the Mayans several times, but in all cases, I used the Sanguine Pact and got very productive vampire castles.
thats how you play the mayans tbh get those juicy vampire castles
Is it even fun to use these "cheat codes"?
mods make the game

Now you have to do a top 10 culture leaders
Germany might be the best all-around civ tbh. That production bonus you get with them is totally boss for all victory types
same reason khmer are dumb - more pops = more things
Babylon pillage strat where you try to boost most techs while you pilage the techs which you cannot boost
